A Chase Written in Blood

Damn, that’s foul."

The words cut through the air like a slap.

They weren’t loud—but they didn’t need to be.

In a quiet, refined auction hall filled with the wealthy elite, even a whisper could carry judgnt.

"What is that sll? Did soone shit themselves?"

The voice ca from sowhere behind—half-joking, half-serious—but the disgust was unmistakable.

A ripple passed through the surrounding crowd. People shifted in their seats. So leaned back slightly. Others turned their heads, searching for the source.

"No way, we’re not kids."

The attempt at humor fell flat.

Because the sll didn’t go away.

If anything, it thickened.

Heavy.

Clinging.

Unavoidable.

Hearing their words, Lucas’s face turned green.

Not taphorically.

Actually green.

His jaw tightened so hard the muscles along his cheeks trembled faintly. His nostrils flared, then imdiately regretted it.

The stench was coming from his mouth, and even he could sll it.

That realization hit him like a hamr.

It wasn’t just embarrassnt anymore.

It was humiliation.

Complete.

Absolute.

That damned Julian D’Aurelius... it wasn’t enough to poison him, he even mixed in shit.

The thought burned through him like acid.

His fingers dug into his palms, nails biting into flesh.

Was this sothing a human could do?

His mind rejected it.

But his body—

His senses—

They told him otherwise.

He changed his mind again.

The killing intent inside him shifted.

Sharpened.

Darkened.

He would beat this guy until he was crippled and drown him in a cesspool.

Not kill him quickly.

No.

That would be too kind.

"I’m going to the restroom."

His voice ca out low, strained, as if forced through clenched teeth.

Just as Lucas said this, Yana Tyson gagged again.

She turned her head sharply, covering her mouth with one hand, her body recoiling instinctively.

Her eyes watered slightly.

It wasn’t an act.

That sll—

It was unbearable.

"..."

Lucas froze for a fraction of a second.

That silent reaction—

More cutting than any insult.

Humiliated to the extre, Lucas almost ground his teeth to dust and angrily ran to the restroom to rinse his mouth.

His footsteps were fast.

Heavy.

Each step like he was trying to crush the ground beneath him.

The mont he pushed into the restroom, the cool, sterile air hit his face—but it did nothing to cleanse what clung to him.

There was disposable mouthwash in the restroom.

He grabbed it imdiately.

One bottle.

Two.

Three.

He didn’t care.

He rinsed for about five minutes.

Again.

Again.

Again.

The liquid burned his tongue.

His throat.

But he kept going.

Spitting into the sink over and over.

The foul sll in his mouth only dissipated partially.

It lingered.

Stubborn.

Mocking.

Like a ghost refusing to leave.

Seeing that he couldn’t get rid of the taste, Lucas shouted in anger and punched the restroom mirror, shattering it.

CRASH.

Glass exploded outward.

Fragnts scattered across the floor, reflecting his distorted face in dozens of broken pieces.

"Julian D’Aurelius, I want you dead."

His voice was low.

Hoarse.

But filled with sothing terrifying.

Back in the hall—

Julian D’Aurelius, who was leaning back in his seat feeling the changes in his body, suddenly sneezed.

"Achoo."

He blinked once, then rubbed his nose lightly.

"...Soone’s thinking about ."

A faint smirk tugged at his lips.

Seeing that Lucas had gone to the restroom, Julian’s eyes shifted slightly.

The relaxed expression on his face didn’t change.

But behind it—

Calculation moved.

[The auction is almost over, it’s ti to make a getaway.]

His fingers tightened subtly around the lion Gem statue.

[Otherwise, with this beast’s peak Silver Realm strength, things could get tricky if he goes berserk.]

His gaze flickered toward the exit.

Distance.

Timing.

Routes.

Everything lined up instantly in his mind.

[Sigh, the undestroyable Barrier Skill is still lacking. If only its defense was high enough to ignore the Silver Realm.]

A faint frustration passed through him.

Not fear.

Just... limitation.

With a sigh in his heart, Julian held the lion Gem statue and slipped away.

His movents were smooth.

Natural.

He didn’t rush.

Didn’t draw attention.

Just another guest leaving early.

But soone noticed.

Hearing Julian’s inner thoughts, Yana Tyson pondered for a mont and quickly followed him.

Her eyes sharpened slightly.

Her heartbeat quickened.

Based on her understanding of Lucas, he definitely wouldn’t let Julian go.

That much was certain.

And that—

That was her chance.

When the ti ca, she’d have the chance to repay her debts and seek revenge!

Her steps were quiet as she followed.

Controlled.

Careful.

Just as the two of them left, Lucas returned.

His clothes were slightly damp.

His expression—

Cold.

Dark.

Dangerously calm.

Seeing Julian was no longer in his seat, his eyes widened in rage.

The mont snapped.

Control shattered.

After a quick scan, he spotted Julian sneaking away.

Their eyes didn’t et—

But it didn’t matter.

"Trying to run?"

The words tore out of his throat like a growl.

With bloodshot eyes, he quickly charged after him.

His body exploded forward.

Speed.

Power.

No restraint.

Today, he wouldn’t let this kid get away with the Nine way cleansing exilir!

By the ti he chased out of the auction hall, Julian was already heading toward the parking lot.

The night air outside was cooler.

Quieter.

The distant hum of engines and soft wind brushing through trees filled the silence.

Julian’s footsteps were steady—

But behind him—

"You can’t escape."

Lucas roared, pushing his speed to the limit as he charged at Julian.

The distance closed instantly.

Fast.

Too fast.

When they were just two ters apart, he channeled his true energy wildly.

The air around him seed to distort.

His muscles tightened.

His entire body coiled—

Then released.

His body transford into a spear, leaping into the air, and his feet kicked fiercely at Julian’s back.

The attack ca like lightning.

No warning.

No hesitation.

Impact—

THUD.

The kick caused Julian to stagger, almost falling, and the lion Gem statue flew out of his hand.

Ti seed to slow.

The statue spun through the air.

Cold.

Silent.

Before—

Lucas’s hand shot out.

Lucas’s face lit up with joy as he grabbed the lion Gem statue.

His fingers closed around it tightly.

Secure.

Possessive.

Like reclaiming sothing that was always his.

He landed smoothly, feet touching the ground with controlled force.

Then—

He looked up.

Eyes locked onto Julian.

Cold.

Sharp.

Burning.

He coldly stared at Julian and said, "Julian, you dare to snatch things from ? Today is your death day."
