Ti passed second by second, and the atmosphere in the bar had reached a tipping point.
The originally soothing music had stopped, and all the waitstaff and patrons were watching Wang Hui and Yunting, both fearful and expectant, eager to know the outco of this situation.
The dozen or so youths holding knives had shifted their focus, forming a circle around Yunting, their blades flashing coldly, chilling the heart.
"Lu Yu, is he going to be okay? Do you need my help?"
Seeing Yunting surrounded by the knife-wielding youths, Luo Lie spoke up, his words full of depth.
"No need."
Hearing this, Lu Yu, like an audience mber watching a play, swirled his drink and spoke with a chilly nonchalance: "You're underestimating Yunting. He's Lin'an's biggest underground force leader, a position carved out with each knife, not as weak as you think."
"So,"
Lu Yu picked up an empty glass, took the Blue Label beside him, poured a drink, added ice, and said to Luo Lie, "Just sit back and watch. Don't get involved."
Then, Lu Yu snapped his fingers, gestured to the frozen server, and said, "Take this drink to that gentleman."
He pointed at Yunting.
This was all Yunting standing up for Wen Ya after Lu Yu's persuasion, so the drink was understandable.
"This..."
Hearing Lu Yu's words, the server was in a tough spot, clearly frightened.
After all, Yunting was flanked by more than a dozen knife-wielding youths, and the scene was terrifying for the server.
"Don't be afraid,"
Seeing the server's expression, Wen Ya said, "With them around, no one's going to trouble you. You're just delivering a drink—it's no big deal. I'll add a third to your month's wage."
"Alright, I guess,"
The server said after hearing Wen Ya, then picked up Lu Yu's drink and headed toward Yunting.
"S-sir,"
As he approached Yunting, the server stamred, "T-the gentleman over there asked to bring you this drink..."
Pointing to Lu Yu, the server added.
"Got it,"
After hearing the server, Yunting took the drink from him and nodded at Lu Yu in thanks.
"Damn, another poser!"
Seeing Lu Yu's actions, Wang Hui cursed under his breath, gripping his knife and heading towards Lu Yu.
To him, Lu Yu's drink gesture was pure disdain.
"Idiot, here's so advice for you,"
Seeing Wang Hui's move, Yunting sipped his drink lightly and said, "That guy over there is soone you can never afford to offend. If you don't want to die, just stand here and wait for my people, or you'll only face a body bag."
Yunting's words were detached, like a frigid breeze.
"Bullshit! I could take that kid down with one knife..."
Wang Hui scoffed at Yunting's words, brandishing his knife at Lu Yu, but stopped mid-sentence.
Because Lu Yu was staring directly at him, his gaze half-smirking but filled with cold intent.
The murderous intent was like a lion eyeing a feeble mouse, reeking of contempt.
Seeing this gaze, Wang Hui was struck with a chill, and his legs trembled, his grip on the knife faltering.
Just from that gaze, Wang Hui nearly buckled to his knees!
Now, a dreadful premonition surged in Wang Hui's mind!
"What's wrong? Scared?"
Seeing Wang Hui's fearful expression, Yunting sipped his drink again, remarking, "Why do I see fear all over you?"
"Bullshit!"
Wang Hui snapped, and he held his knife to Yunting's neck, demanding, "You've got two minutes left. Where are your people?"
Wang Hui's voice was all bluster, a façade of rage.
"Two more minutes, why so rushed? Itching to die?"
As the head of the Celestial Wolf Association, Yunting had weathered many storms. Despite not being a match for a hardcore like Lu Yu, he easily handled guys like Wang Hui.
Even with a knife at his neck, he drank slowly.
Seeing Yunting's calm deanor, Wang Hui's anxiety grew, starting to believe Yunting's words, filling him with unease.
Ti ticked down slowly toward ten minutes.
Those brief two minutes felt like an eternity for Wang Hui, full of internal conflict since he couldn't fathom who Yunting really was.
As tension mounted, ten minutes elapsed.
"Damn it!"
Seeing the ti pass without anyone showing up, Wang Hui exhaled, asking Yunting, "Where are your people?"
His voice was angry, mixed with relief.
Lucky, this guy was bluffing after all.
"Looks like I'll have to help,"
Seeing Wang Hui like that, Luo Lie started to reach for his gun.
"Don't rush,"
Lu Yu pressed down on Luo Lie's hand, speaking softly, "Patience, there's more to this."
He smiled at Wen Ya, asking, "Right, Sister Demon?"
"Right,"
Hearing Lu Yu, Wen Ya naturally looped her arm into his, saying to Luo Lie, "Mr. Luo, the real show's just starting."
Luo Lie smiled, covered his gun, and said, "In that case, I'll enjoy the show."
He took a sip from his drink, watching Yunting intently.
"My people?"
To Wang Hui's demand, Yunting remained unfazed, downing his drink and pointing outside the bar, "There they are."
