The Dao Sect Yin Talisman, also known as the Heavenly Secrets Scripture, is a part of the sa tradition as the Orthodox Unity Celestial Masters.
The so-called Yin Talisman.
A talisman signifies a contract.
*To observe the way of Heaven, to hold the way of Heaven, is everything.*
"To put it simply, so highly skilled individuals use talismans to simulate the workings of heaven and earth's laws," Qin Hao explained. "This is what's ant by 'Heaven gives birth, Heaven kills; such is the way of the Dao.'"
Chen Yang and Yang Hu looked at each other, bewildered. They hadn't understood a single word.
SMACK.
Yang Hu slapped Qin Hao on the forehead again. "Get to the point!" he snapped. "What exactly do these symbols an, and can you unlock the secrets within these two swords? If you can't, hurry up and call your master."
Chen Yang stared at Qin Hao, waiting for him to continue.
Qin Hao clutched his forehead, glaring fiercely at Yang Hu. "This is just a low-grade Yin Talisman. Of course, I can break it!" he grimaced. "Besides, my master isn't even as skilled as I am."
"Oh, listen to you, getting all smug." Although Yang Hu's words were teasing, he patted Qin Hao's shoulder. "I always knew you were a prodigy. The future of the Daoist arts rests on your shoulders to carry forward and glorify."
"So, shall we get started?"
Though Chen Yang remained silent, his excitent and anticipation were just as strong as Yang Hu's. Liu Qingi had specifically ntioned these two Ancestral Swords, stating outright that they contained a secret. Unlocking this secret would undoubtedly be a great help.
"Brother Chen, I need your blood," said Qin Hao.
Chen Yang nodded. Just as he was about to prick his finger, Qin Hao placed a teacup in front of him. "Fill it up."
Chen Yang and Yang Hu were both left speechless.
Seeing Qin Hao roll up his sleeves, looking like he was ready to get rough, the corner of Yang Hu's mouth twitched. "Kid, are you trying to slaughter a pig?"
Slaughter a pig?
Black lines instantly appeared on Chen Yang's forehead. What is this guy even saying?
Yang Hu, realizing his poor choice of words, gave an embarrassed smile and gestured for Qin Hao to continue.
With a bowl of blood and a wolf-hair brush, Qin Hao began drawing one complex talisman after another on the floor. They looked very similar to the ones on the sword hilts, but upon closer inspection, each was unique.
After half an hour, twelve talismans ford a circle on the floor.
Finally, Qin Hao wiped the sweat from his brow with his forearm. "Place the two swords in the center."
Yang Hu hurriedly complied.
HUFF!
Qin Hao exhaled, his hands forming seals as he began to mutter an incantation. In an instant, the young Daoist's entire deanor changed, becoming profound and unfathomable, like a true reclusive master.
*"Theft of the myriad things of heaven and earth, theft among the myriad creatures, and creatures thieving from the myriad things. The chanism of theft is seen everywhere under the heavens…"*
*"The chanism is in the eye, the eye in the heart. The heart connects to the divine, and the divine reaches heaven and earth."*
Qin Hao's hands ford a seal. Pointing sharply at the talismans on the ground, he roared, "Converge!"
TZZT!
The mont he spoke, threads of blood oozed from the glaring talismans. All flowing in the sa direction with the sa target, they crawled toward the hilts of the Ancestral Swords. In an instant, the circle of talismans transford, constructing what looked like a spider's web of straight, crimson lines that were piercing to the eye.
It took only a few seconds. Every groove of the engraved talismans on the sword hilts was filled with blood.
VWOOM!
A monstrous wave of blood-colored energy burst forth, becoming the only color in the room. Even Chen Yang instinctively raised a hand to shield his eyes. It was too dazzling, like being subrged in a pool of blood.
"By the sacred laws, I command you!"
Qin Hao shouted again, his hand seals changing rapidly. The blood-red light converged, leaving a single, massive talisman spinning in mid-air.
"Gather!"
The single word was like a thunderclap erupting from a clear sky.
BOOM!
The talisman in the air plumted downward. The ground trembled violently, and the entire villa seed to shake with it.
CLANG.
Imdiately after, a single sword stood perfectly upright on its tip, as if defying gravity.
"This…"
As his vision cleared, Yang Hu stared, dumbfounded.
There was only one sword before them. It was a size larger than the previous Ancestral Swords, and its body was wrapped in a faint golden glow. The dark brown hilt was still adorned with images of flowers, birds, fish, and insects, but now, there was only a single talisman. The intricate talisman seed to possess a spirit of its own; when you stared at it, it felt like it was staring back.
"My god, could this be a Superior Treasure?" Yang Hu finally managed to speak, his throat tight. His eyes were wide and round; in his entire life, he had never seen such an extraordinary and imposing sword.
HUFF! HUFF!
Qin Hao panted heavily, his face deathly pale, yet he was incredibly excited. "If I'm not mistaken, this should be a Spiritual Artifact! A re Treasure Weapon wouldn't require using the Dao Sect's Yin Talisman to steal the qi of heaven and earth to conceal its true form."
At this, Qin Hao shook his head with imnse relief. "Fortunately, whoever did this only used a low-grade Yin Talisman. Otherwise, I'm afraid only soone from the Dao Sect of Yuning Mountain could have broken the seal."
"A Spiritual Artifact," Chen Yang breathed, astonished. He had only heard of such items, which were said to be superior to Treasure Weapons.
Treasure Weapons, Spiritual Artifacts. There were even rumors of Divine Instrunts that existed above Spiritual Artifacts. At first, Chen Yang had thought it was remarkable that Treasure Weapons even still existed in this era. He assud anything beyond that had been lost to the river of history, surviving only in ancient texts. But now it seed his own horizons were too narrow and his experience too limited.
"Brother Chen, try it!" Qin Hao urged, unable to contain his excitent.
HSSS!
Chen Yang took a deep breath, raised his right hand, and slowly reached out.
SWOOSH.
The sword, as if sensing him, flew on its own and landed in his hand. The grip felt smooth and warm, yet it emanated a sharp aura that seed to slice the very air. The imnse power contained within was especially heart-pounding.
So strong!
If he compared it to his Traveling Dragon Sword, the two were on completely different levels. It was like comparing the heavens to the earth.
「At the sa ti.」
Far away, at the Chen Family estate by the Qingyuan River. The rain poured in a torrential downpour, causing the river to swell.
Chen Shangwu stood outside the main gate of the Chen residence with his hands clasped behind his back, letting the wind and rain lash his face.
TAP! TAP! TAP!
Urgent footsteps approached from behind. "Sovereign, the Ancestral Sword…"
"I know." A faint smile touched Chen Shangwu's lips. "I knew it. Only in Chen Yang's hands could the Ancestral Sword regain the splendor of our ancestors' ti. That'll give the Imperial Clan a real problem to deal with!"
Chen Hua stepped forward. Gazing at the churning waves of the Qingyuan River, he said gravely, "We have news that people from Biluo Sword Valley have also entered the fray."
"What's there to fear?!" Chen Shangwu's profound eyes narrowed into slits. "This only proves that Chen Yang is stronger than before! And our Chen Family is not to be trifled with!"
"Of course," Chen Hua declared, standing tall with unwavering resolve.
"Send out the word! Prepare for battle imdiately!"
"Yes!!"
