Inside Pearl Academy.
Lu Jun was like a god presiding over the cycle of life and death. Two kinds of radiance black-gray and milky white, rotated behind him. Half the land saw all things revive, brimming with vitality; the other half saw all things wither away, steeped in deathly silence.
"This is..."
Several high-tier Healing-type instructors from the school infirmary were shocked pale and forced to retreat step by step, afraid of being tainted by the supre auras of life and death and suffering irreversible damage to their bodies.
Very quickly, Lu Jun’s eyes mutated. The transcendent characteristics of the Psychic and Curse Elents were revealed: the left eye was the Fantasy Pupil, the right eye the Nether-Gaze. Milky-white and black-gray radiance respectively dyed his pupils, as if life and death were contained within a single body.
At this mont, his appearance was extrely divine. His eyes actually manifested as double pupils, within the left eye, deep blue and milky light flowed in rotation; within the right eye, blood-red, ink-black and gray light burst forth. It was an ultimate sublimation, with his abilities evolving toward deeper layers.
Only the colors of life and death were unstable.
Lu Jun noticed this and was greatly astonished. Could it be that the future transcendent powers of his Life and Death Elents were also located in his eyes? Curse and Death as one, Psychic and Life as one?
No, the transcendent powers of Life and Death were not that simple.
It was likely because of his divine soul and armor, which caused Life and Death to beco closely entangled with Psychic and Curse. Added to that was the calamity bearer’s innate, powerful devouring and corrosive nature, which allowed the transcendent powers of his twin pupils to show signs of further derivation.
"After all, calamity bearers have single-elent tendencies. As cultivation grows, they devour other elents, leaving only themselves, exceptionally domineering."
Lu Jun sighed inwardly. It was only because his own eight elents were abnormally monstrous, each possessing Heaven-Tier Spirit, top-grade thods, and Heaven Seeds, with upper limits reaching Emperor level, all of them big brothers, that Life and Death would break their teeth even trying to devour them, which was why things remained unusually calm.
He had already noticed this problem recently and had been suppressing the Life and Death Elents to balance all eight.
Otherwise, with the unique advantages of Life and Death, even without cultivation, after more than half a year since awakening, breaking into High-Tier would have been effortless. He would not have remained stuck at the peak of Basic-Tier.
"The only perfect solution is Fusion Magic."
Lu Jun muttered to himself, yet his hands never stopped. With the interference of Psychic and Curse, the surrounding anomalies finally beca sowhat normal.
It was as if a dium had been introduced to neutralize them. No longer was there a stark split of half life and half death, but rather an interweaving, growth and decline, withering and flourishing, the cycle of rebirth.
Under Lu Jun’s spellcasting, Lu Weixi’s physical indicators began to stabilize. He was no longer like a humanoid mass of light and returned to being a normal person.
At this ti, Lu Weixi felt his overall condition was excellent, his grasp of the Light Elent smooth and natural. He stood up and sincerely thanked him, "Thank you, Brother Lu."
"No need to thank . It’s just a pity..."
Lu Jun sized Lu Weixi up and sighed with a shake of his head. Benefiting from the loss of control of the Light Calamity, his cultivation had advanced rapidly in just two short years, rising all the way from Mid-Tier Level Two to High-Tier Level Three. The price, however, was the atrophy of his other two elents.
The third elent that should have awakened at High-Tier died before it was born. His Mid-Tier Summoning Elent withered to the point of near collapse, dragging his summoned beast into deep slumber and almost killing it.
In the end, Lu Jun looked at him deeply and said, "You’re fine now. Even if you cultivate all the way to Super-Tier, it won’t greatly damage your soul or body. It’s just that the existence of the Light Calamity will cause environntal anomalies around you."
"You should still go to the Ancient Capital’s Undead lands. The power you release there can instead help the Ancient Capital suppress the undead and protect the people."
Hearing this, Lu Weixi had no objections. He had grown up in the Undead Forbidden Zone, and after the Temple Matron who raised him passed away, he had already resolved to grow old there as well.
