’It’s working!’
Seeing this, the elders’ spirits instantly rose. They crowded closer, their expressions a mix of excitent and nervousness, their gazes fixed unwaveringly on the great door.
As the continuous output of Spiritual Power increased, the crowd saw the great door begin to shake even more violently.
Finally, under everyone’s watchful gaze, the tower opened!
"It’s open! It’s open!"
The group of Divinity Transformation cultivators was so excited they were rendered speechless, looking as if they’d never seen the world before.
It was simply that Secret Realms in the Secluded Land were few and far between, and they had never seen a tower like this before. Moreover, it was related to their ascension.
A rare smile graced Feng Jinchuan’s lips.
He watched the great door slowly swing open, his brow gradually relaxing as a dark glint flashed in his eyes.
He glanced back at the others. Everyone’s face was alight with excitent, as if they couldn’t wait to charge inside.
Out of concern for their safety, he was just about to suggest that he go in first to investigate, but several elders had already flown impatiently toward the entrance.
"Clan Leader, let’s hurry inside," one said as they flew. "If this truly leads to the Spirit Realm, the Feng Family is destined for greatness!"
"Let’s go! I want to broaden my horizons and see just what kind of treasure this is!"
They stread in one after another, giving him no chance to speak.
Song Wanning entered along with the group, and her figure quickly vanished from sight.
Seeing this, Feng Jinchuan’s face darkened visibly. ’Cast aside after I’m no longer useful. These people sure move fast!’
’So be it.’ He could understand the elders’ state of mind, so he could only suppress his dissatisfaction and fly swiftly into the Heaven-Reaching Tower.
...
"Sister, your plan worked! HA HA HA! This bunch thinks they’ve stumbled upon a treasure, but they have no idea what’s coming for them!"
The Golden Small Sword bounced with glee. With the Trial Tower assisting, this group wouldn’t be getting off easy.
Song Wanning smiled and shook her head. "Although they’ve fallen into the trap, the Nine Revolutions Soul-devouring Array probably can’t kill this many Divinity Transformation cultivators by itself."
"I’ll have to personally deal with whoever is left. But as for whether I’ll win or lose..."
That was impossible to say.
Everything now depended on how many Divinity Transformation cultivators the Nine Revolutions Soul-devouring Array could eliminate. If only a few survived, she might actually have a chance to wipe them all out in one fell swoop.
But if too many survived, she would be lucky to escape with her life.
With that, she took out a Communication Talisman and summoned Bai Yang.
Having received the summons, Bai Yang imdiately ran out from his cave. Before him, a tall tower had seemingly sprung up from nowhere. His eyes lit up.
But in the next instant, Song Wanning flew out of the Trial Tower.
"If we run into danger later, I won’t be able to protect you. You need to run on your own. Don’t worry about , understand?"
She turned to look at him with a serious expression. But the more she insisted, the less likely Bai Yang was to ever abandon her and run away.
Sure enough, Bai Yang’s brow furrowed. "Master, what are you saying? We share our fortunes and our troubles. I would never abandon you and leave by myself!"
He clenched his fists, feeling as though she was looking down on him.
’What do I have to do to make Master believe that I’ve changed?’
"Suit yourself. In any case, I definitely won’t be able to look out for you later."
Song Wanning had no ti to argue. ’As long as Bai Yang doesn’t run, I can rely on him to turn the tables at a critical mont. That’s all that matters.’
She could observe the elders’ status inside through her Boundary Token. Then, she began to pace out the steps to activate the array, ensuring not a single one was out of place.
Bai Yang couldn’t understand what she was doing and could only stand to the side and watch. The image of his mysterious and powerful master grew even more vivid in his mind.
Finally, after she completed the ninth circuit, Array Patterns materialized out of thin air, completely enveloping the Trial Tower.
The array flickered with a hazy, sinister light; it was obviously not sothing righteous.
Bai Yang’s heart sank. ’What is Master doing?’
"Master, you can’t go astray!"
"This is clearly a demonic array! If... if you really end up killing people with it, I’m afraid..."
He stared at his master nervously. They were righteous cultivators; they couldn’t walk these crooked paths. If their Dao hearts were corrupted, their futures would be ruined!
Song Wanning’s heart skipped a beat at his words. She turned and gave Bai Yang a dark, profound look.
The look in her eyes was too complex. Bai Yang felt his body go rigid, a mysterious chill creeping over him.
Just when he thought he had done sothing wrong again, Song Wanning replied with a cryptic, "I know."
She then averted her gaze and secretly instructed the Golden Small Sword to keep an eye on Bai Yang when the ti ca. If possible, the safest course of action was for it to take Bai Yang and escape together.
The Golden Small Sword agreed and went on high alert.
The ambient temperature seed to drop at that very mont.
Song Wanning controlled the Trial Tower. With a single thought, everyone still inside was instantly teleported out.
Because the tower had acknowledged her as its master, she could control the direction, position, and distance of their teleportation, making certain they wouldn’t land outside the array’s boundary.
WHOOSH—
The Trial Tower transford into a streak of light, burrowing into Song Wanning’s Sea of Consciousness in the blink of an eye.
The group, who had been undergoing a trial, was suddenly ejected, plumting from high in the air. A powerful feeling of weightlessness washed over them, and within a breath’s ti, they had hit the ground.
Feng Jinchuan stabilized his body and descended from mid-air. The mont he was out, he noticed the surrounding array, and his expression changed drastically.
"This is bad! It’s a demonic array!"
His sharp, anxious cry bood like a clap of thunder.
The elders’ hearts tightened, and they subconsciously tried to fly out of the array.
After being repelled by the barrier, they launched several consecutive attacks, but the array remained completely unscathed, not even rippling.
Greatly shaken, they quickly flew back into the air and instinctively ford a circle, their gazes filled with apprehension and shock as they looked at the sinisterly glowing Array Patterns.
"How can this be?! Weren’t we inside the Heaven-Reaching Tower?"
"What is this array?"
The elders were bewildered, but more than that, they were panicked.
In the midst of their panic, they finally spotted "Feng Youming" standing outside the array.
"Youming, why are you outside?"
Wulan was stunned for a mont, then hurriedly said, "Get us out of here, quickly!"
"There’s clearly sothing wrong with this demonic array!"
"That’s right, Youming! Hurry up and figure out a way to get us out! Honestly, the Heaven-Reaching Tower is gone, too. Is this so kind of joke?"
"Right! I knew there was sothing strange about that Heaven-Reaching Tower appearing out of nowhere!"
"Quick, let’s just figure a way out first!"
At this point, it hadn’t yet occurred to them that "Feng Youming" was a traitor. They simply assud "he" had gotten lucky and been teleported outside.
Song Wanning stood motionless and silent, simply staring at them with a faint smile.
Gradually, the crowd realized sothing was wrong.
"Feng Youming, what are you standing there like an idiot for? Hurry up and help!"
"Are you just going to stand there and watch as sothing happens to us?"
"This is not the ti for gas!"
The group’s words, directed at "Feng Youming," started to beco sharp and filled with pressure.
"Feng Youming, I’m talking to you! Do you hear ?"
