Lu Jun walked back, pondering over the conversation he had just had.
He couldn't deny that Ding Yumian's talent gave him great inspiration. In the future, he could follow her model to improve his Spiritual System, potentially reaching a Forbidden stage, which would have terrifying destructive power. It might even contain the secret to becoming an emperor.
She had already confird so of his speculations as a subject, and after researching it, he might learn sothing.
When he returned ho, he was surprised to see that the lights in the Jin Yuan apartnt were still on. He suddenly realized he had beco too imrsed in his research with Ding Yumian and almost forgot that his sister was waiting for him.
They still had a city monster hunting team mission, which Lu i had been handling.
"This is troubleso. Why is she still awake?"
Lu Jun nervously pushed open the door and saw Lu i sitting on the sofa in a black silk nightgown, her fair, smooth legs crossed as she hugged herself with her arms.
Seeing this, Lu Jun swallowed, his gaze lingering. The black nightgown contrasted beautifully with her fair skin, making her look even more seductive.
Lu i, who had initially been stern, saw him frozen in place, and snapped, "What are you looking at?"
"Hehe," Lu Jun laughed sheepishly, quickly flattering her, "You look really beautiful... By the way, why are you still awake so late? You should rest, or your skin will suffer."
But Lu i wasn't fooled by his flattery. She coldly replied, "First of all, I'm a mage, staying up won't harm my health. Secondly, why are you back so late?"
"Ah haha," Lu Jun scratched his head awkwardly. "I had sothing urgent at the academy today, coordinating resources with Director Xiao."
"Is that so?" Lu i pulled out her phone and showed Lu Jun a photo of him and Ding Yumian chatting in a café. The angle of the photo made it look like they were in a close, intimate position.
Damn, Lu Jun thought, cold sweat dripping down. What if his sister misunderstood? He wished he could track down the person who took the photo and make them pay.
As he examined the photo more closely, he saw that it was taken from the school forum, and he was stunned. "Sis, when did you join the school forum?"
"Hmm?" Lu i raised an eyebrow, crossing her legs. "Don't worry about that. Explain this then? While I'm working hard at night shift, you're chatting with so girl... oh, and the girl from the beast fighting arena who was giving you hug."
By this point, she hadn't realized her tone had turned sowhat sour.
Lu Jun couldn't find words to respond. Ding Yumian's secret must not be exposed. The more people who know, the higher the risk of it being leaked. He had to shut his mouth in frustration.
Seeing Lu Jun's obedient and silent deanor, Lu i felt inexplicably irritated, though she couldn't pinpoint the reason. She sighed and finally said, "It's normal to want to date in college. Just let know next ti."
She stood up from the sofa and was about to return to her room.
"Wait," Lu Jun quickly called out, then hesitated before saying vaguely, "It's not what you think... um... there's a big connection. I can't reveal the secret."
He nervously waited, unsure whether his sister would believe him.
Lu i suddenly paused. Hearing his explanation, she felt much better. She turned around, her black skirt swirling like a blooming flower, and with a slight smile, she said, "Alright, I believe you. Go to bed early. I forgive you."
At that mont, Lu Jun was montarily stunned, his heart pounding. "Who can resist this?"
Excited, he took a shower and went to bed, but he couldn't sleep that whole night, his mind racing with various scenarios. He kept thinking about Ding Yumian's beautiful silhouette, their day of endless conversation, the hotel night with Tang Yue, and the monts shared with Lu i.
The next morning, he woke up with dark circles under his eyes, sighed, and muttered, "I'm dead tired."
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door outside the Jin Yuan apartnt.
Lu Jun was puzzled. Who could it be so early in the morning? At the sa ti, his other sister walked out, her sleepwear falling off her shoulder, revealing her smooth, delicate collarbone and white skin.
She yawned and asked, "Who's there?"
Lu Jun, ever vigilant, expanded his ntal power, using his Spiritual System to sense the emotions outside. After interacting with Ding Yumian all day, he had gotten better at analyzing emotional cues like hostility, goodwill, and intent.
When he realized that the person outside had a calm mind, he relaxed and opened the door, only to find a beautiful and noble woman standing there. She had delicate features and an alluring figure.
He hesitated and asked, "Who are you?"
"Hello," the woman greeted warmly, "I'm Mu Nu Jiao from the Mui family. Apologies for the disturbance."
Oh, it's her, Lu Jun realized. A supporting character from the original story. A year later, she would reach the interdiate level of dual systems and would specialize in combat, later transitioning to education work. She was currently his age and should be at the interdiate level as well.
The Mu family was known for their "Heavenly Fairy Talent" and their love for battle.
Lu i, hearing the conversation, walked out and frowned, asking, "What is it? Another recruitnt?"
When Lu Jun was in a coma after fighting thousands of freshn, many prominent families in Magic City ca to recruit the siblings. Ordinary mages with such high potential were rare, and everyone wanted to recruit them.
However, Lu i had rejected all of them. If they really wanted to join a powerful family, they would have done so in Bo City.
Mu Nu Jiao wasn't offended by the rejection. She smiled gracefully, "Yes, I'm here on behalf of the Mui family to recruit you."
Lu i sighed and said, "Forget it, we're not interested."
"It's fine," Mu Nu Jiao replied, seeming to be satisfied with just completing her task. She wasn't persistent.
Lu i and Lu Jun were taken aback. They had never encountered soone so indifferent to failure in such matters. Most recruiters were either arrogant or overly persuasive, but Mu Nu Jiao had taken a completely different approach.
"Surprised?" Mu Nu Jiao smiled. "Actually, I wouldn't have co if it weren't for my family's request. It's useless to co here now. If you were interested, the previous ten or so families wouldn't have been turned down. It's obvious you want to remain independent."
She continued leisurely, "Compared to that, I'd prefer to maintain a friendship with you. I have high hopes for your future. If you ever want to rent the Star River Magic Tool or buy Star River veins, feel free to contact ."
"I'll use my connections to help you build a platform. I believe the Mu family's friendship is sothing you'll need."
Hearing her words, both Lu i and Lu Jun nodded. This approach was much more pleasant than the others they had encountered.
Lu Jun thought to himself, Not bad. As expected, the Mu family is the most impressive among the four great families of Magic City. The Mu sisters were both sharp and capable, their leadership strong, and there were no spoiled children under their rule.
"By the way," Mu Nu Jiao winked at Lu Jun, "I plan to enroll in Pearl University next year. You'll be my senior."
With her sister present, Lu Jun replied calmly, "That's a coincidence."
Mu Nu Jiao, skilled in reading the atmosphere, looked at them both, smiled, and said, "Well, I won't bother you two any longer. Here's my business card."
With that, she left, graceful and free.
The two siblings exchanged glances but didn't dwell on the brief encounter, returning to their rooms to cultivate.
