"Another rule..."
The irritable fellow being questioned awkwardly scratched his nose.
Then, sowhat embarrassed, he said, "This other rule, I only rember it has sothing to do with anesthesia, but I can’t recall the specifics."
As he spoke,
He looked towards Chen Mu and Mu Yao for help.
Irritable Fellow: "Even if I can’t rember, Dr. Chen and Dr. Mu surely have an idea and know the answer, right?"

How could they possibly not have any recollection?

The school not only made them recite these details repeatedly,
But in class, teachers would repeatedly emphasize the importance of communicating with patient families,

The most apprehensive ones in the country are probably the maternity departnts of various hospitals.
When pregnant won register at the hospital, they are directly asked about their educational background along with their families’.
This seems unrelated to the patient’s condition.

But in reality,
For clinical doctors, there’s a significant insight here.
The sa instruction of fasting and abstaining from drinking,
For patients and families with at least a middle school education,
Doctors basically need only give a brief instruction about fasting and abstaining.
But for those with lower education levels,
Doctors explain more clearly: no drinking water, no porridge, no eating, and no other intake.
Anything that requires ingestion is off-limits.

Back when Chen Mu was in the ergency room, he encountered such an extraordinary old man.

Mu Yao had no idea that her decision to explain led to more online debates about Chen Mu.
She was still standing there.
Eagerly addressing the curious students, "One of the reasons for postoperative fasting and abstaining from drinking is because, for many patients coming out of surgery, the anesthesia hasn’t worn off yet. If it did wear off imdiately post-surgery, patients could hardly bear the pain, so they need so recovery ti."
Listening to Mu Yao,
The students watching nodded in agreent.
"True, even my scraped knee takes so ti to feel better. It’s normal for surgical wounds to need ti too."

Hearing the debate in the crowd, Mu Yao slightly smiled.
Quickly realizing there might be caras here, Mu Yao explained, "To address one student’s question, generally, without anesthesia during surgery, it’s hard to ensure a patient doesn’t struggle or budge out of pain or fear. Surgery is a precise procedure, and a minor movent could affect the outco."
Listening to Mu Yao,
Soone in the crowd asked, "Dr. Mu, you said generally. Are there surgeries where anesthesia isn’t used?"
Mu Yao nodded: "Yes, but those cases are rare."
