Thirteen Shadow Acupuncture

Evan didn’t even spare Julian D’Aurelius a single glance.

Those so-called second-generation wealthy playboys were nothing but empty bags, hollow shells of entitlent. For every general’s rise, thousands of bones had to dry in the sun, forming the path beneath his feet—and they were those very bones.

His gaze had already settled on Amara Ravenswood, a hint of desire glinting in his black eyes.

Returning to Valemont, Evan had imdiately ordered his subordinates to investigate, to compile dossiers on all the famous beauties across the city. Each detail ticulously recorded, every family background checked, every potential use noted.

Amara ranked in the top ten.

It was settled. She would join his harem.

It wasn’t just her looks - striking as they were - but who she ca from. Her grandfather carried weight, known far beyond the hills. The Ravenswoods had healed rulers, diplomats, even rebels when needed. Standing beside Amara ant more than admiration - it opened doors sealed tight to others.

Right now, Amara paid attention like nothing else existed. Not a blink, just her hazel eyes moving slowly over Old Master De Dominicis while she figured out what was wrong. Each beat of his heart, each tiny shift in his face - she caught it all. Centuries of knowing dicine gave her that sharpness.

Monts later, she straightened slightly, releasing her hold. Ryan De Dominicis leaned forward anxiously.

"Divine Doctor Ravenswood, how is my grandfather?" His voice carried a tremor of worry.

Amara’s gaze remained calm, professional. "A stroke has caused a blockage in the ridians, along with other complications leading to partial paralysis. But it’s manageable. I can use the Thirteen Shadow Acupuncture Therapy to clear the ridians and restore balance."

She opened her box of silver needles, each one gleaming in the soft courtyard light.

Turning to Julian, she called, "Cousin Julian, co over and help sterilize these needles."

Julian froze, a mix of reluctance and dread crossing his golden-eyed face.

"Huh... I—I’m not sure I can do it..."

A man shouldn’t speak of his inability, yet Julian truly felt inadequate. Already lying down in life’s grand ga, now he was being asked to handle delicate silver needles?

Amara’s voice sharpened, tinged with exasperation but still gentle. "Cousin Julian, you were skilled before! You’re the only one here who knows the sequence of my needles!"

Julian clenched his jaw, wishing he could sink into the bed himself rather than stand beside the poised, confident woman. Yet in front of the patriarch and the gathered family, he could not refuse—refusal would seem disrespectful.

As he picked up the silver needles to begin sterilization, he felt the weight of a pair of dark eyes on him. Evan’s gaze burned through him with silent, calculated murderous intent.

Damn you, Unlucky Guy... how did I get cursed to cross paths with this man again? Julian’s mind raced.

Evan, teeth clenched invisibly behind his calm facade, thought the sa. This D’Aurelius truly deserves to die. He dares to touch the woman I want?

Amara, aware of the need for focus, instructed the others: "Close all the doors and windows, and everyone step back a little."

Only birds broke the silence now, wings flicking between stone edges. Near her shoulder, Julian waited without speaking, hands ready when needed. Each item found its place through small deliberate acts, like steps before a vow.

A breath caught in her throat, poised to start the Thirteen Shadow Acupuncture Therapy - then Evan moved ahead, stillness breaking under his weight. His stance held firm, quiet but impossible to ignore.

"Divine Doctor Ravenswood," he said evenly, voice calm yet carrying a weight that made the air thrum, "are you planning to use the Thirteen Shadow Acupuncture Therapy to treat Old Master De Dominicis’ paralysis at the Heavenly Pillar Point?"

Her fingers hung still above the table. Eyes lifting, she held his stare without blinking. That answer ca flat, quiet - "Yes." A pause. Then: "What of it?"
