No one expected Chen Yang to have such a hidden master by his side.
Look at Gan Haotian, the first to rush forward. He had not only stripped off his own clothes but was now lying on the ground like a dead dog, not daring to let out a single whimper. The sight gnawed at the nerves of everyone present.
As the snow flurried and the cold wind cut through the air, those who had co with malicious intent—especially the ones in splendid attire—felt a bone-chilling cold rise from the soles of their feet. It spread through their limbs and into their very core, making them feel as if their skeletons would freeze and crack.
They racked their brains but could never have imagined things would turn out this way. The situation had completely diverged from their anticipated script and spiraled out of control.
Strip? Besides the biting cold, so many eyes were watching. If they stripped in public, how could they ever show their faces again? They were all respected figures in Cangyun City. They would beco a running joke, their reputations ruined.
But that man was like a demonic god. If they didn't do as he said, things would not end well for them today. If they had known this would be the outco, they wouldn't have dared to co, not even with a hundred tis their courage.
"Hmm?!"
Yang Hu raised an eyebrow, his imposing presence bursting forth.
BOOM!
A powerful aura rippled outward, so overwhelming that many were knocked flat on their backs.
This is too terrifying!
"Strip!"
That single word struck like a clap of thunder.
HISS.
Everyone was so scared their souls nearly fled their bodies. His domineering assertiveness seed powerful enough to shatter the heavens.
However, just as everyone was preparing to strip, a resonant voice traveled from the distance. "A re dog thinks he's qualified to act like a big shot here?"
The words were spoken calmly, yet they bood like earth-shattering thunder, echoing from the heavens and lingering in the air.
SHUFFLE.
Still reeling from the shock and ignoring their ringing ears, the crowd turned in unison to look toward the end of the road.
They saw a young man in his early thirties, dressed in a bright red robe intricately embroidered with golden thread in a pattern of two dragons playing with a pearl. His long hair was simply tied back with a black silk ribbon. In one hand he held an umbrella against the snow, and in the other, he puffed on a cigar. The fla flickered, and smoke curled into the air. His otherwise unremarkable features were made heroic and peerless by the magnificent robe.
"It's true that dogs like to bark," the young man said as he slowly strode forward, "but a *good* dog knows when to bark and when to stay quiet." His dazzling eyes rely glanced at Yang Hu before shifting away. They paused for a mont on Chen Yang, then looked toward the distant mountains. He had the deanor of a dashing gentleman who had simply stepped out to enjoy the snowy scenery and had only intervened because he happened upon a scene he couldn't ignore.
By repeatedly calling Yang Hu a dog, he elevated his own stature in the eyes of the crowd.
"You look angry," the young man said with a smirk, seeing Yang Hu's intense stare. "But if you knew who I was, I wonder if a dog like you would still have the courage to look at that way."
"I," he announced, pinching the cigar between his thumb and forefinger and tapping the ash off with his middle finger, "am Chen Xin. A young master of the Chen Family, one of the Four Great Imperial Clans."
His declaration stunned the crowd for a mont before they erupted into a cacophony of discussion.
"So it's Mr. Chen of the Chen Family! A mber of the Imperial Clan has finally stepped in!"
"Mr. Chen, these two have gone too far! They're forcing us to strip in public! You must bring us justice!"
"Kill these two bastards! They don't have the self-awareness of the trash they are! Their deaths would be no loss!"
The initial shock was quickly drowned out by a wave of denunciation and curses. With the arrival of the Chen Family's young master, those who had been about to strip now looked as if they had seen their savior. They began shouting embellished accusations, determined to see Chen Yang and Yang Hu dead.
"So overbearing?"
Though he appeared calm and composed, Chen Xin was thoroughly enjoying the flattery, the corners of his mouth quirking up. He extended his pinky in an affected gesture, tapping his red robe. "Are you saying that I, Chen Xin, should also strip off my clothes right here?"
At his words, everyone in fine clothes straightened their backs, their faces twisting into gleeful, mocking sneers.
"Yeah, keep acting tough! Where'd all that arrogance go?"
"I'll just stand here and watch you et your miserable end. You're nothing."
A burst of curses rose from the clamoring crowd.
Yang Hu, however, just tilted his head thoughtfully before sneering. "Don't flatter yourself. You're just related to the Chen Family by marriage. What kind of young master are you?"
He added, "Your boasting is embarrassing to watch."
The smile on Chen Xin's face faltered. He was, indeed, related only by marriage, his status a far cry from direct descendants like Chen Xiao. It was precisely for this reason he put so much effort into his appearance, wanting outsiders to see him as exceptional and dignified. But what is this?
"Heh…" Chen Xin laughed, standing less than five ters from Yang Hu. "What's this? Did being a dog give you a superiority complex? A re dog dares to mock ?"
His voice rose an octave. "Say it! Do I have to take off these clothes or not?!"
His words were fierce and aggressive.
Chen Yang, who had been silent the entire ti, simply tossed his broadsword to Yang Hu.
The crowd fell silent, as did Chen Xin.
That guy is determined to be shocking! Does he really think he's the sa Chen Yang as before, soone who could kill whover he pleased?
Chen Yang paid them no more mind and walked straight toward the mourning hall.
"You bastard, you were lucky to escape last ti! If Chen Hua hadn't been diating all this ti, do you think you'd still be alive?" Chen Xin laughed, furious. Am I being ignored by a cripple?
His eyes turned cold and disdainful. "A cripple, putting on an act in front of ? Today, I'll take your head and bring it back to the Chen Family for a reward!"
The only reason he had ignored Chen Yang until now was to feel superior to the Forr Chief Military Commander, the great Descendant of the Chen Family.
But now... I rember clearly, that bastard didn't even glance at this whole ti! And his attitude just now... what does he take for? A dog to be slaughtered at will? Heh.
Chen Xin's rage boiled over. He hadn't been so disrespected in decades.
"You don't need to take off your clothes," Yang Hu said, giving the broadsword a shake and flashing a devilish smile. "Because I'm going to chop off your head."
WHOOSH!
Without another word, Chen Xin's body surged forward in a howl of wind and rolling sound waves.
Yang Hu simply raised his hand, bringing the broadsword down in a powerful chop.
SLICE!
Chen Xin, who had been sneering cruelly just a mont before, suddenly froze. A flash of light from the blade, and the arm he had just extended was sliced clean off.
"Trash like you dares to be insolent in front of ?" Yang Hu snarled, stepping forward and seizing him by the neck.
"You… you…" Chen Xin's face twisted as he struggled. "Do you know who I am?! You'd better let go right now!"
"I specialize in killing dogs like you," Yang Hu retorted. His hand rose, and the blade fell.
He spat on the ground.
The entire crowd was stunned into absolute silence.
That… that's the fourteenth realm, Ten Thousand Phenona Senluo?!
