Imdiately, the door opened. The man looked at Trevor, his eyes red, probably from alcohol, or perhaps from the argunt that had already been going on in the sitting room.
He remained quiet, looking straight past Trevor at Rose, who stood just behind him.
"Co on, Victor, don’t tell you’re thinking like a jerk. He’s only my employee, and I haven’t even seen him for so ti," Rose spoke calmly, as if they had not been arguing just monts ago.
Victor didn’t say anything further. He simply turned and left the building. He was definitely heading to work.
There was a brief, awkward silence in the air, but Miss Rose imdiately cleared it.
"Trevor, please co in. Don’t mind my manners," she said calmly.
She was a very attractive woman. She was currently wearing a baggy shirt, which, despite its looseness, was pushed outward by her chest.
Her hair was purple in color, styled neatly with a clip at the side that held it together, making her look even more stunning.
She wore an elastic skirt to complete her outfit. The skirt was only slightly shorter than usual, but it still remained within a decent and acceptable range.
"So, what brings you over to my house?" Miss Silvia asked calmly as she took a seat on one of the cushions.
"Take a seat, please," she added, making herself comfortable.
"Well, good morning, ma. I ca to apologize for not coming to work for over a week now," Trevor said calmly, carefully controlling his words.
"Well, I see. I hope you have a good reason for that, right?" Mia said calmly, giving him a look that clearly ant he had better not disappoint her.
"Yes, ma, I do have a reason," Trevor replied calmly, taking a deep breath before finally speaking.
"I have found a new job, and I would like to resign from my work here," Trevor said, maintaining his composure as he looked straight into her eyes.
"Are you kidding ?" Miss Rose asked calmly.
Trevor knew deep down that this information was definitely not going to sit well with her, at the very least.
She had grown quite close to him during this ti.
She often ca to his area during work hours to tell him about her relationship problems. Sotis she sought his advice, and other tis she just needed soone to genuinely vent to.
"No, ma, I’m not joking. I have found a job that pays more," Trevor said calmly, unable to bring himself to look her directly in the eyes.
Miss Rose let out a sigh of relief, as if she had finally understood everything.
"Trevor, it’s alright. I know where this is going. I’ll double your salary. After all, you’re not just an employee, you’re my very good friend," she said with a smile.
Trevor looked at her for a few seconds, then lowered his head once again.
Almost imdiately, Miss Rose’s smile froze on her face.
"Wait... that’s not the problem?" She imdiately stood up from her seat and then sat down closer to Trevor.
"What’s the problem? If it’s your mom, I can talk to her. She’s a very good friend of mine."
Trevor shook his head, indicating that it wasn’t his mother.
"Then what is it? Are you being bullied by anyone at work?" she asked, still calm, trying her best to get him to explain.
"It’s actually nothing. I just don’t want to continue, since I’ve gotten a new job, and it pays more, especially with this one being at night," Trevor said calmly.
Before Miss Rose could say anything else, Trevor quickly added,
"Trust , it’s my choice. I really want to thank you for everything you’ve done for during the past weeks I’ve worked in your company."
This ti, he received no response.
He could see Miss Rose trying to hold herself together after hearing the news.
Trevor almost felt bad, but it wasn’t really his fault.
By next week, he would begin his dungeon journeys, so he couldn’t afford to juggle everything at once.
Just before Trevor could speak again, Victor barged into the house. He walked straight to the television stand and grabbed the docunt he had co for.
Then he finally spoke.
"Please prepare sothing for us to eat. I’ll be having so guests over tonight."
With that, he left the house again.
Rose’s mood visibly worsened.
Trevor, noticing this, began to think of ways to lighten the mood.
But what he didn’t know was that Victor had been cheating on Rose every single night with other won.
It had been going on for over two months now.
Yet she had refused to tell anyone, including Trevor, because it felt too embarrassing.
The worst part was that she had tried her best to stop him, but she simply couldn’t.
Still, she stayed, as though bound by sothing she couldn’t explain.
"Well, don’t worry. I’m sure he’s really the best for you. He might just be having a bad day or sothing," Trevor said calmly, trying to lift her spirits.
He had always tried not to take Rose’s side over the weeks, often offering excuses for Victor, mostly because he suspected she wasn’t telling him everything.
On a normal day, Rose would have agreed with Trevor and even asked for advice on how to handle such bad days better.
But tonight was different.
She was done.
She wasn’t sure what made her realize it, whether it was the sadness or sothing else, but sothing inside her had shifted.
She was tired of all the pain Victor had caused her. All the tis he had beaten her over minor mistakes.
All the nights she had tried to sleep while hearing disturbing sounds from his room.
She was tired of everything.
Slowly, she raised her head and looked at Trevor.
"No... he is a very horrible human being, and I don’t want to have anything to do with him anymore."
