"So what do you an by that?" Mu Wan’s attitude shifted just as quickly, and she couldn’t help but ask with a smile.
"No, I... I... My aning is simple. I just an... Ugh, I don’t know how to say it," Lin Kuang said, clearly frustrated. He normally prided himself on his quick wit. Why am I being so tongue-tied today?
"Hmph, I see you’re just a big flirt. I can’t be bothered with you." As she spoke, Mu Wan fiercely twisted Lin Kuang’s ear before snorting coldly.
The pain made Lin Kuang hop on the spot, his entire ear bright red. "My dear lady, you certainly don’t pull your punches," he said with a look of pure grievance.
"What? So you feel wronged, do you?" Mu Wan asked, her eyes wide as she stared him down.
"No, no! I’m not wronged. I wouldn’t dare feel wronged," Lin Kuang said in a small voice.
"Hmph, that’s more like it," Mu Wan huffed, shooting him a sideways glance.
In response, Lin Kuang shot her a subtle glare—of course, he didn’t dare do anything bolder. After all, he was genuinely afraid of Mu Wan.
At that mont, ten red dots appeared on the radar. Enemy aircraft were approaching.
"They’ve caught up to us," Mu Wan said, her expression turning grave as she glanced at the radar.
Lin Kuang nodded. "Yeah. We still need at least five minutes to get there, but we’ll be in their firing range in less than that! In other words, they could very well shoot us down while we’re still in Island Country’s airspace!" As he spoke, his expression turned grim.
They were facing ten fighter jets. A single volley would destroy this private plane, no matter how skilled he and Mu Wan were. In the face of such overwhelming power, skill ant nothing.
"Wan’er, let’s prepare to jump," Lin Kuang said seriously, looking at Mu Wan.
She nodded. "Yes, that’s our only option. I hope we make it through this. If we survive, I’ll let everything go. If we don’t, then let’s go see the underworld together."
With that, Mu Wan smiled at Lin Kuang, her composure perfectly calm. She showed no fear of death. After so many years as a soldier, she had long since accepted that death was an unavoidable part of life.
Hearing her words, Lin Kuang pulled her into a tight hug. "Alright," he said with a smile. "If we make it out of this alive, rember to have my baby."
Saying this, Lin Kuang lowered his head and kissed her soft, red lips.
Although they were childhood friends, this was their very first kiss. Mu Wan’s kiss was inexperienced and a little clumsy, but it carried a unique thrill. Lin Kuang held her, kissing her passionately, as if he wanted to lt her into his very being. After what felt like a long ti, they finally parted.
Mu Wan’s pretty face was flushed, making her look absolutely enchanting. Her stunning beauty made Lin Kuang wish he could take her right then and there. But this was obviously not the ti or place for that; they had no ti to spare.
"It’s about ti, Wan’er. Let’s go," Lin Kuang said with a smile, taking her small hand.
"Okay, let’s go."
With that, they moved to the cabin door. Lin Kuang had the only parachute strapped to his back.
"Looks like we’re not in their firing range yet. They haven’t opened fire," Lin Kuang couldn’t help but chuckle as he glanced at the fighter jets rapidly closing in from behind.
"That’s right. Should we wait a bit longer?" Mu Wan asked with a smile.
"Sure. Let’s wait for them to open fire," Lin Kuang said, holding her in his arms.
The two of them stood there at the open cabin door, smiling as they watched the blue sky and the ten approaching fighter jets.
It seed like an eternity and an instant all at once before a rapid series of sounds erupted. BANG! BANG! BANG! In a flash, countless missiles shot straight toward their private plane.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "Wan’er, let’s go!"
Mu Wan smiled and nodded, clinging tightly to Lin Kuang’s back. With no ti left for hesitation, Lin Kuang stomped his feet hard against the floor and leaped out of the cabin.
In that mont, their bodies plumted toward the ground. At the sa instant, the missiles slamd into the aircraft. The private plane instantly exploded, a dazzling fireball consuming it in mid-air as it was blown to smithereens.
Watching the twisted sheets of tal and the severed half of the fuselage fall, Lin Kuang’s gaze sharpened. If one of those things hits soone, it’ll be devastating. Even I would be seriously injured.
"Wan’er, let’s speed up," Lin Kuang said with a grin, looking at the woman in his arms.
"Speed up? How?" Mu Wan asked, puzzled.
"Watch ," Lin Kuang said with a slight smile, twisting his body sharply.
The next mont, a massive, smoking piece of tal—what looked like a piece of the wing—whistled past them. As it did, Lin Kuang planted his feet on its surface and then kicked off with all his might.
BANG!
The massive plane wing was sent flying several ters away, and Lin Kuang used the montum to suddenly accelerate, clutching Mu Wan tightly. Just then, a missile streaked past, missing them by just over a ter.
Damn, that was close! Lin Kuang cursed inwardly. Honestly, his heart was pounding. It wasn’t his own death he feared; he was worried about the woman in his arms.
Just then, a dozen fighter jets appeared before them—they were from Hua Country.
"Warning! Warning! This is the border of Hua Country! You have openly fired missiles within our territory! This is a provocation against our nation! All units, target enemy aircraft and open fire! Rember: those who offend Hua Country shall be hunted down, no matter how far they flee!" a man’s voice bood from one of the cockpits.
The next mont, Hua Country’s jets opened fire, showcasing the formidable power of their air force. In re monts, the ten fighter jets from Island Country were annihilated—a demonstration of true strength.
Listening to the thunder of cannons and the roar of explosions behind them, Lin Kuang turned his head to watch.
"Wan’er, looks like we’re not going to die," he said, turning back to the woman in his arms with a grin. "Shouldn’t you get ready to have my baby?"
"Yes," Mu Wan said, looking at him very seriously. "But before we have a baby, I think you should probably open the parachute first."
"Ah! Crap, I forgot!" Lin Kuang yelled in dismay, quickly pulling the ripcord.
As the parachute deployed, their descent slowed imdiately, and they drifted gently down toward the jungle below.
