A Birthday Decision

Liza Voss stared at Julian D’Aurelius, puzzled, her dark eyes clouded with uncertainty. Though quiet, the look held questions he couldn’t answer just yet.

Funny how the boy thought she’d switch sides. Young Master Julian never saw that coming - her standing firm, not swayed by his offer. Quiet monts passed. Then a smile flickered across her lips, cold but knowing.

Might such a thing ever happen at all?

A silence held her for what felt like ages. Around them, the room sat in an odd hush - only the whisper of cool air pushing through vents, pages shifting slightly under still fingers, city sounds muffled behind thick panes far off.

Backward her thoughts slipped.

From the mont her ears caught Julian’s unspoken words, digging into the D’Aurelius family slipped into her days like a slow shadow. She moved without noise, piece by piece uncovering what hid behind their polished doors.

Foot first into the past, her hands pulled out pieces that made her freeze. Each layer uncovered left her staring blankly ahead.

Because during that investigation... she discovered sothing about her father.

His na was Logan Voss.

More than thirty years ago, Logan had offended a powerful figure. That mistake turned his life into a nightmare.

He was hunted down relentlessly.

Cornered.

Desperate.

And just when he was about to die—

He was saved by the old patriarch of the D’Aurelius household.

From that day onward, Logan Voss beca the head of the D’Aurelius family’s bodyguard unit.

And he served them with absolute loyalty.

He saved the old patriarch’s life twice.

Not once.

Twice.

Because of that, the D’Aurelius household trusted him deeply. Julian’s father treated Logan not as a subordinate... but as a brother.

For more than a decade, Logan Voss protected the family.

Then one day—

He suddenly disappeared.

The D’Aurelius household searched everywhere.

Years passed.

No trace.

Then one day, several years later, a pregnant woman appeared at the D’Aurelius estate.

She claid to be Logan Voss’s wife.

Naturally, the D’Aurelius family took her in and treated her with respect.

Half a year later, she gave birth to a daughter.

But shortly after...

The woman disappeared again.

She vanished without warning—taking the newborn child with her.

After that, the trail went completely cold.

The D’Aurelius household never found them.

And the records ended there.

Liza lowered her eyes slightly.

That child...

Was her.

From that mont on, she understood sothing very clearly.

The D’Aurelius household was not her enemy.

On the contrary.

They had shown her family incredible kindness.

How could she repay kindness with hatred?

Heavy was how her chest suddenly felt at just the idea.

A quiet breath filled her lungs, then she pulled attention to now. The mont before faded when focus returned.

"Ah... Young Master Julian celebrating my birthday?"

A nervous twitch made her rub her face. She touched her skin without thinking.

"Isn’t that a bit inappropriate?"

With a flick of his fingers, Julian turned away. A quick motion cut through the air.

"What’s inappropriate about it?"

A slouch by the desk gave him a relaxed look.

"You’ve been at the company for a long ti."

"Playing gas here every day—"

He paused.

Then corrected himself smoothly.

"I an... working hard and making huge contributions."

He nodded with exaggerated seriousness.

"Because of you, the company’s ga projects are moving forward at rocket speed."

"You’re basically the number one contributor to D’Aurelius Group."

"So this birthday?"

"I’m personally arranging it."

His voice sounded righteous and confident.

Inside his mind, however—

(That’s right.)

(I want you to see what a good boss really looks like.)

(Unlike that stingy Evan who sends you to do dangerous missions and only pays you a few thousand a month.)

(’Hardship builds character,’ my ass.)

(Even capitalists would cry if they saw how you’re treated.)

(Stick with your handso boss—that ans —and you’ll live in luxury and eat nine als a day.)

Liza bit her lip.

Her chest felt warm again.

"Okay."

She nodded softly.

"Thank you, Young Master Julian."

Julian grinned.

"Good."

He glanced at the clock.

"Take a break. Then we’ll head out."

He stretched lazily.

"First we’ll buy you a birthday gift."

"Then we’ll have a big al."

Inside his mind, however—

(Hmm... what should I buy her?)

(A year’s supply of papaya milk to help her boobs grow?)

(Or so special ointnt to increase boob size?)

(But I’ve heard papaya milk and ointnts aren’t very effective...)

Julian frowned slightly in thought.

(Ancient dicine actually has thods to enhance a woman’s chest.)

(But her condition would require clearing the nervous system pathways first.)

(For that... I’d have to perform daily manual massage therapy on her boobs.)

He paused.

(But if I tried that, she’d probably chop off my hand.)

He sighed dramatically.

(Sigh... I’m just too kind-hearted.)

(I can’t stand seeing such a beautiful girl walking around so plain.)

(At the very least she deserves D-cup boobs.)

(What a pity... I have all these techniques but nowhere to use them.)

"..."

Liza’s shoulders trembled slightly.

Young Master Julian...

You really care about my A-cup boobs, don’t you?

Her face gradually turned red.

But the embarrassing part was—

She had actually tried a lot of things in private.

When she lived as an assassin, body shape didn’t matter. In fact, smaller breasts were more convenient during combat.

But now...

Living a normal life...

She sotis wondered if she should look a little more feminine.

So she had secretly tried drinking papaya milk.

Using special creams.

Even strange herbal redies.

None of them worked.

Her gaze unconsciously dropped toward her chest.

Her small breasts rose and fell gently under her blouse.

Could... his thod really work?

Her imagination betrayed her.

For a brief mont she imagined Julian’s warm hands—

Her face instantly turned bright red.

"What am I thinking?!"

She quickly scolded herself internally.

After leaving the office, Julian brought Liza down to the underground parking area.

Soon his sleek sports car roared out onto the streets of Valemont.

The city lights shimred around them as the car sped toward a massive luxury shopping mall.

Julian drove casually with one hand on the wheel.

"We’ll buy you a birthday gift first."

"Then so clothes."

He glanced at her.

"You’re a girl."

"You should learn to dress up sotis."

His tone carried a teasing edge.

Inside his mind—

( Sigh... this silly girl is an amazing assassin. )

( But as a normal girl she’s kind of unconventional. )

( Her clothes are outdated. )

( I’ve never even seen her wear a skirt. )

He shook his head slightly.

( She’s so pretty. )

( Not dressing up and beautifying the city is practically a cri. )

Liza quietly listened.

Her cheeks flushed faintly.

"Okay."

She nodded softly.

"Thank you, Young Master Julian."

Deep inside her heart, sothing warm and unfamiliar spread quietly.

Growing up...

Julian was the first person who ever wanted her to live like a normal girl.

Not as an assassin.

Not as a weapon.

Just—

A girl.
