Chapter 2929: Chapter 2949: Isn’t that us, one out of ten?

“Ninth Team, heed the order!”

“All mbers move, head beyond the defense line to take position!”

With the arrival of a military command, tens of thousands of people quickly sprang into action, moving across the sky in formation, as orderly as heavenly soldiers and generals.

They crossed the wilderness camp, the War God Mansion, the towering battlents, and then the city walls that stretched like continuous mountain ranges. They landed in designated areas and quickly set up simple camps.

Beyond the city walls lay the battlefield!

Here, without the protection of vast array formations, everyone, except for themselves, had no defense.

From now on, they were to face the Demon Race, face death itself!

Lin Chen glanced around, the small encampnts were set up one after another, seemingly endless.

“This can’t just be our Ninth Division, can it?”

Chi Ya replied, “It should be the entire First Corps. The intensity of the battle will determine the rotation. If the fighting is fierce, the rotation will be quick. It’s not possible to let one persist in the frontline continuously, since battles occur daily, and nobody can sustain without rest and recovery.”

Lin Chen asked, “Is Commander Jiang also here?”

Chi Ya said with a laugh, “He is the Army Commander, so he must be stationed here.”

Lin Chen said with a laugh, “Having heard the stories of the Army Commander, I want to see his style!”

Chen Shuihe said with a laugh, “You will definitely et him, but not now. After all, if the Army Commander is called to join the battle, that ans the situation has beco very critical.”

Everyone had just finished setting up camp when a dark and dense group of people flew across the horizon. Even before they were close, the terrifying breath had already overwheld the skies.

The Demon Race!

“Baili i is here; who cos to seek death?”

The oppressive presence of the Demon Race had not yet drawn near when their voices bood like thunder across the sky do, filled with wild authority.

Quickly, a team of a thousand from the First Corps rose to the sky to et the approaching foes.

Without any useless words, both sides imdiately comnced a bloody and violent slaughter.

The entire sky do seed almost to be pierced through, but it’s unknown if the spatial dinsion here overlapped with another; despite such fierce fighting, this continent, this space, amazingly held up and did not collapse.

In the fierce combat, so scread, heavily scarred as they fled the battlefield; others fought valiantly, bathed in blood; and so even had no chance to make a sound before they were completely annihilated, their lives and paths extinguished.

The battle lasted for almost half an hour. Victory and defeat were determined, with the Demon Race obviously gaining the upper hand, pressing forward furiously to try to crush the entire thousand-man team and devour them.

The fighting team from the Immortal Realm was exceptionally tenacious. They contracted their formation, protecting their injured comrades as they broke through towards the encampnt. After paying a significant price, they finally all managed to retreat back.

When they had set off, there had been a full thousand. After the battle, not more than four hundred returned to the camp unscathed, about four hundred were injured, and the other two hundred were completely buried in that fight.

Lin Chen watched this scene with a heavy heart.

This was just a skirmish between small teams, and yet the death toll had reached 20%, and 40% were injured—altogether, over half were casualties!

These four hundred injured, obviously, could not recover in just a few days to return to the battlefield. It can be said that this battle had nearly wiped out two-thirds of this small team!

It was too cruel!

Lin Chen knew that the deceased mbers of the team would be buried, the injured would be sent for treatnt, and the vacancies would quickly be filled by reservists before they awaited the next round of battle.

For a mont, this team would not go back to the battlefield; they would use this ti to train the newcors, integrate, and wait for their second chance to fight after being rotated.

In comparison, the number of deaths and injuries in the demon race team was significantly less, with about a hundred casualties and much fewer injured.

The battle was clearly won by the demon race.

The leader of the demon race team, Baili i, laughed heartily, “Immortals are nothing special, you might as well submit to the demon race quickly, to avoid death and eternal damnation!”

At this point, as Baili i’s demon team pursued the immortal team, they had co much closer to the camp, allowing Lin Chen to finally get a clear look at the appearance of the demon race.

Their stature was similar to that of the Human Clan, but the male demons were generally taller, typically over two ters, and robustly built; the most striking feature was their eyes, which were blood-red pupils, and they also had a single horn on their foreheads!

The female demons were sowhat shorter compared to the males, about the sa height as the humans, and appeared much more delicate; the horns on their heads were also much shorter.

Purely based on appearance, the male demons were mostly strong and majestic, while the females were charming and quite beautiful; however, those blood-red eyes made the males look fiercely aggressive, and the charming female faces with those eyes had a striking exotic beauty.

In the camp, another team of a thousand rose to the sky, confronting the demon team in the sky.

“I don’t care if you’re Baili or Qianli, if you continue making noise here, you might as well stay!”

The cold voice ca from the mouth of the immortal team leader, filled with a sky-high killing intent.

Seeing that the Immortal Realm had already dispatched a new team, Baili i no longer dared to act tough and snorted coldly, “Once I go back and replenish my forces, I will co and fight with you again!”

Baili i led his team to retreat, and the immortal team of a thousand did not pursue; after all, the skirmish just then was fair from a strategic perspective, and they had not yet reached the ti of an all-out battle without any rules.

Lin Chen, observing this scene, sighed lightly, “They have quite the rules, aren’t they scared that the opposing side might just assemble all their top experts in one team?”

Chen Shuihe explained, “The great battle between immortals and demons is a fight to the death involving millions from both sides; you can indeed assemble a team of a thousand superior pri Daluo immortals if you want, but others can do the sa. Then how would you compete?”

“Starting with a clash of the strongest, only to then tackle the lesser troops is obviously impractical.”

Lin Chen thought it made sense; which battlefield had the troops resting in the back while the generals ford teams and charged ahead, fiercely slaughtering the enemy?

Which ga of cards had you starting by throwing out all your jokers and pairs of twos imdiately, and only then playing the lesser cards slowly?

Lin Chen looked up at the new immortal team that had just soared into the sky, asking, “Which team is that? Based on where they ca from, it looks different from before.”

Chi Ya responded, “They rotate the battle order; it’s not like the first team’s ten squads will fight one after another—that would just wear out the first team completely. Normally, a few squads are selected from each large team to take turns; this way, even if there are so losses, the team’s combat power remains intact.”

“One or two out of ten?”

Lin Chen’s expression suddenly beca quite awkward, “When it is the Ninth Division’s turn, could it be that our three squads will be the ones to fight?”

At this remark, Everyone’s expressions changed.

Their attention had all been on the battle occurring above, coupled with the fact that since they had co, fighting was inevitable, they had not thought much about it until now.

If soone were to pick who would fight, was it even necessary to think about who Kong Wenlong, who was like picking bones from an egg, would send into battle?
