"Who is this woman? Demanding to clear the place the mont she arrives?"
"Keep your voice down! She's from Windwelco Academy. If you value your life, you'd better keep your mouth shut!"
CLATTER! The sound of chairs scraping and dishes clashing echoed through the restaurant as, one by one, patrons looked toward the newly arrived master and disciple with fawning expressions.
The young woman wore a cyan gown, her hair tied in a ponytail. With her hands clasped behind her back, her narrowed eyes, filled with an extre arrogance, swept a cold gaze across the room. Standing beside her was a man in his forties with an indifferent expression, slowly fanning himself with a folding fan.
The restaurant owner rushed over at the sound of the commotion, his face initially clouded with annoyance. But upon seeing the two newcors, his anger instantly vanished, replaced by an expression of extre sycophancy.
"So, it is the esteed dignitaries from Windwelco Academy! My sincerest apologies for the poor reception." The portly owner bowed repeatedly, his posture so low he nearly touched the floor.
"Get all this riffraff out of here. When we dine, we don't want irrelevant people around ruining my appetite," the young woman ordered the owner.
In truth, the owner didn't even need to drive them out. One after another, the diners put down their money and scrambled to leave. The woman was undeniably domineering, but they knew they were no match for her. To avoid trouble, they could only leave obediently. So people were simply beyond their ability to offend.
Chen Yang paid them no mind, his fingers curled around his cup as he gazed out the window at the bustling street.
Shen Shaotian and Liu Qingi also remained silent, showing no intention of leaving. A full table of dishes had just arrived. Why should they leave? On what grounds?
"Gentlen, please make way. This establishnt has been reserved by the dignitaries of Windwelco Academy." Seeing that Chen Yang's party hadn't moved, the restaurant owner hurried over. His brow furrowed slightly as he tried to persuade them with a modicum of patience.
"We were here first," Shen Shaotian said lightly, tapping the table. "We'll leave when we've finished eating."
"You're putting in a difficult position," the owner whined, but his voice was suddenly much louder, his words echoing throughout the hall.
Chen Yang rely smiled, a faint smirk touching the corners of his lips.
What a clever way to divert the trouble onto us.
As expected, the woman in cyan turned her gaze upon them, her eyes cold and sharp. "What's the aning of this? There are still shaless creatures who plan to dine in the sa room as us from Windwelco Academy? They should take a good look in the mirror and see what kind of trash they are. Do they really think they're worthy of being near us?"
The woman sneered, not naming anyone in particular. "Get out now, or don't bla , Qiao Ziyun, for being ruthless." Her tone was frigid, dripping with haughtiness and condescension.
The restaurant owner quickly chid in, "This al is on the house. Please, leave imdiately. You're not welco here."
Windwelco Academy... Qiao Ziyun? Chen Yang glanced at Shen Shaotian.
Shen Shaotian shook his head, indicating he wasn't familiar with them. Although they were all from the Three Valleys and Six Courts, interactions were infrequent. Given the vastness of Yuning Mountain, it was normal to have never crossed paths.
However… Does this woman, Qiao Ziyun, have a terrible temper? Or is she just used to this arrogant and domineering behavior?
"Co, let's drink," Shen Shaotian said, raising his cup.
Chen Yang smiled and clinked his cup against his.
The restaurant owner stared in disbelief. Are they actually going to stand up to Windwelco Academy?
"I advise you not to cling to your worthless pride," the owner continued. "Windwelco Academy is not an existence you can afford to provoke. It's best if you just leave."
"Hah!"
Not only was the owner losing his patience, but Qiao Ziyun's rather delicate face turned frigid, her eyes darkening with nace. "What kind of trash insists on staying here? Are you hoping to gain so bragging rights by saying you ate in the sa room as people from Windwelco Academy? Are you that naive, or do you think I, Qiao Ziyun, am a pushover?"
"My Lady, please, calm your anger." The restaurant owner was frantic. If a fight broke out, his hard-earned restaurant would be torn to pieces. In the end, he would be the one to suffer.
Then, he turned to Chen Yang's group and warned, "Gentlen, forgive my bluntness, but if you truly anger the people from Windwelco Academy, you'll be signing your own death warrant. Be smart and leave quickly."
"Make them get the hell out!" Qiao Ziyun added sharply.
"Yes, yes." The restaurant owner nodded repeatedly before turning back. "You see? They are graciously not holding you responsible for causing a scene. Why aren't you leaving already? Don't act so brazen when you're already in over your head. If you wear out their patience, you won't even know what killed you."
However, Chen Yang finally spoke, his voice calm. "First co, first served. Don't you understand that? Anyone with a bit of upbringing knows to remain quiet while others are eating."
The restaurant owner was speechless.
Qiao Ziyun was speechless.
What is the aning of this? Not only are they refusing to leave, but they're also calling us ill-mannered?
"Putting on an act. Do you really think I, Qiao Ziyun, am a pushover?" Qiao Ziyun's temper flared. In all her life, she had never t anyone so stubborn, like a rock in a latrine pit—dense and courting death.
In an instant, the atmosphere grew tense, ready to explode.
THUD. THUD. THUD.
Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed, growing closer.
Huh?
Everyone turned their heads in confusion just as a troop of Silver Armored Guards stord into view. Silver armor, black capes, and massive pikes—it was an imposing sight. A dense, murderous aura instantly filled every inch of the restaurant.
"This is..."
Everyone was taken aback. Why were the Silver Armored Guards from the City Lord's Mansion here?
"You!" While the room was still reeling in shock, the Commander of the guards pointed directly at Chen Yang. "Co with us!"
Instantly, every pair of eyes in the room shot toward Chen Yang.
Chen Yang, however, was still shoveling rice into his mouth from a bowl. He rely glanced up for a mont before ignoring them completely.
"Heh..." Qiao Ziyun snickered from the side. "I have never in my life seen soone put on such an act. Daring to ignore the Silver Armored Guards... you've really got so nerve!"
The other patrons, recovering from their astonishnt, couldn't help but wonder. Who on earth is this guy?
"Seize him!" the Commander barked, leveling his pike at Chen Yang.
BANG.
Chen Yang set down his bowl and chopsticks.
BOOM!
The Silver Armored Guards had just started toward Chen Yang when they were hit by a sudden blast of wind. Before they could react, a deafening explosion roared like thunder striking right beside them. Then, their silver armor shattered, and blood sprayed everywhere.
The Commander stood wide-eyed and dumbstruck. Everywhere he looked, his guards were lying in pools of their own blood, wailing and writhing in agony. He instinctively looked up and saw Chen Yang leisurely sipping a cup of tea, his expression calm and content.
This…
"Who sent you?" Chen Yang asked.
The Commander was too stunned to answer.
