Just two streets away from the Martial Association Headquarters stood the Guangcheng Building.
On a normal day, this office tower lacked any presence, but today it was unusually bustling, even becoming the center of all attention. The first three floors were festively decorated, with lanterns hung and colorful flags fluttering in the breeze. A gilded signboard, spanning over ten ters, shimred gloriously under the sunlight.
Feiyang Martial Arts School.
From the entrance alone, its aura and grandeur were in no way inferior to the Martial Association Headquarters.
「In front of the main entrance」
"By the looks of it, the Feiyang Martial Arts School is determined to have a direct confrontation with the Martial Association," soone remarked.
"What do they have to fight the Martial Association with? Sheer passion? I'm not trying to brag, but this so-called Feiyang Martial Arts School will be torn down in no ti!" another scoffed.
"Let's just wait and see," a third spectator chid in.
A crowd of onlookers was abuzz, their words laced with mockery and disdain. It wasn't that they inherently looked down on the Feiyang Martial Arts School—at the very least, its announced tuition fees were quite reasonable. But the Martial Association was simply too strong, especially in terms of its influence.
Throughout Cangyun City, let alone ordinary citizens, even the eight most powerful families dared not challenge them and had to give way in all respects. Apart from the Martial Association's own formidable strength, the most important reason was the group of people backing it. Perhaps even the four great royal families had to show them so respect.
All things considered, what right did this suddenly erging force of unknown origin have to provoke the Martial Association? They could only be annihilated.
An hour had passed, and though the number of onlookers had grown, not a single person dared to step inside to make inquiries or sign up. Nobody dared to offend the Martial Association.
"This shoddy martial arts school is dood to be eliminated!" a man in his thirties declared, stepping out from the crowd. With his hands clasped behind his back, he glanced at the signboard. "This sign would make a fine bonfire."
"Steward Yang, are you here to take down the Feiyang Martial Arts School?" soone who recognized the man asked.
The man, Yang Kang, responded with an arrogant smirk. "I'm just passing by, but our people from the Martial Association are already on their way. However, since I've stumbled upon it, I might as well take a look inside."
Yang Kang turned and swept his gaze over the onlookers. "I'm going to ask them if Cangyun City is a place their lousy martial arts school has any right to be in."
"Everyone, step back. After I go in, I'll be killing a few people. Be careful not to get splattered with blood."
With that, Yang Kang strode towards the entrance of the Feiyang Martial Arts School.
The surrounding crowd sighed. People from the Martial Association were always so domineering. To kill at the slightest disagreent? Tsk, tsk... They acted as if they were the Heavenly King himself.
Then, under everyone's watchful eyes, Yang Kang entered the Feiyang Martial Arts School.
BANG!!
Just two or three seconds later, a muffled thud erupted from within. Before the crowd could react, Yang Kang, who had been arrogant and insufferable just monts ago, was hurled out like a bag of trash. He flew backward and crashed heavily at the feet of the onlookers.
CRACK! With the sickening sound of breaking bones, warm blood sprayed out, splattering across the faces of the nearby crowd.
Yang Kang: "..."
The crowd: "..."
Their eyes fell on Yang Kang's chest, which was now a bloody ss. Everyone's pupils contracted, and their hair stood on end.
What in the hell kind of attack was that? It was as if he had been swatted by a black bear, his stark white bones revealed in a grueso display.
COUGH! COUGH!
Yang Kang struggled to sit up, one hand clutching his nearly shattered chest while the other propped him up on the ground. As he coughed up mouthfuls of blood, his horrified eyes remained fixed on the martial arts school's entrance.
He hadn't seen who it was, only a Longsword that appeared out of nowhere and crashed directly into him. In that instant, it felt like he had been struck by a truck, shattering every rib in his body. And he was an eighth-rank Fist Master! This was too terrifying!
In stark contrast to Yang Kang's terror, the surrounding crowd grew increasingly excited. They all stared at the Feiyang Martial Arts School with great interest. Yang Kang's fate made the school's stance crystal clear: "So what if you're from the Martial Association? We'll beat up your people all the sa!"
Heh heh, now *this* is going to be a good show, the onlookers thought.
"Make way!"
A sudden shout cut through everyone's thoughts, silencing the large square.
A group of more than a dozen people pushed through the crowd and marched in. Leading them was a thin, black-robed elder. His eye sockets were particularly large, his eyes deeply sunken. A tuft of black hair grew from a mole at the corner of his left eye, giving him an extrely sinister and terrifying appearance.
"Lord... Lord Sun, I am a Steward of the Martial Association, Yang Kang," the man stuttered, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the newcor. "Lord Sun, there's a master in this Feiyang Martial Arts School! I went in to demand an explanation, but I was struck down before I even saw who it was! My lord, you must avenge !"
"Useless trash!"
The thin elder, Sun Tianze, one of the Martial Association's Eight King Kong, glanced at Yang Kang with disdain. "Get up, you disgrace."
"Yes, yes, yes!" Yang Kang nodded repeatedly. Gritting his teeth, he struggled to his feet and silently retreated to the side.
"A re martial arts school, and they have a master?" Sun Tianze sneered. He instructed the n behind him, "Go. First, tear down that signboard for !"
"Yes, sir!"
The group of more than a dozen n acknowledged the order and strode forward.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
They marched forward with imposing auras, radiating killing intent.
The onlooking crowd involuntarily stepped back, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire of the inevitable battle. In an instant, a vast open space ford before the school.
Sun Tianze stood in the middle of this space, hands clasped behind his back. A smirk played on his lips as he stared at the Feiyang Martial Arts School's sign, his eyes filled with cold disdain.
Daring to open a martial arts school in Cangyun City... heh. They're courting death.
BOOM!!
Just as the Martial Association mbers stepped onto the stairs, they were hit by a burst of Sword Qi. Although they all reacted instantly, every single one of them was sent flying.
Great mouthfuls of blood sprayed from their lips as if it were free, creating a thick, crimson mist in the air.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Like leaves scattered by an autumn wind, these high-level mbers of the Martial Association were flung several ters away, where they crashed hard onto the ground, wailing in agony.
"Why have they only sent trash?"
Su Ling erged from the martial arts school, his Longsword resting on his shoulder. He walked at a leisurely pace, his gaze sweeping casually over everyone before finally settling on Sun Tianze. "Where are the King Kong and the protectors? Send a few over. I'd like to kill sothing."
Sun Tianze: "..."
Everyone: "..."
