The One Who Arrived Instead

Tyson Family.

Night had quietly descended over the Tyson household.

The courtyard lanterns hanging beneath the wooden corridors swayed gently under the evening wind, casting moving shadows across stone pathways and old trees planted decades ago by the family’s ancestors. The distant sounds of insects mixed with the rustling leaves, creating a strange calmness.

But beneath that calmness, unease lingered.

After returning ho with everyone, Yana Tyson explained the situation to her father.

Wren Tyson sat silently in the main hall.

The tea in front of him had already gone cold.

Thin wisps of steam had long disappeared, leaving only a quiet chill in the porcelain cup.

His fingers lightly tapped the armrest while listening.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

The sound wasn’t loud.

Yet in the quiet hall, it sohow felt unusually heavy.

Upon learning that a few people had chosen to leave the Tyson Family, Wren Tyson didn’t say much, just sighed with a hint of sadness.

"It’s not their fault; they really have no reason to stay and wait for the Tyson Family to et its end."

His voice wasn’t angry.

Only tired.

Tired in a way that ca from carrying burdens for too many years.

Yana lowered her eyes slightly.

Her eyelashes trembled faintly.

She had expected disappointnt.

Anger.

Perhaps even accusations.

Maybe a harsh question asking whether she had done enough.

Instead, her father simply accepted reality.

For a mont, Yana suddenly felt sothing tighten in her chest.

Since childhood, this man had always been like this.

When storms ca, he stood in front.

When problems appeared, he carried them quietly.

He rarely blad others.

Rarely complained.

Pausing, he looked at his daughter and smiled.

"Of course, it’s not your fault either. Our Tyson Family still has so bottom line and backbone."

Yana quietly looked at him.

Warmth flickered through her chest.

Even during monts like this, he still thought about comforting her first.

She suddenly rembered being young, falling during training and scraping her knees bloody.

Back then, while everyone else told her to endure it because martial artists shouldn’t fear pain—

Her father had simply carried her ho on his back.

So people never changed.

Not really.

"But this matter is not easy to handle. Although Young Master Julian said he would co to help, his strength is not much different from mine."

Yana looked a bit helpless.

Wren Tyson raised an eyebrow.

"Youth nowadays truly like hiding things."

"Young Master Julian is also an Old Martial Arts practitioner? And his strength is similar to yours?"

Wren Tyson was genuinely surprised.

The Young Master Julian, who didn’t have a particularly good reputation before, was actually hiding himself this deeply?

Yana nodded.

"He’s even a bit stronger than ."

As those words left her mouth, her orange eyes unconsciously shifted.

mories resurfaced.

That arena.

That mont.

Julian’s figure lazily stood there with one hand in his pocket, looking as if he hadn’t taken anything seriously.

Then—

He moved.

No warning.

No unnecessary motion.

One second he was standing there.

The next second—

He had already appeared in front of his opponent.

Yana still rembered the feeling from that day.

Not fear.

Shock.

Pure shock.

Everything happened too fast.

His movents were clean.

Simple.

Direct.

On the surface he looked lazy and relaxed, but when he moved, his entire presence changed.

Like a sleeping beast opening its eyes.

A strange expression unconsciously flashed across her face.

She herself didn’t even notice it.

But Wren Tyson did.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

Then slowly curved with amusent.

"Oh?"

Yana imdiately realized sothing and coughed lightly.

"Father, don’t misunderstand."

Wren Tyson suddenly looked thoughtful.

"I didn’t say anything."

"..."

Yana’s expression froze.

Seeing her reaction, Wren Tyson couldn’t stop himself from laughing softly.

For the first ti tonight, so of the heaviness in the room disappeared.

"That’s indeed impressive."

Wren Tyson showed a look of admiration, realizing he had underestimated this young man from the D’Aurelius Family.

He’s different from other rich young masters.

He slowly leaned back into his chair.

Then looked at his daughter.

A faint smile appeared.

"Don’t worry too much. If that man nad Steffan wants to co, let him. I’ve already contacted your Master, and she’s agreed to send soone to help."

The Tyson Family could maintain its position as the top Old Martial Arts family in Valemont not only because of their own strength but also thanks to support from Voidspring Mountain.

Voidspring Mountain was a renowned Old Martial Arts sect in the far land.

Years ago, Wren Tyson had once trained there as a disciple.

Yana herself had also trained there for three years.

Her Master was one of the elders.

The strength and foundation of Voidspring Mountain far exceeded the Tyson Family.

With their help, this Steffan might not dare to do anything.

Yana finally let out a quiet breath she hadn’t even realized she was holding.

"That’s good."

Yana had this plan in mind as well.

Although owing favors was troubleso, desperate situations left few choices.

Silence returned for a mont.

The night wind drifted into the room.

Then Yana suddenly rembered sothing.

Her expression changed slightly.

That guy...

Julian.

Thinking back to what she heard from Julian today left her feeling oddly uncomfortable.

This guy didn’t fully trust the Tyson Family.

If it had been anyone else—

She wouldn’t have cared.

Believe it or don’t.

What did it matter?

But for so reason...

Him not trusting her irritated her.

Yana frowned slightly.

"Hmph."

Why should I even care?

Two days quietly passed.

Yet Yana still hadn’t seen anyone from Voidspring Mountain arrive.

Morning beca afternoon.

Afternoon beca evening.

And evening again turned into night.

Waiting gradually transford into unease.

Even Wren Tyson’s expression had beco more serious.

Because silence sotis felt more terrifying than bad news.

Then—

Footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the courtyard.

Morning sunlight spilled across the Tyson Family estate, painting the stone pathways in soft gold. The night before had left traces of dew on the garden leaves, and a gentle breeze drifted through the courtyard, carrying the faint scent of tea and blooming flowers.

A servant hurried inside.

"Madam!"

The servant’s breathing was uneven.

"Young Master Julian has arrived!"

Yana’s eyes widened slightly.

Instead, Julian D’Aurelius arrived at the Tyson Family with Lina Ashford and Liza Voss.
