_1 1897: Chapter 1917: Do you…
want to stay?
_1 Yao Xiong was busy eting with major forces, leaving Lin Chen with so free ti.
Gu Yuexi had stayed on the ship for two days, too shy to stay longer, she quietly excused herself.
Purple Cloud Immortal Lord was healing her wounds, so Lin Chen spent his days with Yao Xuanji.
The two didn’t exchange sweet nothings.
Instead, they drank tea, chatted, played chess, or prepared a delicious al together, much like a typical couple spending their weekend.
The day before they set off, Lin Chen and Yao Xuanji were having tea and playing chess until it gradually got dark.
Yao Xuanji asked, “Are you leaving tomorrow?”
Lin Chen nodded, “Yes, I’m going to take a tour of the Heavenly Demon Continent.”
Yao Xuanji pursed her lips, “With Sister Ziyun accompanying you, I won’t join you.
Take care of yourself.”
Lin Chen laughed, “Don’t worry, she’s an Immortal Monarch, incredibly strong.
Also, Sister Qi is there, and the Dragon Chant Sword seals the Ancestral Dragon.
I can’t feel any more secure!”
Yao Xuanji laughed too.
Indeed, what was there to worry about with Purple Cloud Immortal Lord and Qi by his side?
Even if they were up against the most dangerous enemy or environnt and couldn’t win, they could definitely keep Lin Chen safe and pull off an escape.
Not to ntion, Lin Chen himself was a master of escape!
After finishing a ga of chess, Lin Chen stood up to leave.
Yao Xuanji bit her lip and whispered, “Do you…want to stay?”
Lin Chen was slightly taken aback.
He turned to see Yao Xuanji’s face turn bright red, her eyes avoiding his.
Lin Chen stepped forward and embraced Yao Xuanji.
Yao Xuanji went limp, resting within Lin Chen’s arms.
She knew what it would an if Lin Chen chose to stay.
However, Lin Chen didn’t take her to bed.
Instead, he held her tightly in his arms.
“Xuanji, wait for to co back.
At a better ti, when we are alone…”
Yao Xuanji felt a surge of emotion.
She understood.
Lin Chen didn’t want their first ti to be so rushed, especially since she had just t Gu Yuexi and Purple Cloud Immortal Lord was nearby.
Her emotions were complex: shy, anxious, and uneasy.
Lin Chen intended to be intimate with her in a much more comfortable environnt, when they truly possessed each other, rather than here on the ship like so thieves.
Whether Purple Cloud Immortal Lord was watching was uncertain, but Yao Xiong was most certainly keeping an eye on them.
“Okay!”
Yao Xuanji, who had been sowhat impatient, felt her anxiety fade after hearing Lin Chen’s words.
Gu Yuexi was Lin Chen’s wife, no need to ntion that.
Purple Cloud Immortal Lord had a one-night stand with Lin Chen, and now they were going out together on the Heavenly Demon Continent.
Wasn’t that cohabitation?
Who knew if anything would change after their journey, so she wanted to surrender herself to Lin Chen that very night, solidifying their relationship and easing her uneasiness.
Lin Chen, understanding her, comforted Yao Xuanji in a different way, alleviating her anxieties.
Just as Lin Chen left Yao Xuanji’s room, Yao Xiong’s voice reached his ears.
“Kid, co down for a drink.”
Lin Chen rolled his eyes, Yao Xiong had called him out just as he left the room.
If that wasn’t proof he was being watched, then what was?
Thankfully, Lin Chen hadn’t done anything.
He wondered how Yao Xiong would react if he had.
Lin Chen descended and made his way to a pavilion at the edge of the deck.
Yao Xiong sat in the pavilion alone, a few dishes and a bowl of peanut kernels on the table, accompanied by a pot of wine.
The dishes hadn’t been touched, but half of the peanuts were gone.
The cup was filled with wine.
It seed Yao Xiong had been drinking quite so ti.
Lin Chen took a seat opposite Yao Xiong and asked, “Uncle Yao, drinking alone?”
Yao Xiong looked at Lin Chen in a complex way, “Why didn’t you stay?”
Being asked by a father why he didn’t sleep with his daughter made Lin Chen feel awkward.
He managed to laugh off the embarrassnt, “Uncle Yao, were you listening the whole ti?”
Yao Xiong nonchalantly stated, “I listened to what I was supposed to hear and ignored what I wasn’t supposed to hear.”
After pondering a bit, Lin Chen calmly replied, “The mood, the scene, the ti…was not right.”
Yao Xiong nodded.
The wine pot on the table filled an empty cup by itself, and the cup landed in front of Lin Chen.
“You’re a man, drink!”
Lin Chen picked up the wine cup, took a sip, and finally gave in to his curiosity, “If I had stayed, would you, Uncle Yao, kick off the ship?”
Yao Xiong shook his head, “I wouldn’t have stopped or interfered, however, I would have thought less of you.”
