[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor Chapter 363 - 362 – Holy empire – Part 5

"How are the preparations going?" – asked the paladin in the city.

"Good sir. The gate is almost set up." – said the priest.

"We also have summoned the angel reinforcents beforehand as instructed."

"We are also continue summoning more angels in order to strengthen our defenses."

"Then keep at it." – said the paladin.

"The enemy security was extrely tight and there is good chance they may have already discovered a breach in their defenses."

(Dammit. The city really was completely taken over.) – thought Thanatos who was spying on the empire forces, before then running out of the city and heading straight to the forest where vampire army was waiting.

"Shit…. This is really bad." – said the general after hearing Hunter report.

"But to summon that many angels so far, even without "heaven gate" ….. It would only an that they possess extrely powerful summoners…. Or did they started continues angel summoning ages ago?"

"Either way, we are going in."

"The gate they are planning to make could be the "Heaven gate" and if they do open it, they will get a big reinforcents."

"This isn't all." – said Hunter.

"The flag that these soldiers were using. It was a flag of golden helt."

"The fallowers of the Son Of Glory?!" – asked shocked general.

(Elite army working directly under the Son Of Glory banner…. What are THEY doing here?!)

(They should be defending their main fleet, especially the Daughter Of rcy…. )

(Just what the hell is going on?! Why is one of most well know elite armies of empire doing here?!) – thought visible worried general as he tried to put pieces of puzzle together in his head, only to not find any answers that would fit properly at all.

"Prepare for combat! We need exterminate all of the empire forces before whatever they are planning is finished!"

Upon the vampire general orders, all forces that were currently hiding in the forest and were located far away from the city to all march.

"!"

"CAPTAIN! ENEY ATTACK!" – shouted empire soldier as he spotted a group an army of vampires and golems approaching the city through the main road.

"Huh…. They showed sowhat earlier that I've had expected." – said the high paladin as he used the spy glass to monitor the enemy.

(The army isn't that big…. But it is not weak either. I can spot so of these heavy war golems we had encountered before. They are problematic.)

"Focus mainly on the golems."

"I know they can take a hit and be used as their shields, but they can also break through our defenses we just repaired."

"Don't hold back."

"YES SIR!" – replied the empire soldiers.

The vampire and golem army began approaching the city.

From the outside, it looked like the city was in the completely ssed up state, as its gates were forced open and the walls itself were already crumbling.

The empire forces tried to sowhat repair the damage, but they really did not had any ti at all to restore anything.

So, the city defenses were pretty much gone…..And the empire could not use them at all…. Right?

But there was a slight problem.

The number of soldiers that were in the city was extrely large, making up for the lack of the city defenses.

Not only that, but there was also angel reinforcents that was keep getting summoned as the ti would went by.

"…"

"CHARGE!"

But even so, the vampire army did not faltered as the they charged towards the city.

Obviously the empire army did not just idly and began firing at the vampires, forcing the troops to use their own golems in order block the incoming attacks.

"Okay! They are using golems!"

"Mages! Target the golems!"

The empire soldiers began bombarding the golem army with spells, devastating the area around them…. But not stopping the golems at all.

(Damn. They are really thought.)

(But there is a limit of how much damage they can take!)

"Don't stop! Keep firing!"

"We need to take down these golems first no matter what!"

"SIR! THE NEW ENEMIES HAVE BEEN SPOTTED! THEY ARE COMING FROM THE FOREST!"

While the empire and vampire army was right about clash at close combat, a second army suddenly erged from the forest and began charging straight towards the city.

(How the hell did these guys got here?!)

(Even if it was a forest, we would still had….. Shit! The first army was distraction! We didn't paid attention to the forest!)

"THE SECOND ENEMY IS MAINLY CAVALARY! USE- "

"[Execution Scythe]."

Hunter suddenly leaped out of the shadows and struck the paladin from behind.

"!"

"BASTARD!" – shouted the paladin as he swung around his sword, trying to hit Hunter, only for her to leap away and dodge the attack.

"…"

(That was a solid hit aid for the heart.) – thought Thanatos.

(I guess a high ranking paladins are really just a monsters that won't go down, even if you hit them in vital spot.)

"ENEY IS HERE! GET RID OF HER!" – shouted the high paladin, not noticing a sli climbing over the wall, before then Maparapara appeared in her large form, alarming the empire soldiers who instantly spotted her.

"[Brute Shield]!" – Maparapara swung her shield around, knocking back empire soldiers that tried attacking her, while also confusing and causing the alard high paladin to stare at her, taking off his gaze from Hunter just for a mont.

However this mont was enough for Hunter to rush in and try and attack the paladin, but this ti he was ready as he used his shield to block Hunter attack.

"You are forgetting about , aren't you?!" – shouted Maparapara, alarming the paladin who instantly raised up his shield and used [Wall Shield] to block the upcoming attack.

"…"

"?"

Only for the said attack to never co.

Maparapara did not launched attack against the high paladin but instead other empire soldier, deceiving the high paladin.

The high paladin was then slashed in the back by Hunter once again, before she just quickly leaped away, dodging the paladin attack [Holy Vedetta].

"You god damd rat! Stop running away and face !" – shouted the high paladin.

"Why should I?" – replied Hunter.

(Besides. You had already lost the mont you decided to focus on .)

The second army joined the fight and launched the attack on the empire army.

With the might of their cavalry unit, a large number of the empire soldiers were easily taken down.

Not only that, but because of the whole chaos going on with Hunter and Maparapara bothering the leader of the empire army, the chain of the command was bit ss, resulting in the second army ambush being way more successful.

This caused the mages and archers to take a hit, which in turn allowed the golems to rush in and break the empire formation.

However, the empire soldiers weren't finished.

If anything, the sheer number of the soldiers alongside angels did not make thing easier for the vampire army.

In short, it wasn't a one sided battle even after this successful ambush.

….

The battle lasted for the hours….. But in the end? The city was reclaid.

And the empire soldiers were exterminated….. But obviously not without loses.

"…. How…. How many soldiers did we lose?" – asked the vampire general.

"…. Quiet few if I'm being honest…. Not only that, so of the golems have also been completely destroyed." – said the vampire soldiers.

"We are using so of the captured people to also boost recovery rate of our troops, but they won't be enough."

"Dammit… Is this really that bad?" – asked worried general.

"And more bad news." – said Hunter as she approached the general alongside Maparapra.

"The guy killed himself." – said the sli girl.

"You an the one in charge that was trying to escape?" – asked general."

"Yeb." – said sli girl.

"He took the horse, run away, and then committed suicide."

"Not a fake body or fake suicide…. He was a real one."

"Dammit." – said the general.

(What in the bloody living hell is going on here?!)

(How the hell did THAT large number of the empire soldiers got in here?!)

(Even if they had broken through our defenses, we would still had been inford much more earlier about that attack AND about that large invasion group.)

(But we got nothing.)

(We got delayed notice and the lack of informations regarding the size of the enemy army.)

(Not only that…. The thing they were setting up was really Heaven Gate.)

(….)

(This kingdom corpse were laying everywhere, this ans we weren't betrayed.)

(…..Or by this kingdom at least…. What if another kingdom…. No. Sothing still isn't adding up.)

(Even though we are allies, we are keeping each other in check.)

(If one of the allies would enter each other kingdom, then they would know it.)

(If one kingdom would turn traitor and be the one responsible for the incident, then they would get pretty much exposed instantly… So, what the hell is going on?!)

(This isn't good.)

(Did they found so sort weak spot in our defenses were not aware of?!)
