It wasn’t just Zhou Yutong who had co; all the classmates who had dined together that day were there too.
Wang Jin’er looked coldly at Zhou Yutong. After the incident last ti, Wang Jin’er had blocked her contact information. She hadn’t thought much of it when they were in school, but at dinner last ti, she sensed Zhou Yutong’s hostility toward her.
Wang Jin’er found it sowhat baffling. She had always thought their relationship was fine, or else they wouldn’t have gone to dinner the last ti they t.
"Li Feng, let’s go sowhere else."
Wang Jin’er didn’t even bother to speak to her directly, just pulled Li Feng and walked out.
How could Zhou Yutong let Wang Jin’er just walk away like that? Zhou Yutong was there specifically for Wang Jin’er and reached out to grab Wang Jin’er’s arm.
"Jin’er, don’t go yet. I’m here to apologize, to both you and your boyfriend."
Wang Jin’er gave a cold snort.
"An apology isn’t necessary, Zhou Yutong. I think it would be better if we didn’t see each other again."
Seeing this, Zhou Yutong bit her lip and promptly fell to her knees before Wang Jin’er.
"Jin’er, I really realize my mistake. For the sake of our four years as classmates, please spare ."
While saying this, tears stread down from Zhou Yutong’s eyes, "Jin’er, my fiancé wants to break up with , I’ve lost everything. If you don’t forgive , I really won’t have anywhere to turn."
Zhou Yutong said pitifully.
Hearing Zhou Yutong’s words, although several girls standing behind were not pleased with Zhou Yutong’s previous behavior, seeing her so miserable, they felt so sympathy.
"Jin’er, Yutong really knows she was wrong. After all, we’ve been under one roof for several years; just forgive her."
"Yeah, Jin’er, you don’t know, after you left that day, her fiancé hit her and said the wedding was off, breaking up with her on the spot."
"Jin’er, Yutong does have a bit of vanity and was jealous of you because the guy she had a crush on liked you. That’s why she competed with you, but now that she’s fallen on hard tis, she’s learned her lesson. Please, forgive her this once for old tis’ sake."
Several girls chid in to support her.
Wang Jin’er gave them a glance, her heart softening.
"Okay, I forgive you. But from now on, we are no longer friends. Get up."
Wang Jin’er didn’t want to dwell on it anymore, deciding to put the past behind her.
A al was all it took to see soone’s true nature.
Li Feng, standing behind Wang Jin’er, knew this wasn’t the end. Just as he had expected, Zhou Yutong still hadn’t let go of Wang Jin’er’s hand.
"Jin’er, can I please ask you for one more favor?"
Zhou Yutong was pushing her luck.
Wang Jin’er’s expression turned colder, "Zhou Yutong, what exactly do you want?"
Zhou Yutong bit her lip, "Jin’er, could you accompany and your boyfriend to a place?"
Wang Jin’er looked at Zhou Yutong.
"Zhou Yutong, let go. I already said we are no longer friends."
"Jin’er, I’m begging you."
Zhou Yutong clung desperately to Wang Jin’er’s arm, not letting go. This was her only chance; if she couldn’t get the two of them to co along, her fiancé would definitely dump her.
She was already halfway into a wealthy family. How could she just give up?
Li Feng stepped forward, took hold of Zhou Yutong’s wrist, and flung it away, then looked at Wang Jin’er’s arm, "Are you alright?"
"I’m fine."
Li Feng raised his eyes to Zhou Yutong.
"You ca to ask Jin’er for forgiveness, but it wasn’t sincere, was it? You were actually aiming for with your request. I’m not wrong, am I?"
Li Feng looked at Zhou Yutong with a scornful laugh. He had gone to International Trade that day to attend a banquet, invited by none other than Zhang Chang, one of the "Four Young Masters" of Jin City.
Zhou Yutong’s fiancé was probably one of the n under Zhang Chang’s wing, only he didn’t know Li Feng.
Wang Jin’er glanced sideways at Li Feng and blinked.
Zhou Yutong felt a sting in her heart, "I am sincerely apologizing. Of course, I didn’t know you were a guest invited by Mr. Zhang...!"
The more Zhou Yutong spoke, the less confident she beca. After all, her intentions weren’t pure. Why would she care about Wang Jin’er if she didn’t need her to speak on her behalf? Zhou Yutong would never kneel to her otherwise.
The girls standing behind Zhou Yutong also had expressions suggesting they’ve had a bad day, realizing they had been used by Zhou Yutong once more, despite their earlier sympathy for her.
"Enough talk, where to?"
Li Feng suddenly spoke up.
Zhou Yutong looked up at Li Feng in surprise, "Ah, you agree?"
"State the place."
"Tengyun Manor on the outskirts of Jin City."
Li Feng put his arm around a sowhat puzzled Wang Jin’er, while Zhou Yutong eagerly led the way, even pulling open the car door.
"Get out!"
Li Feng looked at Zhou Yutong who had opened the passenger door and was about to get in. Zhou Yutong paused, then turned to Li Feng.
"I will go to Tengyun Manor, but don’t think I’m doing this to give you face. Your face isn’t worth a di."
"Right now, you’re not even a friend of my girlfriend. What right do you have to ride in the sa car as us?"
Li Feng didn’t mince words with Zhou Yutong, causing her face to cycle through several expressions.
"If you really must get in the car, then we’ll get out."
Zhou Yutong bit her lip, got out of the car, and slamd the door, her face burning with embarrassnt.
Wang Jin’er glanced at Zhou Yutong outside the car and then turned to Li Feng, "She’s probably going to hate you now!"
"I just can’t stand that kind of phony act of hers."
Wang Jin’er humd in agreent, "I never realized she was like that, but... are you hiding sothing from ? Why would Zhou Yutong beg you?"
She couldn’t understand why Zhou Yutong would have to beg Li Feng.
Li Feng didn’t hide anything from Wang Jin’er and laid out his entire plan.
"Ah, you’re selling Century Group?"
Wang Jin’er’s eyes widened in surprise. Li Feng was amused by her astonishnt and said, "Surprised?"
"Isn’t this surprising? You’ve just beco the chairman of Century Group, and now you want to sell it?"
Wang Jin’er was puzzled; it was one of Sea City’s top ten groups, valued at a peak market cap of over a trillion. Maybe not now, but it still had a value of hundreds of billions.
Li Feng put his arm around Wang Jin’er’s waist, earning him an eye roll, and he said, "Aren’t you studying business managent? You’ve even taken advanced courses at the business school. Why not analyze it for ?"
Wang Jin’er blinked and thought he was testing her, "Hmph, this miss was once your esteed President."
"Century Group is a traditional family-owned conglorate. Although it has undergone so reform, the reforms aren’t thorough. The Chen Family’s influence is deeply entrenched within the group, and after achieving certain results, the reformist faction has also lost its edge due to Chairman Chen Qinian’s influence."
"There are many factions within Century Group now: the family faction, the conservative reformists, and external investors. Although you have beco the chairman of Century, facing the various factions within the group, it’s difficult to accomplish anything."
"Additionally, Century Group’s industries are facing transformation. The old heavy industries are losing money year after year and have beco a burden..."
Li Feng watched Wang Jin’er speaking with authority, smiling as he looked at her.
"Why are you looking at like that? Did I say sothing wrong?"
"You’re correct, but there’s one more important thing."
"What’s that?"
"I’m rather lazy."
Wang Jin’er rolled her eyes and as they talked, the car left the city area and got on the ring road. Soon, they took a side road with mountains becoming more prominent around them.
"We have arrived, both of you."
