A volcanic eruption wouldn’t harm the Immortals, but the Spirit Pool was built upon the island’s very foundation, constructed through a combination of arrays and spatial architecture.
If the volcano were to erupt, the imnse energy released would inevitably destabilize the surrounding space. With the island itself shattering, the Spirit Pool would be caught in the fallout and most likely collapse.
So, all the Immortals stopped at once, not daring to continue their attack on Huangfu Zhong.
"Have you all gone mad?!"
Looking at his decapitated clansn, Huangfu Zhong roared in fury.
"Is it really that hard for you to just cut open your bellies and take out the foreign object?! Must you trade Immortal Level Spirit dicine and Spirit Beasts for a single peanut?! And on top of that, you let a junior extort and manipulate you into committing such a brutal act, one that violates the rules of the Immortal Realm! Aren’t you afraid of being sanctioned by the Holy Land?!"
Huangfu Zhong had already cut his own belly open twice. Besides, he knew that even if he hadn’t, Mo Qi would never have traded a peanut with him. That’s why he couldn’t understand the other Immortals’ obsession with this.
In truth, the reason was simple. Who among those in the Hall of Envoys that had beco an Immortal wasn’t a grand figure, a veritable patriarch in their own right?
Who among them didn’t care about saving face?
In fact, the higher a person’s status, the more they cared about their reputation.
Immortal Level Spirit dicine was certainly precious, but it wasn’t unobtainable.
But once they got pregnant and gave birth—no matter the reason, and regardless of what they ultimately delivered—the "pregnant father" label would be stuck to them for good.
If word of this were to spread, and the other four districts besides the West District found out, they would beco the laughingstock of the entire continent.
So, to the Immortals, being extorted by Mo Qi and losing so worldly possessions was far, far better than having legends of their pregnancies and childbirths spread across the continent.
Moreover, any Immortal who had actually eaten a peanut ultimately knew that compared to what they lost, they had actually gained much more.
Strictly speaking, they had profited from the exchange. It wasn’t really extortion on Mo Qi’s part.
"Sanctions? I think you’re the one who deserves to be sanctioned! Huangfu Zhong, you were the one fanning the flas, spreading rumors that Young Fellow Mo possessed the legacy of an Ancient Great Power and inducing us to break the rules to attack him! Your intentions were vile; a heart like yours deserves death!"
"As an Immortal, you resorted to unscrupulous ans to maliciously suppress a junior! We couldn’t just stand by and watch. We must get justice for Young Fellow Mo!"
"That’s right! Even if this matter were brought before the Saint Ancestors themselves, we would still be in the right!"
"Death is upon you! Cease your pointless struggles!"
"..." Huangfu Zhong’s mouth gaped open, his face twitching. For a long mont, he was utterly speechless.
’Truly, the older one gets, the more shaless they beco. The higher one’s cultivation, the less integrity they have.’
’If you hadn’t all been preparing to make a move on Mo Qi before the two elders, Silver Hair and Jin Hua, appeared, I might have actually believed this righteous speech of yours.’
’But now, your behavior just makes sick.’
Mo Qi, standing to the side, was also a bit speechless. But he had to admit, this was incredibly satisfying, a huge relief.
That’s just how reality was. There were no eternal enemies, nor any eternal allies—only eternal power and a balance of interests.
Life was a play, and whether it turned out beautifully depended on one’s own skill and performance.
"I can’t figure out what’s wrong with all of you." Huangfu Zhong pointed toward the Spirit Pool. "Because of that brat Mo, the Spirit Pool is a total ss, and the Sub-Palace exchange has been thrown into complete chaos."
"And look at yourselves! Look at the state you’re all in, yet you’re still taking his side! Have you all lost your minds? Or do you all just have a masochistic streak? Are you perverts?" Having nearly lost his sanity, Huangfu Zhong began to curse wildly.
The hearts of the Immortals remained completely unstirred; in fact, they even felt the urge to drag Huangfu Zhong out of the Treasure Tower Immortal Artifact and give him a sound beating.
