Chapter 574: 583. Battle of Black Dragon Castle

As the beggar gave a command, hundreds of beggars shouted and charged toward Black Dragon Castle.

However, even though the noise of battle was deafening outside the castle, there was no sound from within Black Dragon Castle.

The beggar’s face was originally filled with smugness, but seeing the beggars reach the castle with no response from within, he frowned and pondered.

Monts later, the beggar’s face suddenly changed, shouting, “Not good, there must be an ambush.”

Before his voice fell, the beggars had already rushed to the front of Black Dragon Castle, about to slam open the castle gates.

At this mont, suddenly, the black brick walls of Black Dragon Castle moved, and hundreds of bricks retracted, revealing gaps.

Then, from these gaps, crossbows with a chilling gleam erged, and with a twang of strings, countless arrows were fired.

These crossbow arrows were not ordinary; they were imbued with the Power of Demon Patterns.

In an instant, hundreds of crossbow arrows rained down like a storm.

These beggars were no ordinary people; they were all Demon Cultivators. Upon seeing the arrows, they imdiately swung their bamboo staffs to deflect them.

You could hear the clattering as arrows were knocked away.

But as the barrage continued, so beggars couldn’t withstand it, and you could hear the sounds of “thwack” and cries as bodies hit the ground.

In the blink of an eye, dozens of beggars were hit by arrows and fell to the ground.

At this mont, the beggars wanted to advance but were blocked by the gate; retreating would only make them more of a target for the arrows.

They were trapped outside the wall, unable to move forward or back, caught in a state of panic.

Just then, a shadow flew swiftly toward the gate of Black Dragon Castle.

This shadow moved so fast that it leaped over the heads of hundreds of beggars, landing before the castle gate.

The mont this shadow appeared, hundreds of crossbow arrows on the walls turned and aid at it.

Hundreds of arrows shot forth, blocking the shadow’s path, threatening to turn it into a pincushion.

However, facing the arrows, the shadow rely snorted coldly and waved a hand, sending a gust of wind to intercept them.

Though the arrows were swift and strong, the gust blew them off course, causing them to drop aimlessly to the ground.

The shadow then landed like a great bird before the gate.

Only then did everyone realize that the shadow was the beggar.

Standing before Black Dragon Castle’s gate, the beggar raised a hand and struck the gate with a palm.

The castle gate, towering as high as three people and several inches thick, shattered like paper under the beggar’s strike, flying far into the castle.

Seeing the beggar’s display of might, the beggars cheered loudly.

Standing at the gate, the beggar coolly clasped his hands behind his back and calmly said, “Kill, leave none alive.”

“Kill!”

“Kill!”

The beggars shouted and charged into Black Dragon Castle.

Hundreds of beggars surged into the castle, but as the vanguard set foot inside, they heard a thunderous crash as the ground gave way, sending over a hundred beggars plumting below.

A cloud of dust rose, revealing a large pit before them.

“Ah, snakes—”

“Help!!”

Cries of terror rose from the pit.

Through the dust, countless venomous snakes filled the pit, turning it into a sea of serpents.

The beggars, rather than falling into a pit, had landed in a sea of snakes.

There were so many snakes that the beggars couldn’t stand straight without being engulfed up to their waists.

In an instant, over a hundred beggars were bitten by snakes.

Trying to fend off the snakes was futile with so many; they couldn’t tell which had bitten them.

Amidst their daze, more snakes bit them, each beggar getting bitten hundreds of tis.

Eventually, every beggar was covered in snakes, with no space left untouched.

Cries echoed as the beggars struggled, gradually succumbing and disappearing into the snake pit.

Seeing this, the beggars who hadn’t fallen into the pit shivered in fear, especially at the grisly sight before them, their faces filled with terror.

Seeing them waver, the beggar snorted coldly and commanded, “Every beggar has a bamboo staff, have you forgotten its use?”

Hearing his words, the beggars suddenly rembered.

The bamboo staff is used to beat dogs and repel snakes.

It was a skill every beggar excelled at.

Despite the terror just witnessed, they had forgotten their staffs in hand. The beggar’s reminder brought clarity, and they raised their staffs toward the pit.

In the pit, about ten beggars were still alive, struggling desperately, their cries pleading for rcy as others raised staffs at them.

With cold expressions, the surrounding beggars raised their staffs, emitting a green glow that enveloped the pit.

With a roaring sound, the snakes were torn apart, blood sprayed, and a stench filled the air.

After several minutes of fierce attacks, the beggars stopped, the pit shrouded in a mist of blood, making it impossible to discern the scene.

After a while, the blood mist settled, revealing a pit filled with blood, floating snake fragnts, and beggar remnants.

The fierce attack had killed all the snakes and beggars in the pit.

The beggar did not spare the pit a glance but pointed forward and said, “Kill onward, the Black Dragon is inside.”

Following his command, the remaining hundreds of beggars leaped over the pit, charging deeper into Black Dragon Castle.
