Li Feng nodded, "I heard you."
"What do you want to do with , then?"
He Lu lifted her head to look at Li Feng, whose eyes narrowed as he glanced at her, "You can go and pretend nothing happened tonight."
"You’re letting go?"
He Lu looked at Li Feng in disbelief. He hmd, "What else? I can’t just treat you like they planned to treat you. I am not a beast."
He Lu’s face reddened. She wrapped herself in a towel, stepped down, entered the bathroom, and got dressed. A mont later, He Lu walked out of the bathroom.
"How did you find out?"
He Lu looked at Li Feng, feeling that her acting had been flawless without any slip-ups.
Li Feng turned back to her, "When you told Ma Lin was conspiring with you to set a trap for , even though you shared Ma Lin’s plan with and suggested that I play along to slap Ma Lin in the face,"
"sothing felt off right then."
"What felt off?"
"Heh, I’m not so handso that a woman would fall for at first sight, ready to pledge her undying loyalty to , let alone offend a capable son."
"Furthermore, you must have seen the news online. If I truly were so big shot’s son, perhaps your fling would make sense."
"In the public eye, I’m just a man who mooches off won, shalessly beca a live-in son-in-law, what about that kind of man is worth your liking?"
"The dinner ended, and if it had stopped there, I might have just suspected I was being overly nervous. After all, what if you were really smitten with my looks and truly wanted to throw yourself at ?"
"But clearly, I thought too much. The reactions of your colleagues were the normal reactions; yet, you dived into the car, offering yourself up."
"Ah, to tell you the truth, you almost had moved. As for what happened after we got into the room, your reaction only confird it."
"You don’t really like ; you just wanted to achieve so goal. If you really liked , how could you push away, saying you were going out to buy alcohol? Don’t you know that’s a mood killer?"
Li Feng looked at He Lu, "And the wine you handed to , I tasted sothing was off from the very first sip, so I had to play along to see what exactly what you were up to."
"I never would have imagined that these two could play their parts so well. What a scene."
He Lu looked up at Li Feng, "I am sorry, I didn’t want to do this, but I had no choice. My family has no background, no connections; finding a good job is really hard."
"No need to explain, just go."
Li Feng waved his hand; he had no intention to dwell on things with He Lu. Despite her deception, she was ultimately a pitiful person.
If it hadn’t been for him tonight, He Lu would have been violated by those two, then exploited further. As for all the promises they made to He Lu, heh, after the news gets out, would she have the face to continue at Century Group?
He Lu looked at Li Feng but ultimately didn’t say anything more, knowing that being able to leave unhard was the best outco.
After He Lu left, Li Feng looked at the two unconscious n on the bed, "Dongfang Ding, Ma Lin, you two tead up and even set a trap for , trying to catch in an affair."
A sly smile tugged at Li Feng’s lips.
He was certainly not soone who would let a grudge go unavenged.
Over half an hour later, Li Feng hacked into the hotel’s surveillance system and retrieved a segnt of video. After cutting out a part, Li Feng picked up his phone and called Jiang Linda.
"It’s , Li Feng, I need to talk to you."
"What is it?"
Jiang Linda was soaking in the bathtub, "Hmm? Why do you ask?"
"Just tell if you know them or not."
"Gossip mongers, I know a few who are quite famous in the business. But what exactly are you trying to do?"
Jiang Linda was thoroughly confused. Li Feng actually asked her for the contact information of a gossip paparazzi. What was he planning to do?
"Send the contact information."
After saying this, Li Feng hung up the phone. Jiang Linda pouted, what the heck.
If it weren’t for the fact that you pay my salary, I wouldn’t bother with you at all. Muttering to herself, Jiang Linda sent a contact to Li Feng.
She had no clue what he was up to.
As soon as Li Feng got the number, he dialed the gossip paparazzi’s phone.
"Hello, who are you looking for?"
"Is this Paparazzi Ming? I have a scoop for you."
"Oh? What kind of scoop?"
"Room 708 at the Rui Shi Hotel. The key card is in the flowerpot by the elevator entrance. You’d better hurry; I’m not the only one who’s been given this tip." Li Feng then hung up, glanced at the bed, snorted coldly, and walked out of the room.
Li Feng wiped out any traces of himself and He Lu, then stepped out of the Rui Shi and lit up a cigarette by the roadside.
Less than an hour later, he saw an inconspicuous SUV stop outside the hotel, and a sleazy guy stepped out without needing to look at his face to know.
Paparazzi Ming wasn’t inside for long before two more people hurried over. Seeing the SLR cara they carried, Li Feng knew they were another group.
He tossed his cigarette on the ground and stubbed it out, hailed a cab with a wave of his hand, and, keeping his contribution hidden, left the hotel.
"Paparazzi Ming."
"Eight Diagrams."
"You’re here for Room 708."
"So are you."
"Hey, the person who called was so secretive. Could there be so celebrity having a tryst here?"
"Who knows? We’ll only find out after taking the photos."
The elevator dinged and opened, and the two of them dashed to the flowerpot. Paparazzi Ming grabbed the key card first, with Eight Diagrams close behind.
Under normal circumstances, if they were working together, they would have been more cautious due to the risks. But not in this situation: two rival teams were involved. If you didn’t want the exclusive, the other surely wouldn’t let it go.
Competition in this field is way fiercer than in others.
The first-hand scoop is always the most important.
The door to the room opened, the light ca on, and Paparazzi Ming and Eight Diagrams rushed in, firing away with their SLR caras at the two naked n on the bed.
"What a sight for sore eyes."
"They don’t look like any celebrities."
Such a steamy scene definitely qualified as a major scoop, although it depended on the person. If these were celebrity bigwigs, it would be explosive news, but if they were ordinary people, naturally, no one would care.
"He looks like Dongfang Ding."
"Huh?"
"Dongfang Ding, the scion of Eastern Investnt." Paparazzi Ming’s eyes lit up. Although not a celebrity, so rich second-generation kids were regulars in the tabloid news, like the one in front of him—especially since the head of Eastern was the second-largest shareholder of Century Group.
Right now, Century Group was dominating the trending searches. Any news linked to Century Group was guaranteed to catch the public eye.
Thinking this, Paparazzi Ming snapped away frantically, even taking a close-up of the trash can.
This was a jackpot—if exclusive, it would be fantastic.
