As the ti neared seven o’clock, at the entrance of the Century Hotel.
"Quick, hurry up, everyone stand alert. Many high-level executives from various groups are coming to our hotel tonight. If anyone dares to drop the ball, I won’t hesitate to send them packing."
The lobby manager stood at the entrance, instructing the doorn and security guards to stand properly. No sooner had he finished speaking, a black rcedes-Benz slowly approached the entrance. The lobby manager glanced at the license plate and quickly went over to open the car door.
"Mr. Mu."
"Hmm!"
A middle-aged man in a suit stepped out of the rcedes-Benz, grunting a response, "Who has arrived?"
"Mr. Mu, you’re relatively early. Only a few vice-presidents have arrived so far, but a lot of dia friends are here this ti," whispered the lobby manager.
"Hmm!"
After speaking, the middle-aged man strode into the hotel, and the lobby manager accompanied him to the entrance. "Aren’t you going to lead Mr. Mu to the banquet hall?"
"Mr. Mu, please."
A professionally dressed, attractive receptionist quickly stepped forward to guide him.
One car passed, and the lobby manager had just returned to his spot when the next car stopped in front of the hotel.
"Director Zhang."
"It’s quite a grand occasion. It seems today’s banquet is of a high caliber. Alright, no need to accompany , I’ll go in on my own."
With that, Director Zhang stepped towards the hotel.
The lobby manager quickly found himself in round after round of reception. It was as if all these corporate executives had coordinated their timing, arriving just on ti and let him barely cope. Luckily, no one started a fight at the hotel entrance, or he really would have despaired.
"Shh, this banquet is really sothing."
The dia journalists who had arrived earlier also gathered together. After all, they were colleagues and many had even graduated from the sa school.
"Look, the CEO’s Lady personally sent a letter at this ti. Don’t you think that’s very significant?" one remarked.
"Yes, the old Chairman of Century Group has been unconscious and has not made any public appearances lately. Even though the hospital has been tight-lipped, from the current clues, it’s obvious that the struggle for the heir of Century Group has reached a fever pitch."
"It’s clear that the old Chairman of Century Group is no longer in control of the situation. Today’s banquet is personally overseen by the Chairman’s Lady herself, while Chen Family’s old Chairman’s son, Chen Muyang, is rumored to have gone to T country for treatnt."
"This is obviously an opportunity with the Crown Prince out of the picture; the Empress Dowager is planning to take control. We could be in for another intense showdown."
A well-known dia reporter pushed his glasses up and analyzed confidently.
"Actually, this matter wasn’t so complicated. Chen Muyang was the rightful heir of Century Group; his ascension was completely justified. What a pity, he was brought down in a scandal."
"He’s incapable of continuing the family line. If he were to inherit the Century Group, there would definitely be trouble. Those Chen Family mbers have been quite active recently, and now even the old chairman’s wife has jumped into the fray—it’s really a case of demons running amok."
"Ha, if they don’t start fighting, where would we journalists find news? Just watch, today’s reception will absolutely be a blockbuster century drama."
Journalists whispered among themselves, while the senior executives of the Century Group also gathered in small groups.
"What on earth does Han Xue want to do? She can’t possibly think that just because Chen Muyang has been turned into an eunuch, she’s qualified to ddle in the company affairs."
"Ha, she wishes. Chen Muyang has always drooled over his young stepmother. Now I seriously suspect it was Han Xue, the stepmother herself, who had Muyang castrated."
"Humph, whether Chen Muyang is turned into an eunuch or not, what difference does it make? He’s still the heir to the group. The law certainly won’t disqualify him from his inheritance just because he beca an eunuch."
"If only the old chairman could wake up and say sothing. After all, Century Group is a Chen enterprise; we can’t let it fall into outsiders’ hands. Moreover, in terms of capability and vision, Mu Feng is truly the one everyone looks up to."
"That’s right. Even before Chen Muyang beca an eunuch, he was notoriously violent and dissolute. Letting him inherit the Century Group would be an absolute disaster."
"What’s the use of talking so much? No one really knows the current state of the old chairman’s health. He’s been locked away in the villa by Chen Muyang, who absolutely does not allow outsiders to visit."
"Yeah, whether the chairman is alive or dead is a mystery right now."
"What is Han Xue trying to do by suddenly showing up? She’s an outsider, even if she is the chairman’s wife, she has no right to ddle in the company’s internal affairs."
"Yeah, this woman signed an agreent before she married in; she’s not entitled to a penny of the Century Group’s money."
The chatter below continued, and soon it was eight o’clock.
Li Feng, having no host’s seat, the duty was handed over to Jiang Linda. At that mont, Jiang Linda, dressed in an elegant black evening gown, walked onto the stage and picked up the microphone, "Ladies and gentlen, as well as the mbers of the press who have co here, please quiet down. The reception is about to begin."
"Today’s Century Group’s reception is hosted by Lady Han Xue. Please welco Lady Han Xue to the stage."
The scene was devoid of applause. Everyone at the Century Group knew what Han Xue was about—a secretary who climbed up the ranks by using her charm and seduction. Many in the audience were well aware of this and naturally held contempt for Han Xue.
A vase and a green-tea bitch, even if she is the chairman’s wife, what does it amount to?
Han Xue walked up to the stage, took the microphone, and looked toward the high-level managent of Century Group gathered below. There were quite a few of them, at least a couple of hundred. After all, Century Group, aside from its headquarters, also had many subsidiary holding and grandchild companies. Each company even sending two or three top heads would lead to the number of people present.
"Welco everyone to tonight’s Century reception. There are three announcents to be made at this session, which will determine the future of Century Group. For this, I’ve specially invited our friends in the dia to bear witness to today’s events."
"Han Xue, what right do you have to decide the future of the group here? You may be the chairman’s wife, but don’t forget—you signed an agreent, and the Century Group’s affairs have nothing to do with you."
"Exactly, how can you, an outsider, decide the future of our Chen Family? What do you think you are?"
"She’s a high-class green-tea bitch after all, how else could she have beco the chairman’s wife of our group? Her skills are quite sothing."
Below, people began to scoff and mock, clearly not taking Han Xue, the chairman’s wife, seriously.
Click, click.
Journalists on the scene heard this and got excited at once, feeling that the trip had been worthwhile. With such an explosive start, the rest was bound to be thrilling.
