Previously, Lin Chen had only traveled on the Star River Battleship to and from the Heavenly God Realm. This ti, he was on a transport-oriented Flying Ship.
The forr was equipped with various fully-loaded energy weapons, while the latter had at most one or two weapons plus an Energy Shield, with low Combat Power.
Lin Chen found that there were many differences between the two. At the very least, the Flying Ship couldn’t jump at will like the Star Core Battleship; it had to fly to a predetermined location and input the pre-set coordinates for a safe jump.
Because of this, the travel ti was much longer.
Lin Chen and the others were not in a hurry, passing the ti by playing mahjong on the ship.
A month later, the Flying Ship reached the jump point. After a wormhole jump and another month of travel, they finally arrived at the target Star System.
When the planet appeared at the far end of the view, Ning Xiuzhu ordered the Flying Ship to stop.
"Just stop here. If anything happens, we can escape back here. Any closer, the ship might be in danger."
"Alright!"
Although Ning Xiuzhu was excellent in scientific research, he wasn’t strong in warrior cultivation. Compared to Lin Chen and the others, he was a weakling among weaklings, a novice among novices.
Lin Chen placed Ning Xiuzhu into the Void Pearl, and then the four of them left the Flying Ship, heading towards that planet.
Four streaks of light pierced through the starry sky, quickly approaching this enormous planet.
This planet was super large, at least a thousand tis bigger than Planet 49, and it appeared entirely red.
The four floated in the starry sky, not rushing to descend.
"Looking at it this way, this planet seems like a Dead Planet, with nothing particularly noteworthy compared to other planets..."
The four individuals expanded their senses, yet they couldn’t detect any life signals.
"No discovery, let’s go down. It seems just looking won’t reveal anything unusual."
Lin Chen said with a laugh, "Wait."
Soon, several of Lin Chen’s Avatars appeared in front of the eyes, flying towards the ground.
This was a probing thod.
Lin Chen and the others had encountered many strange events already; they didn’t dare assu that the ground was safe just because they couldn’t sense anything with their Divine Sense.
The best thod was still actual exploration.
If there truly was sothing powerful hidden, seeing Lin Chen’s Avatars getting close, these hidden entities would surely not be able to contain themselves.
The Avatars landed steadily on the planet’s surface, each flying rapidly in one direction, circling a large loop before flying back into the Sky.
"Seems like everything’s fine. Go!"
Lin Chen and the other four descended to the planet’s surface, landing on a red hill.
This hill wasn’t very high, only a few hundred ters. The red rocks on it had beco quite smooth, and at the bottom of the hill was an endless red Sand Sea.
Lin Chen released Ning Xiuzhu, and Ning Xiuzhu stood on the hillside, looking up.
"Where is this?"
Lin Chen laughed and said, "As you can see, on a mountain peak surrounded by Sand Sea. I’ve had people scout hundreds of miles around, and no movent detected. We can’t sense any life forms either."
Ning Xiuzhu asked, "Is there any higher place?"
Lin Chen turned and said, "This is already the most prominent place. If not here, we’d probably have to swim in the Sand Sea."
Ning Xiuzhu laughed and said, "Alright, let’s set up the research station here for now, to study the surrounding area before thinking about other things."
Lin Chen summoned the Void Pearl and directly released the research station.
This was a complete research station, equipped with various advanced detection devices, including intelligent robots, Flying Surveillance Caras, and other intelligent equipnt.
Once the research station was set up here, it could cover a vast range and use technological ans to conduct various studies.
The research station opened, and Lin Chen and the others all went inside.
Ning Xiuzhu launched the intelligent eagle-eye micro-robots, and soon the large surrounding area appeared on the monitoring screen.
Ning Xiuzhu thodically conducted basic research. Originally, this work needed robots, but Lin Chen and the others were obviously much more useful than robots.
They didn’t need Oxygen, could fly freely, and were incredibly fast.
"Lin Chen, help dig into the Sand Sea’s surface and see what’s underneath..."
"Alright!"
Lin Chen flew out of the research station, moving so distance away, and casually struck the area with his Palm.
"Boom!"
The Sand Sea exploded imdiately, revealing a huge crater.
Lin Chen glanced, and it wasn’t all Sand Sea.
Only a few tens of ters thick sand, but below that was still fractured rock layers.
"Help collect so samples from the rock layers below."
Following Ning Xiuzhu’s instructions, Lin Chen quickly collected the samples and brought them back.
Ning Xiuzhu placed the samples into a machine, which operated automatically, conducting an automatic analysis on the rock layers.
Ning Xiuzhu folded his arms, looking at the analysis results on the light curtain, frowning.
Lin Chen observed Ning Xiuzhu’s expression and curiously asked, "Doctor, is sothing wrong?"
Ning Xiuzhu shook his head, "No."
Lin Chen laughed and said, "Then why do you have this expression?"
Ning Xiuzhu responded with a wry smile, "Because everything seems normal, that’s why I’m puzzled. All the data indicates this planet shouldn’t have any life forms. If so, how did the previous adventurer and the subsequent searchers encounter distress? Where did we receive the unknown signal from?"
Nalan Wushuang interjected, "Could it be so extre environnt of this planet, like sandstorms? Or perhaps so unique phenonon causing those who ca to be trapped here, unable to transmit ssages, eventually leading to their deaths here?"
"That’s possible."
Ning Xiuzhu replied, "This could indeed trap the two groups who ca, but how do we explain the signal?"
Lin Chen naturally didn’t know the answer and asked, "What do we do next?"
Ning Xiuzhu thought for a mont, "This planet is too large. The observation station can only cover a small area. We need to change locations more and see if there’s anything different on this planet."
Lin Chen agreed readily, "Then let’s wait. I’ll have people search around the entire planet, but of course, this will take so ti."
Ning Xiuzhu laughed and said, "No rush, now that we’re here, we must find the truth."
Lin Chen nodded, "Then we’ll wait."
Lin Chen sent out a few more Avatars, dispersing them in different directions.
Although they weren’t as good as Lin Chen’s original form, even as Avatars, they at least had the Strength of Saints, flying incredibly fast.
The planet is vast, and even with many Avatars searching together, it would take quite so ti.
Lin Chen and the others waited in the research station, and after half a day, while Lin Chen was casually chatting with Ning Xiuzhu, he suddenly stopped mid-sentence and stood up abruptly with a splash.