Lu Jun pondered that once this Light-Elent calamity bearer matured, he would definitely be a terrifying bane to the undead. When the ti ca for him to consider unifying the Underworld King’s authority, Lu Weixi would be a reliable helper.
"All right. You’ve just escaped the danger of losing control. Rest for a while first."
He comforted Lu Weixi, then turned and left, heading for the principal’s office to see his ntor, Principal Xiao.
When Lu Jun arrived at the familiar office, a kindly old man looked at him with a smile.
Principal Xiao said gently, "You’re back? You did quite well in the National Governnt Competition, sweeping through fifteen nations with thunderous montum."
Lu Jun replied modestly, "Master, you flatter ."
"Hahaha." Principal Xiao laughed and shook his head, then looked out the window and said, "You’ve seen Ding Yumian and Lu Weixi already? They’re doing fine, right? You brat are always causing trouble for ."
Hearing this, Lu Jun scratched his head. "Hehehe."
Don’t think Principal Xiao had done nothing. In reality, he had been quietly protecting Lu Jun. The very existence of Pearl Academy helped conceal two calamity bearers for him, both seeds of future powerhouses.
Principal Xiao seed to issue a warning as he said, "Take good care of those two. And as for the abnormalities in your combat power during the National Governnt period, fortunately, the Parthenon diverted part of the Holy City’s attention. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gotten off so easily."
"There isn’t much ti left. Only by becoming strong yourself can you stand firm in this world."
Lu Jun was not surprised. Those with insight all knew that the human race was beset with troubles both internal and external. Internally, many major powers could no longer tolerate the Holy City’s overbearing dictatorship. Externally, calamities such as the Sea Monster Empire and the Antarctic Empire were making a coback.
The two chatted for a while, after which Lu Jun took the initiative to ask about the Water Elent Circulation Grand Formation.
Principal Xiao’s Water Elent Circulation Grand Formation would play an enormous role a year later when the Pacific Empire attacked.
At that ti, Kyushu’s territory had suddenly been reduced by more than half, with only five major coastal base cities remaining. The reason tens of billions of people could still be sustained was precisely because food production had been guaranteed.
"Everything’s going smoothly." Principal Xiao replied casually. "So ti ago, there was a small issue with the deploynt of the Water Elent Circulation Grand Formation in Zhejiang Province. The source of the water veins was blocked. I was planning to send people to investigate, but a few days ago it inexplicably recovered on its own."
Hearing this, Lu Jun fell into thought. The blockage of the water vein source had been caused by the moths bred by the Moth Queen. Its sudden unblocking a few days ago ant that the Moth Queen, Yu Shishi, had encountered trouble and was fleeing her holand.
"So Su Lu’s faction really is targeting her."
Lu Jun thought to himself. After that, he bade farewell to Principal Xiao. As he strolled through the campus, he simultaneously activated his Psychic Elent, using his will to remotely monitor the four mbers of the Society he had encountered at the airport.
He likewise did not know Yu Shishi’s whereabouts, but that was fine. He could borrow the forces under Su Lu to search for the Totem Moon Moth Phoenix on his behalf.
However, according to Lu Jun’s perception, Bashalio and the other three were still staying within the Magic City, likely recuperating from their injuries. He would wait for them to make a move before stepping in to finish things off.
"I’ll let you live a little longer."
Lu Jun sneered softly, put the matter aside, and walked into the laboratory of Pearl Academy.
"Professor Yuan, have you been well lately?"
He said with a smile as he knocked and entered, only to see Professor Yuan—wearing glasses and a white lab coat—directing the graduate students under him to pack up their things. He was imdiately puzzled. "What’s going on? It looks like you’re packing up to leave?"
As the words fell, Professor Yuan turned around in surprise. Then he hesitated, his expression complicated as he looked Lu Jun up and down, before finally unable to help asking, "You’re back? You really achieved Super Tier?"
"Genuine, no substitutions, four elents at Super Tier. I’ve barely completed the basics."
Lu Jun was all smiles, deliberately twisting the knife, though he didn’t reveal which elents they were.
Even so, Professor Yuan instantly looked like he had lost the will to live.
