580: Chapter 580: Accepting an Apprentice 580: Chapter 580: Accepting an Apprentice Benefiting from growing up in a family of traditional Chinese dicine practitioners, Xiong Yingxiong had been deeply influenced since childhood and knew quite a bit about the field.

According to Xiong Yingxiong, he had studied diligently at school and also received guidance from his father at ho.

Occasionally, he would even practice in his family’s clinic, which enabled him to achieve so modest success in traditional Chinese dicine.

Calling it “modest success,” Xiong Yingxiong still felt sowhat proud when he spoke of these accomplishnts.

However, after delving deeper into the subject of Chinese dicine, Xiong Yingxiong soon realized that what he had learned was child’s play compared to Fang Bai—it was hardly worth ntioning.

The way Fang Bai talked about traditional Chinese dicine made Xiong Yingxiong realize for the first ti how profound and mysterious it could be.

So concepts were even new to him, while others were only known in the legends of the dical community.

For instance, using Qigong in dical treatnt was a practice that existed in ancient tis and had proven very effective.

However, with the advent of modern science and technology and various other reasons, the so-called Qigong therapy in Chinese dicine had nearly been lost to ti.

Even when occasionally a “Qigong master” appeared, they were mostly frauds.

However, Xiong Yingxiong had once heard from his father that in today’s Huaxia, there were five Ancient dicine Sects that still preserved Qigong therapy, and their disciples were adept in both dicine and martial arts.

Xiong Yingxiong greatly aspired to join an Ancient dicine Sect to master dical skills, to hold the power to heal, and to save the common people, but he was frustrated by the lack of connections.

Xiong Yingxiong’s father had sent his son to Yanjing dical University to study traditional Chinese dicine because all four National Doctors of Huaxia were in Yanjing.

Moreover, there was the Doctor Pavilion in Yanjing, which was said to be one of the five Ancient dicine Sects.

His father hoped that, by so lucky chance, his son might catch the eye of one of the National Doctors or the Doctor Pavilion Sect and receive their favor and guidance.

In discussing the philosophy of Chinese dicine with Xiong Yingxiong, Fang Bai was also subtly instructing him.

Seeing that Xiong Yingxiong was listening attentively, lost in thought, and would even occasionally respond with a question, Fang Bai knew he was absorbing the information.

He nodded to himself, thinking the young man was indeed teachable.

After Fang Bai finished speaking, Xiong Yingxiong felt he had benefited greatly and was filled with admiration for Fang Bai.

He asked, “Brother, do you also know how to perform Qigong therapy?”

He had just heard Fang Bai ntion that so complicated human diseases couldn’t be cured by dical expertise alone and that “Qigong” was required to assist the treatnt.

This had greatly piqued his interest.

Fang Bai nodded with a smile and replied, “Well, what is referred to as Qigong is essentially the True Yuan produced by Martial Artists of the Ancient Martial World through Cultivation.

As an ordinary person who’s never been exposed to Ancient Martial arts, it’s normal for you not to know this!

You just have to understand that a practitioner of Chinese dicine who isn’t trained both dically and martially is destined to have limited prospects, only able to treat minor ailnts.

Faced with serious diseases, they’ll be helpless and eventually have to rely on Western dicine to solve the problem!”

Xiong Yingxiong scratched his head, saying, “I’ve learned so martial arts too and should also be considered a Martial Artist, right?

But why don’t I have any True Yuan?”

Fang Bai couldn’t help but laugh, “To be honest, the martial arts you’ve learned…

are just amateurish skills.

Coming up against a real Ancient Martial practitioner, they could take your life with just a finger!

And True Yuan is developed through Cultivation of certain techniques that have been handed down.

Have you cultivated any such techniques?”

Xiong Yingxiong shook his head, saying, “No.

When I was at the Martial Arts School, it was all about punching bags and learning so grappling and fighting techniques.

I’ve never even heard of Cultivation techniques!”

After a pause, with a sycophantic look on his face and a sheepish grin, he said, “Um…

Brother, could you teach how to cultivate Qigong…

no, I an True Yuan!

Can you teach how to cultivate True Yuan?

I’m willing to pay for the lessons…

or even beco your disciple if that’s what it takes!”

Fang Bai said, “I don’t lack money!

However, I do have room for more disciples…

If you truly are sincere about learning dicine and martial arts from , then take as your master.”

“Deal!”

Convinced by Fang Bai’s words, Xiong Yingxiong, a man of action, imdiately stood up and knelt down before Fang Bai in the aisle of the train carriage, respectfully kowtowing three tis.

The other passengers in the carriage watched this scene and found it amusing, unable to comprehend what the two young people were up to.

Seated at the back, three skinny youths curled their lips into a sneer, revealing a look of cruelty and mockery in their eyes.

About an hour into the journey, the train stopped at an interdiate station, where passengers got on and off.

Just then, the three skinny youths exchanged glances and stood up simultaneously.

They slowly approached Xiong Yingxiong, walking down the center aisle of the carriage.

“I’m going to hit the restroom!” Fang Bai stood up and walked toward the three skinny youths.

As they brushed past each other, Fang Bai’s left hand lightly flicked a few tis, touching each of the three skinny youths with a finger.

Then, with a smile on his lips, he headed towards the train’s restroom.

The three skinny youths didn’t notice anything unusual.

They reached Xiong Yingxiong, and the one in front suddenly pulled out a folding knife from his pocket.

With a casual flick, he revealed half a foot of the blade and, amidst the screams and shouts of the surrounding passengers, stabbed it towards Xiong Yingxiong.

Xiong Yingxiong, engrossed in playing with his phone, hadn’t paid attention to the three skinny youths approaching him.

Only after hearing the screams did he suddenly look up and see the flash of a knife.

Startled, he instinctively dodged to the side.

After all, he was soone who had practiced martial arts for a few years and had been in more than a few fights, gaining so real combat experience.

As he dodged to the side, he lifted his right leg and fiercely kicked towards the abdon of the skinny youth in front of him.

The skinny youth was about to stab Xiong Yingxiong with his knife when suddenly his body convulsed as if electrocuted.

The knife in his right hand clattered to the ground.

Imdiately after, his abdon was hit by Xiong Yingxiong’s kick.

In pain, he burst into tears and snot, collapsing to the ground and curling up like a shrimp.

“Damn it!”

“I’ll slaughter you!”

Seeing their companion kicked down, the remaining two skinny youths didn’t back down.

Instead, they were enraged, their eyes flashing fiercely, their faces cruel.

They each pulled out a folding knife and, one after the other, stabbed towards Xiong Yingxiong.

However, unknown to them, they fell under the sa spell as their fellow had fallen under.

Barely extending their knives, still far from Xiong Yingxiong’s body, they began to tremble violently.

They were similarly kicked down by Xiong Yingxiong, curling up unable to stand.

The sudden incident caused chaos in the carriage, with cries and shouts echoing all around.

So passengers, worried about getting involved, stood up and ran to the next carriage.

Soon, several fully ard train police arrived, so carrying guns, so holding batons, and others with handcuffs.

A few passengers cautiously approached the three skinny youths on the ground, seeing that they were limp and had lost their ability to resist, they finally relaxed.

They handcuffed the three and then took them away.
