A New Dragon Enters the Ga

Jones Household Private Hospital — Valemont

The room slled faintly of antiseptic and dicine.

Outside the large window, evening light slowly dimd, the sky turning a deep shade of violet as night approached. Inside the quiet hospital room, machines humd softly.

Evan lay stiffly on the hospital bed.

His face looked calm on the surface, but his mind was in turmoil.

Five hours.

It had already been five full hours since the Scythe Division had moved to eliminate Julian D’Aurelius.

Yet...

Not a single ssage had returned.

Not even one.

Evan stared at the ceiling, his fingers tightening slowly against the bedsheet.

The silence was suffocating.

The Scythe Division was not so ordinary group of assassins.

Each of the four mbers was a peak Iron Realm Old Martial Arts expert.

Individually they were formidable.

Together...

Their combined assault technique could even threaten opponents stronger than themselves.

Even if they couldn’t kill Julian...

They should have at least been able to retreat safely.

Yet now—

Nothing.

No report.

No ssage.

No signal.

The silence gnawed at Evan’s nerves.

With every passing minute, his unease grew heavier.

His jaw clenched.

"Julian..."

His voice ca out cold and bitter.

"I don’t believe you have the ability to destroy the Scythe Division."

His fists tightened.

But the mont his emotions surged—

A sharp pain suddenly shot through his lower body.

"Ah—!"

Evan gasped sharply.

The wound on his rear throbbed violently.

The humiliating injury from before still hadn’t healed.

He quickly forced himself to relax, breathing slowly.

He dared not agitate himself too much.

The wound had already torn open once.

If it split again...

The recovery would beco far more troubleso.

Evan slowly exhaled, forcing his thoughts back under control.

After thinking for a mont, he pressed the call button beside the bed.

Soon, a nurse entered the room.

"Please..."

Evan said quietly.

"Help ask Miss Hamsa Jones to co here. I need the Jones household’s help investigating sothing."

The nurse nodded politely and left.

The room fell silent again.

Fifteen minutes later—

The door opened.

Hamsa Jones walked inside carrying a small bag.

Her long black hair flowed neatly behind her shoulders, and her elegant posture made the room feel brighter the mont she entered.

Her figure was graceful and mature.

The curve of her D-cup breasts, narrow waist, and wide hips created a naturally alluring silhouette beneath her professional attire.

But her eyes remained calm and composed.

She stopped beside the bed and spoke gently.

"Mr. Evan, you were looking for ?"

Evan nodded slightly.

"Miss Jones... I need your help."

A tight grin tugged at his lips.

"I lost contact with four of my subordinates."

"They were supposed to complete a task today, but they disappeared."

"I need the Jones household’s network to help investigate what happened."

Just as Evan began explaining—

A quiet man’s voice broke the silence, coming from beyond the doorway.

"There’s no need to investigate."

Into view stepped Evan, then Hamsa close behind. The door fra caught their attention at once.

The door slowly opened.

"They’re already in jail."

A figure moved into the room. A youth followed behind him.

A young man stepped inside.

Tall.

Handso.

His blond hair shone faintly under the hospital lights, and his blue eyes carried a mischievous glint.

There was a faint hint of arrogance in his smile.

Lucas.

The mont his eyes landed on Evan, amusent flashed across his face.

The mighty Obsidian Kings...

Reduced to hiding in a hospital bed after fleeing naked.

What a ridiculous sight.

Frozen mid-step, Lucas noticed Evan’s face shift like clouds breaking after rain.

His brows furrowed.

"Junior Brother?"

A hush broke as his words rose, caught off guard.

"Weren’t you on a mission in Japan?"

"When did you arrive in Valemont?"

Lucas smiled faintly.

"Today."

Fingers tucked deep, he drifted through the doorway without hurry.

"Master already knows about the Scythe Division incident."

"He sent here to help you."

Down went Evan’s heart, just like that, hearing those few quiet words.

So it was true.

The Scythe Division had failed.

And worse—

Master had already heard about it.

Evan’s thoughts turned dark.

Why send Lucas here?

What was the Old Man implying?

Did he think Evan was incapable?

His expression changed subtly, emotions flickering across his face.

Lucas continued speaking calmly.

"Master told you to focus on recovering."

"Once you’re healed..."

"You should go to Valcenza."

"I will take care of the situation in Valemont."

Lucas smiled again.

But this ti...

There was a faint trace of disdain in his eyes.

The words struck Evan like a blade.

His face turned pale.

What did Master an by this?

Evan stared at Lucas carefully.

Suddenly—

His pupils shrank.

"You..."

His voice beca sharp.

"You broke through?"

Lucas’s smile widened.

He nodded slowly.

His aura felt stronger than before.

Much stronger.

His cultivation had already reached the peak of the Silver Realm.

Just one step away from the Gold Realm.

anwhile—

Evan himself remained stuck in the mid-stage Silver Realm.

Lucas looked at him with thinly veiled arrogance.

A man who repeatedly failed...

A man weaker than himself...

Did he truly deserve to sit on the throne of Obsidian Kings?

Perhaps...

Master thought the sa.

Which was why he sent Lucas here.

A perfect opportunity.

Lucas’s eyes glead.

The position of Obsidian Kings...

He intended to claim it.

Evan’s expression darkened.

His silence felt heavy.

A faint killing intent flickered in his eyes.

Lucas...

You think you can take my throne?

Just wait.

Once I break through...

You will die.

Lucas noticed the hostility.

But he simply smiled.

"Take your ti recovering, Senior Brother."

He turned toward the door.

"I’ll handle the rest."

"I’ll take my leave."

Lucas walked out calmly.

Hamsa Jones followed behind him.

As they stepped into the hallway, she glanced at him thoughtfully.

"So..."

"Mr. Lucas will be responsible for Valemont now?"

Lucas nodded.

"Yes."

His lips curled into a wicked smile.

Interestingly...

Both he and Evan had the sa habit when smiling.

The difference was subtle.

Evan’s smile always lifted the left corner of his mouth.

Lucas’s lifted the right.

Hamsa shook her head slightly.

"That won’t be easy."

"The Bear Group’s situation is already terrible."

"Turning that around won’t be simple."

The Jones household had no intention of getting involved.

There was no reason to invite unnecessary trouble.

Lucas chuckled softly.

His voice carried absolute arrogance.

"What Evan can do..."

"I can do."

"And what Evan cannot do..."

"I, Lucas..."

"...can also do."

His fingers moved slowly toward the necklace resting on his chest.

Hanging there was a dark gem carved with the shape of a dragon.

The Black Dragon Gem.

Lucas touched it lightly.

A mory surfaced in his mind.

When he was seven years old, he had discovered this gem by chance.

One day he had suffered a nosebleed.

A drop of blood had fallen onto the gem.

And then—

It awakened.

The gem contained the inheritance of an ancient master.

Lucas firmly believed that the person who left that inheritance must have been a Platinum Realm Old Martial Arts expert.

With such an inheritance...

Reaching that realm himself was only a matter of ti.

The throne of Obsidian Kings...

Was already within reach.

Lucas’s eyes glead with ambition.

After arriving in Valemont, he would turn this losing situation around.

For that useless Evan.

Everything Evan valued...

Power.

Authority.

And even the won around him.

Lucas intended to take them all.
