An abandoned dirt path connected the only village on the island, a village long forsaken, now dilapidated and in disrepair. So houses couldn’t withstand the weather, having collapsed, and the courtyards were overgrown with weeds.
Li Feng entered the deserted village from its entrance, looking around vigilantly. The signs of human activity were scarce, but there were so fresh footprints leading into the village from the entrance—likely the earlier contestants.
Li Feng heightened his alertness.
The hos on this island were scattered from the foothills to the mid-slope at the center of the island. Li Feng approached the nearest house to the village entry, a farmhouse overrun with wild grass, half of its old house had collapsed.
The courtyard’s gate was already rotten but still stubbornly standing. Li Feng glanced at the overgrown courtyard without finding a trace of human intervention.
Where would the competition’s organizing committee have placed the token?
Surely they wouldn’t have been irresponsible enough to simply scatter the tokens everywhere. The island wasn’t large, but it still covered more than a dozen square kiloters, and the vegetation was dense—if the tokens were just tossed aside, finding them would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.
The organizing committee’s original intent for this preliminary competition was to weed out the weak and retain the strong; naturally, they wouldn’t make contestants dig three feet into the ground in search of so token—that would defeat the purpose of the preliminaries.
Just as Li Feng pondered this, a buzzing sound, like that of bees, suddenly filled the sky.
Li Feng imdiately looked up into the sky, only to see countless small black dots appearing and swiftly flying toward the island.
Drones!
Li Feng’s eyes narrowed.
"Report, the drones have flown over the island."
The drones, equipped with high-definition caras, completely enveloped the island, and their feeds were transmitted to the command center on a nearby island.
A mber of the organizing committee watched every movent on the island and suddenly curled his lips into a smile, "They’re all too harmonious, which is not very good."
"Divide half to go to the muddy beaches of the landing area, and drop the rest."
"Yes!"
The drones imdiately split into two groups, one part flying towards the direction of the muddy beaches, while the others continued forward. Monts later, the drones released tokens, each one attached to a small parachute.
This scene was quickly spotted by the contestants on the island.
"The organizing committee’s people are very cunning."
No one present had anticipated that the Earth Elent Token, symbolizing representation, would be dropped by airdrop.
Had the tokens been hidden, they could have coexisted peacefully, each relying on luck to find their own without intense conflict—after all, it wasn’t the final showdown, and no one wanted to go all out from the start.
This preliminary round was obviously not sothing that would end in just a mont or two.
But now there was no choice, the tokens had been dropped from the sky. It was clear to any onlooker that there weren’t many Earth Elent Tokens.
For the mont, Li Feng ignored the beach area and set his sights on one parachuting token falling toward him; his eyes narrowed as the landing spot of the token would not be too far from him.
Li Feng quickly tracked the parachutes falling through the sky and analyzed their potential dropping points in his mind— he had no intention of just grabbing one token and beating a hasty retreat.
The preliminaries were a group elimination battle after all, testing not only strength and intellect but also a asure of luck. Poor fortune, and they might well fail to pass the earlier stages.
Li Feng stood still for a dozen seconds, morizing the approximate coordinates of seven or eight parachutes, then he took off towards the nearest one.
Two or three minutes later, Li Feng retrieved the final token from a patch of wild grass. Adding it to those taken on the cruise, he had gathered the Five Elents Tokens. All he needed to do now was to wait for the cruise ship to return and get on board to pass the preliminaries.
Li Feng didn’t just find a place to hide and wait it out. He turned and headed towards another token’s approximate landing location.
Monts later, Li Feng had yet another token in his hands.
It seed his luck wasn’t bad today.
When Li Feng headed toward the third token, he ran into soone.
This was a small school in the abandoned settlent. The playground wasn’t very big, but there was a large banyan tree with a parachute caught in its treetop.
Under the banyan tree, Li Feng once again ca across the beauty he had t on the cruise ship. She had followed him before, but had entered the village first. Unfortunately, her luck was quite poor.
On the cruise ship, she had been attacked by others, and now she was being targeted by three n.
"Why did you only just arrive?"
Huang Shuyao also noticed Li Feng and quickly took the opportunity to retreat toward him while staying alert to the three n in front of her. Li Feng’s appearance also made the three hesitant, as they were not allies either.
Huang Shuyao stopped not far from Li Feng, knowing one must be wary of others.
"Let’s team up temporarily. The three n in front of us aren’t together, and with our cooperation, we should be able to take them down. As for the Earth Elent Token here, I can give it to you first."
Huang Shuyao extended the offer to team up, aware that Li Feng had already collected the other four tokens and was only missing this last Earth Elent Token.
So Li Feng had no reason to covet the token she carried. Her offering of the Earth Elent Token was a bargaining chip. Although she hadn’t captured this token, she had morized the approximate locations of three or four other tokens. As most people had not yet reached the village, a quick battle would give her so ti advantage.
Otherwise, many contestants would start heading into the island from the beach, and the difficulty in seizing tokens would increase significantly.
"Sure!"
Li Feng glanced at Huang Shuyao. The girl had made a clever move, but it didn’t matter to him. Even without Huang Shuyao, he would intervene if the three n tried to steal the token from him.
The three n shared glances with one another.
"First, we take down these two. As for the tokens, we’ll decide based on strength."
Seeing Li Feng siding with Huang Shuyao, the three n quickly ca to an understanding among themselves. They had been among the first to jump into the sea from their room balconies and reach the shore.
At that mont, they were in possession only of their respective tokens, and naturally, they needed to take others’ tokens.
"Agreed!"
"I’ll take the left, you take the right. You distract them while I quickly take them down and co to your aid."
Huang Shuyao, facing the three charging n arranged in a line, said to Li Feng and darted toward the one on the left.
On the other side, one of the n ca up to Li Feng and sneered, "Do you know who I am? I am Zhou Wushuang of the Zhou Family’s southern fist style. Hand over the tokens if you don’t want to get beaten."
"You want a token?"
"Which one do you want?"
Li Feng took out a token and looked at his opponent with a smile.
