Zhang Ci’en stared at Li Feng for a good while.
"You have quite the patience."
"Aren’t you curious why I’m not leaving and just keep staring at you?"
Li Feng continued eating his food without any disturbance: "You’re a lackey of the Xu Family of Jingn. Even if you sat in front of without saying anything, I know what you’re thinking!"
Zhang Ci’en clapped twice.
"Indeed, you’re worthy of being the Hidden Dragon. Such intellect is truly admirable."
"I’m from the Xu Family, and I know your identity. Although you’re not part of this mission, if you happen to cross our path, we wouldn’t mind eliminating you either."
Zhang Ci’en squinted his eyes, smirking coldly at Li Feng.
Zhang Ci’en was an orphan adopted by the Xu Family in Jingn, raised by them since childhood. Many orphans like him grew up to serve different roles, all loyal to the Xu Family.
Li Feng had previously humiliated a young master of the Xu Family, and the Xu Family had issued a kill order against him, but he had dodged two assassination attempts.
These incidents didn’t have much to do with this group; their mission was to break into the top ten in this year’s National Martial Arts Tournant.
However, seeing Li Feng also appear at the National Martial Arts Tournant was surprising. In their surprise, these Xu Family people reached a consensus.
The mission is priority, but if there’s a chance, eliminate Li Feng.
Li Feng picked up a napkin to wipe his mouth and looked at Zhang Ci’en: "Rest assured, if I encounter soone from the Xu Family, I won’t hold back either."
Zhang Ci’en let out a cold laugh.
"Li Feng, you’re probably just putting on a brave front like a dying duck now. Jiang Tao and the others might be in doubt, but so things can’t be hidden from us."
"Hua Jiu Feng sent you a xiao huan dan to treat your injuries. You must have taken it."
"Xiao huan dan is a good redy for internal injuries, but it only suppresses them, making you appear normal."
"But in reality, your internal injuries are severe, aren’t they? You’re trying to fight two matches consecutively today to show others that your injuries aren’t serious and that you’ve recovered about seventy to eighty percent."
"You want to deter so people, after all, the ranking battles will get more intense, and your plan is smart."
"Unfortunately."
Zhang Ci’en curled his lips: "The rules of the martial arts competition will change tomorrow, and it’s the outco you least want to see."
"Li Feng, I wonder how many xiao huan dan you have left."
"Although the martial arts ring is said to stop at a point, who can predict what happens in a fight."
"Tomorrow."
"If you flee, you might save your life. But if you insist on contesting for this eighth spot..."
"Be careful; your life might be at risk."
After speaking, Zhang Ci’en stood up and left abruptly.
Li Feng watched Zhang Ci’en’s departing figure and smirked coldly to himself.
"Li Feng, do you still like n?"
Xiao Xi walked over with a tray, looking at Li Feng suspiciously. Li Feng glanced at Xiao Xi and stood up directly.
Xiao Xi also stood and followed: "Hey, Li Feng, do you have to be so cold and unfeeling? Is this how you treat soone who cares about you?"
"Li Feng, tell quietly if your injuries are severe. I promise not to tell anyone else."
"Don’t look at like that; I’m now the first in our group A and have no interest in crushing you. If you tell , I might be able to help you, like with those guys earlier."
"Not needed!"
Li Feng coldly replied.
Xiao Xi saw Li Feng’s refusal, humd, and quickly blocked him, standing right in front of Li Feng.
"Hey, can’t you see that a dog biting Lv Dongbin doesn’t appreciate a good heart? I want to help you."
"Oh, really!"
Li Feng questioned.
"Of course."
Xiao Xi raised her head, thinking surely her eyes seed sincere. She indeed planned to help Li Feng, not because she liked him or anything like that.
Instead, he gave her so unexpected surprises. He could actually hold his own against Hua Wushuang, so naturally Xiao Xi wanted to get so useful information from him.
Though she was strong, she knew there was a gap between her and Hua Wushuang, especially since the Grandmaster Realm was sothing one could sense but not articulate.
Before heading down the mountain, her master had told her she might encounter an opportunity.
Perhaps, this guy had the chance she was looking for.
Li Feng let out a cold laugh and suddenly stepped forward, startling Xiao Xi, who instinctively stepped back half a step.
As a result, Li Feng "gained an inch," directly pinning her against the wall in the corridor.
Was she just pinned?
Xiao Xi’s eyelashes fluttered, and her heartbeat accelerated a bit.
"Stop pestering ."
"Or I won’t hesitate to show you how fierce I can be."
Li Feng said to Xiao Xi with a double entendre, then turned and left. Xiao Xi held her chest, quickly regaining her senses.
"Ah, ptooey."
Xiao Xi looked at Li Feng’s back: "Go die, you."
The fourth day of the National Martial Arts Tournant.
Li Feng arrived early at the Group A arena. By now, the seating was sparse, with at least more than half missing. So players had been directly eliminated, while others with too few points had chosen to withdraw.
But the competition for the top eight rankings remained fierce, even more so than the previous three days.
"Good morning, everyone. It’s competition ti again. After three days of continuous battles, the ranking phase is becoming more clear. There are still nineteen contestants in Group A vying for the top eight spots."
"Today will be extrely important and crucial, as it will determine the final eight qualifiers."
"We’ve been notified by the committee that there will be so small changes to today’s rules."
Ling Xue and Ling Shuang spoke one after another.
"The rules have changed again."
"Looks like today will be the last day."
"The rule changes are as follows."
"The battles won’t follow the previous challenge order; instead, they’ll proceed according to the ranking list."
"For instance, the last contestant can challenge soone in front, under the sa points, regarded as the sa rank."
"Hmm?"
Many furrowed their brows at this rule...
"But."
Ling Shuang added a twist: "Each person only has one challenge opportunity; if victorious, they retain their challenge qualifications. If defeated, they lose the chance and retain their previous ranking."
"The competition will continue until everyone has completed their challenges, or everyone confirms the ranking order, with the final eight eligible to enter the top 36 list of the finals."
Xiao Xi furrowed her brows.
Why did the rules suddenly change? This rule was not favorable for Li Feng since the seven or eight people behind him could each challenge him once.
He would have to challenge forward two or three matches himself to possibly secure a top-eight spot.
"Host, a question. If several of us wish to spar with soone ahead, and they’ve accepted one sparring, can another person still challenge them?"
A voice erged from the crowd.
