Lin Chen’s na flashed, and opposite him was a military contestant nad Han Gong.
Lin Chen’s eyes swept over other contestants’ prefixes, and he was surprised to find that Chenxing Logistics ranked fifth in terms of number of participants. The top four factions were Jinghai City’s official side and the three big families, each having five representatives.
Forty contestants, these five forces took twenty-four spots. Among the remaining forces, only a few had two contestants, while the others had only one.
Perhaps these forces only sent their top contestant, or maybe they simply had only one seventh-level combatant, as there aren’t many seventh-level powerhouses in Jinghai City.
Lin Chen looked at the light curtain and suddenly laughed, "Zhang Zhongjiu hasn’t returned. If he were here, with his talent, wouldn’t he easily secure first place?"
Chu Jiaxue replied, "He aims to return to Planet 11, and while the Warrior Tournant is an internal event of Planet 49, winning might bring honor to Jinghai City, but it likely won’t help him achieve his goal of returning to Planet 11."
Lin Chen thought for a mont and agreed that it was indeed an internal event. Winning first place only contributes to Jinghai City, not to the Federation.
"No wonder he chose to stay in the Heavenly God Realm. Nowadays, the Scientific Expedition Team’s assessnt on the Heavenly God Realm is crucial, as this might be reported to the Federation headquarters. These techniques could be applied across the Federation, and being part of this, he naturally has notable achievents."
While speaking, the draw was completed, and Yao Xuanji suddenly whispered, "I’m up against a Chen family mber."
Everyone turned to the light curtain and saw Yao Xuanji’s na.
"Chen. Chen Lingfeng—Chenxing Logistics. Yao Xuanji"
Lin Chen frowned, unsure of Chen Lingfeng’s strength, and turned to the middle-aged man beside him.
"Hey, big brother..."
If you don’t know, ask; isn’t that what your mouth is for?
The middle-aged man turned to Lin Chen, "What’s up?"
Lin Chen straightforwardly asked, "I’m new here and unfamiliar with Jinghai City’s experts. Is Chen’s Chen Lingfeng strong?"
The middle-aged man showed a look of surprise, clearly not expecting such a direct question given the contestants were already seated.
"Are you from Chenxing Logistics?"
Lin Chen grinned, "Yes, I’m Lin Chen, the one who fought with Chen’s Chen Xingdong before."
The middle-aged man instinctively glanced at the Chen family contestants before retracting his gaze, "The Chen family has a genealogy, and below the ’Xing’ generation is the ’Ling’ generation. I’m not sure about his strength, but Chen Lingfeng manages so affairs for the Chen family and is quite reputable with decent strength."
Lin Chen pressed on, "How does he compare to Chen Xingdong?"
The middle-aged man hesitated for a mont, "They haven’t faced off, but from rumors, within the younger generation, Chen Lingfeng’s strength shouldn’t surpass Chen Xingdong."
Lin Chen’s eyes suddenly brightened, and he turned back, "Did you hear that? He might be weaker than Chen Xingdong, don’t be afraid, just hit him."
The middle-aged man’s expression looked strange; this guy is too direct, isn’t he?
He doesn’t care about others’ opinions at all?
Lin Chen asked again, "Five contestants from the Lin family, who’s the strongest?"
The middle-aged man looked at the light curtain and answered without hesitation, "Chen Zhenyuan, the ’Zhen’ generation is two generations above ’Xing’. He’s undoubtedly the first in the Chen family."
Lin Chen also checked the light curtain, seeing Chen Zhenyuan’s na facing a contestant from the Lei family.
"How powerful is he?"
The middle-aged man replied, "Reportedly, his strength is in the late seventh level, maybe even peak, but the exact level is unclear, as he hasn’t made a move in a long ti."
Lin Chen nodded and continued to ask, "How many seventh-level warriors does the Chen family have?"
The middle-aged man pondered, "If the Chen family has no hidden forces, there should be seven."
Lin Chen thanked him, "Thank you, big brother, how should I address you?"
The middle-aged man replied, "Liang Jinnan, Colonel of the third regint in the City Defense Army."
Lin Chen’s eyes lit up, "My apologies for not recognizing you."
Liang Jinnan waved his hand and laughed, "Your spaceti logistics is comndable and could be extrely useful during warti or other special situations."
Lin Chen laughed, "We’re just newcors, not sure what to do. Just trying our small skills, the results seem okay, though there are lots of initial hurdles."
Liang Jinnan laughed, "After this tournant, even if you lose, at least in Jinghai City, no one will be hindering your business. If you make it to the finals and secure a good position, resistance in other cities will lessen significantly."
Lin Chen laughed, "That’s what I hope for, but judging by this setup, it won’t be easy."
Liang Jinnan chuckled, "Just participate, showcase your strengths; losing isn’t shaful."
Lin Chen curiously asked, "This Warrior Tournant isn’t held for the first ti. Who were the winners in past tournants, and who are the known powerhouses of Jinghai City?"
Liang Jinnan replied, "The City Lord is very strong, but can’t compete due to her position. As for other powerhouses, I’ll tell you about the last Warrior Tournant results."
Lin Chen and others perked up.
"The last tournant’s winner was Zhuang Liqun, the head instructor of the City Defense Army, overseeing the entire special training. He is the top military figure in Jinghai City."
"Second place was Lei Leiheng from the Lei family."
"Third place was Chen Zhenyuan, the most powerful person in the Chen family, as I ntioned earlier."
"Fourth place was Qiao Fan, founder of Yunfan Martial Arts Hall."
Lin Chen was slightly surprised, "Chen Zhenyuan is so strong, ranking third?"
Liang Jinnan nodded, "Yes, if you encounter him, surrender quickly. Your conflict with the Chen family ans he’ll go all out on you."
Lin Chen nodded decisively, "Okay!"
After a pause, Lin Chen turned to the other three won, "You heard that, try it out; if it doesn’t work, withdraw, don’t push yourselves. Others are eager to deal with us."
The three won all nodded.
Their purpose in participating was to demonstrate Chenxing Logistics’ strength, not necessarily to win, so they had no strong attachnt to victory.
If they lose, so be it, safety first.
If they can’t beat them one-on-one now, being able to protect themselves generally is enough.
Not being able to win now doesn’t an losing in the future.
As they were speaking, the first team of contestants took the stage.