’If you could remove the fetuses from our bellies, let us return to normal, and heal our hidden injuries to boot, then you could do as you please as well.’
Mo Qi descended, landing in front of the Treasure Tower Immortal Artifact, and placed his hand on its wall.
He wanted to see if he could seize control of the Immortal Artifact, just as he had done before.
However, he quickly discovered a powerful Energy within the Treasure Tower Immortal Artifact that blocked his Gorging and Drinking power, preventing him from Array Breaking and seizing control.
Huangfu Zhong sensed sothing. With a re thought, the Treasure Tower Immortal Artifact responded, jolting violently and flinging Mo Qi away.
"Kid, give up on that idea! Even with your heaven-defying abilities, you can’t do a single thing to my Treasure Tower!"
This tower was the ultimate guarantee for his final plan. It was his trump card, bestowed upon him by a mysterious, powerful figure, and he would never have revealed it unless he was absolutely forced to.
Right now, he only wanted to wait for the Spirit Pool to reopen so he could get Huangfu Yu away from here safely.
With his Incarnation Battle Armor for protection and his Five Elents Dominating Body to dissipate the force, Mo Qi was unhard, despite being blasted several hundred yards away by the tower.
"Heh, you seem pretty confident in your tower," Mo Qi said with a laugh.
Huangfu Zhong ignored him, simply sitting down cross-legged inside the tower to begin his healing Cultivation.
"It’s fine." Mo Qi’s smile didn’t waver. ’As long as I have enough ti, with the analytical power of the Chaos Scripture, there’s no treasure I can’t claim!’
But there was no rush for now. He would handle a few miscellaneous matters first. It wasn’t like Huangfu Zhong could run away.
At this thought, Mo Qi waved his great sleeve. A complete stove, a full set of kitchen utensils, and a wide array of sauces and seasonings appeared before everyone.
"Present the heads of the Huangfu Clan mbers, form a line, and co exchange them for peanuts one by one!"
Upon hearing this, the Immortals hastily grabbed the heads of the Huangfu Clan mbers they had collected and ford a line in front of Mo Qi’s stove.
Mo Qi swept his gaze across the line.
"One hundred and thirty-two people in total, which ans one hundred and thirty-two peanuts."
Muttering to himself, Mo Qi brought out the Obsidian Cauldron and spat a flicker of his Nether Soul Fla beneath it.
Heating the cauldron, adding oil, and frying ginger and garlic until fragrant—it was all done in a single, fluid motion.
Before the dumbfounded eyes of the Immortals, Mo Qi lifted a hand, and all one hundred and thirty-two peanuts flew into the cauldron.
FWOOSH!
The flas surged as Mo Qi gripped the rim of the cauldron with one hand, a long ladle in the other, and began to stir-fry vigorously.
VMMMM!
In his Sea of Consciousness, the Chaos Scripture trembled slightly, transmitting a special kind of Energy.
At the right mont, Mo Qi activated his Gorging and Drinking power. The Energy from the Chaos Scripture enveloped this power, split it into one hundred and thirty-two portions, and fused them into the peanuts with each of Mo Qi’s tosses.
"This..." The Immortals all wore strange expressions.
’Didn’t he say a maximum of ten at a ti?’
’What’s the deal with cooking one hundred and thirty-two at once?’
Although they felt like they’d been played, the Immortals could only hold their noses and accept it.
After all, who else had these one-of-a-kind peanuts?
anwhile, seeing that Mo Qi’s "extortion" was proceeding smoothly, the Pig Emperor hefted his Obsidian Fire Stick and walked over to the Bald Immortal.
"Baldy, you are a grave disappointnt to , your emperor. I specifically wrote lyrics and composed a song for you, but not only were you not grateful, you even dared to attack ! That’s just too much."
As he spoke, the Pig Emperor hefted the Fire Stick in his hand and gestured toward the Bald Immortal’s large belly.
"Your brow is dark, a sign of impending bloodshed. Did you think I, your emperor, was just spouting nonsense?"
