Peanuts already possess a llow fragrance, and after Mo Qi’s special treatnt, they beca crisp without falling apart, their aroma rich but not overwhelming.
Though it was just a single peanut, the Immortal was completely captivated, lost in the sensation.
As he chewed it carefully, the unique fragrance of the nut built upon itself, layer by layer, growing ever more intense.
He closed his eyes, sniffing continuously to prevent any of the aroma from escaping his mouth or nose.
When the peanut had been chewed into a pulp, mixing with his saliva to form a paste, it slid down his throat and into his stomach. With nothing left to chew, the Immortal opened his eyes, still craving more.
When he ca to his senses, his first instinct wasn’t to check on his stomach. Instead, his eyes landed on the plate of peanuts.
It was a flavor beyond words, one he would never forget for the rest of his life!
He couldn’t help but lick his lips, desperate for another.
But Mo Qi spoke before he could. "One head for one peanut. If you want to trade, do it now. Those who are done and not trading, please step aside. Don’t block the way for others!"
The Immortal was speechless and swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue.
He had only managed to take one head from the Huangfu Family.
’If I’d known, I would have been more serious and killed a few more.’
It was too late for regrets now. He could tell Mo Qi wasn’t the type to haggle.
’If I want to eat another peanut, I’ll just have to wait and buy one with Immortal Level Spirit dicine.’
"Sigh..." He sighed. Trading Immortal Level Spirit dicine just to satisfy a craving was obviously not a good deal.
The Immortal shook his head and stepped aside.
Just as he was about to give up on the tempting idea, his senses registered his own condition.
Huh?
His eyes shot open in disbelief.
’How is this possible!’
He was shocked to discover that not only had the fetus in his abdon vanished, returning his stomach to normal, but a mysterious surge of Life Force now coursed through his body, erasing all the hidden injuries he had accumulated over the past few thousand years.
A refreshing, rejuvenating lightness spread through his entire body. If not for the tempered disposition he’d gained after becoming an Immortal, he would have jumped for joy.
Why does it beco harder to achieve a breakthrough the higher one’s Cultivation?
Aside from the drastically increased difficulty of the Realm’s bottleneck, there is another critical factor: hidden injuries.
In the Martial Arts World, strength reigns supre.
No one can guarantee that their path on the Martial Dao will be a smooth one.
Forget the countless trials and tribulations of battle, or the scars left behind by each life-or-death struggle. The very process of Cultivation itself is an ordeal. Every single breakthrough to a new Realm is a test for both body and soul.
A successful breakthrough certainly rewards you with feedback from the Realm, healing your wounds and greatly increasing your strength.
However, damage sustained during the process—whether from enemies or from the strain of the breakthrough itself—will inevitably leave behind hidden injuries that can never be fully healed.
Over ti, as one’s training intensifies and their Realm advances, these hidden injuries only continue to accumulate.
They might not be noticeable in daily life, but a quantitative change will inevitably lead to a qualitative one.
Once these hidden injuries build up to a certain point, they are bound to affect the very foundation of one’s Martial Dao.
At that point, stagnated Cultivation and the inability to advance even an inch will beco the norm.
Heart Demons will manifest, leading to cultivation deviation, and a complete collapse of one’s foundation will be the final outco.
Though everyone knows hidden injuries are a latent threat, even the best Pill Masters and Pharmacists in the Hall of Envoys are powerless against them.
If hidden injuries were so easy to remove, they wouldn’t be called "hidden."
It is said that in the Immortal Realm, there is an Immortal Pill known as the "Breaking Forbidden Pill" which can erase hidden injuries to a great extent.
This is another major reason why everyone in the Hall of Envoys longs to enter the Immortal Realm.
But now, because of a single peanut, his hidden injuries had vanished!
If he weren’t experiencing it firsthand, this Immortal would have thought he was going mad.
"Brother, why the long face and strange expression? Was the peanut ineffective?" The other experts surrounded the Immortal, asking one after another.
The Immortal suppressed his excitent, glanced at the crowd, and said, "I’m willing to buy the heads of the Huangfu Family from you for the price of two Immortal Level Spirit dicines each. I’ll take as many as you’ve got. Who wants to sell?"
The experts were stunned for a mont, but in the next instant, they understood.
’The peanut works!’
’Then what are we waiting for?!’
The crowd imdiately abandoned the Immortal. Carrying the heads from the Huangfu Family, they obediently ford a line in front of Mo Qi.
’Tch, a bunch of fools. Did they even need to ask? Couldn’t they see my stomach was already back to normal?’
The Immortal cursed inwardly, then gave Mo Qi, whose expression remained nonchalant, a deep look.
He made up his mind. He had to buy a few more peanuts, no matter the cost.
’With sothing this good, the more the better. They’ll definitely be useful in the future.’
What he didn’t know was that Mo Qi’s peanuts only worked to remove hidden injuries when combined with the Pig Emperor’s bizarre ability.
If one were to eat Mo Qi’s peanuts alone, they would have no effect other than being delicious.
Mo Qi held the plate, continuing to snack on peanuts himself as he exchanged them with the other Immortals.
Seeing that Mo Qi wasn’t angry about their earlier skepticism, the Immortals collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
But they soon discovered their relief was premature.
Out of a total of one hundred and thirty-two peanuts, fewer than sixty were traded away in the end. The rest all went into Mo Qi’s stomach.
They had assud Mo Qi would imdiately prepare a new batch of peanuts to take care of everyone who was left.
But to their surprise, Mo Qi only took out ten peanuts.
"Alright, the head-for-peanut exchange is over. Now, we’ll begin the official auction for the first batch. Sa old rules: highest bidder wins."
The Immortals: "???"
The experts still holding heads from the Huangfu Family were especially dumbfounded.
’We still have heads, how can it be over?’
’And what good are just ten peanuts?’
’Don’t try to tell us you can only guarantee the efficacy of ten at a ti.’
’We all saw you with those one hundred and thirty-two just a mont ago!’
"Um... Young Fellow Mo, have you perhaps forgotten sothing?" soone couldn’t resist "subtly" reminding him.
Mo Qi toyed with the peanuts in his hand and chuckled. "Nope, haven’t forgotten a thing."
"You see, we still have these heads from the Huangfu Family that we haven’t traded for peanuts. Shouldn’t the auction be postponed?"
Mo Qi scoffed. "Postpone? Postponing is out of the question. Besides, for one hundred and thirty-two heads, I already provided one hundred and thirty-two peanuts!"
The Immortals: "???"
’Right, you *provided* one hundred and thirty-two peanuts, but you ate nearly eighty of them yourself!’
As if sensing their inner turmoil, Mo Qi added, "The opportunity was a one-ti offer. You were the ones who didn’t believe in it, the ones who failed to seize it. You can’t bla for that."
The Immortals were collectively speechless, rolling their eyes in exasperation.
’So this was his plan all along!’
’And here we thought Mo Qi was truly magnanimous and wasn’t angry about our skepticism!’
"Alright, let’s hurry. If you all keep wasting ti with nonsense, my patience will run out." Mo Qi had no intention of coddling these old-tirs.
