Julius bent down and picked Rosalina up in his arms.
’Hmm?’
The mont he lifted her, she quickly wrapped her arms around his chest.
’What the...?’
He looked down at her face. It was bright red, and she was hiding it against his chest.
’Is she feeling shy?’ he thought, feeling a bit amused.
He turned around and started walking.
When he reached Alfred, he said calmly, "Neutralize him before I co back. Cut off his arms and legs."
Alfred’s eyes moved to Rosalina. He didn’t answer right away. He noticed her shy and vulnerable face.
A small smile appeared on his lips.
"It shall be done," Alfred said softly. "And good luck, my lord."
Julius gave him a slightly confused look before walking out the door.
"Does it hurt?" he asked gently, looking down at her.
Rosalina stayed quiet. Her neck had turned completely red by now.
"I’m sorry it took so long to get here," Julius said as he carried her out through the broken gate.
"If I hadn’t been late, you wouldn’t have gone through all that pain."
His face grew angry again. "But it was also your fault!" he added firmly.
"I told you I can do anything for you," he scolded her.
"You should have told everything. Do you think I don’t know what you want?"
He sighed softly. The night air felt cool and refreshing around them.
Even though the ground was covered with dead guards, Julius didn’t care.
Boom!
A loud explosion ca from the mansion behind them, but Julius’s face didn’t change at all.
"Everything I’m doing is for you," he said, his voice becoming softer.
"I lost you once before. I won’t make the sa mistake again."
He rembered the helpless feeling when he read her death scene on the computer screen.
Since the day he arrived, he had been working nonstop to change everything and destroy the hero’s system for good.
Most of the ti he acted cheerful, but deep down he was always thinking about how to kill Nickel once and for all.
Julius finally walked out of the gate.
The sa cart they had used for their date was waiting there.
He reached out with one hand, opened the door, and gently placed Rosalina inside.
Her eyes were shut tight and her eyebrows were squeezed together, but Julius didn’t notice.
’She fell asleep,’ he thought.
He gently stroked her hair and said, "Rest here. After I finish dealing with them, I’ll co back, okay?"
He leaned in and kissed her forehead with a small smile.
"Okay then, I’ll see you in a minute," he said as he started to pull back.
"Haa..." he sighed to himself. "It’s about ti I get rid of them."
He was about to walk away when Rosalina suddenly grabbed his hand.
"Hmm?" Julius stopped. "You’re awake? Is sothing the mat—"
Before he could finish speaking, Rosalina gave a strong pull on his hand.
The force was enough to drag him forward.
Out of nowhere, before he could even adjust his eyes, sothing soft and warm pressed against his lips.
"Ummm?"
Julius’s eyes widened in shock.
He looked down and saw two shiny black eyes staring up at him.
Rosalina’s cheeks were bright red, and steam seed to rise from her face.
Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!
He could clearly hear her heart beating fast.
At the sa ti, his own heartbeat started racing and soon matched hers perfectly.
For the first ti since he ca to this world, Julius’s mind went completely blank.
He lost himself in the mont.
Rosalina kept looking straight into his eyes.
Her face was flushed, but her heart was jumping with joy.
’Finally... finally I was able to kiss him!’ her heart scread happily.
Since the mont he picked her up, she had been thinking about kissing him but couldn’t find the courage.
At one point she even thought about just saying "I love you."
But when he turned to leave, she knew that if she didn’t do it now, she might never get another chance.
After a short mont, at least it felt short to her, she pulled her lips away.
"I love you," she said softly. "Ever since I was eight!"
She looked at his confused and wavering eyes with steady, determined ones.
"You don’t know how much I waited for this day! I love you, Julius!"
Julius still couldn’t snap out of his daze. His mind felt completely empty.
He didn’t know what to say. He just stood there staring at her face.
Even after getting beaten so badly, she still looked as beautiful as ever.
"But... you... hated ..." he managed to squeeze out the words.
Tap!
Rosalina tapped his forehead softly with her finger.
"Idiot," she said, giving him the warst smile he had ever seen.
"If I really hated you, why would I keep you with all this ti? Why would I go on a date with you?"
She paused for a second, then grinned playfully.
"It just wasn’t the right ti. And you think you were the only one who fell in love?"
Rosalina looked at him with sparkling eyes.
"You wouldn’t even rember the tis when I was already having feelings for you," she said.
She snapped her fingers, and a soft glow ca out from the ring on her finger.
The mont the light appeared, beautiful paintings suddenly floated all around them in the air.
"What the..." Julius exclaid, his eyes going wide as he looked around.
There were paintings of all different styles.
So were simple stick figures from when she was very young.
Others were a bit better drawn, and the newest ones looked really detailed and pretty.
He turned slowly, taking in every painting.
Then his eyes suddenly stopped on one that looked very familiar.
He reached out, grabbed it gently, and stared at it.
"Is this... from the day I proposed?" he asked. His face was still full of disbelief.
The painting showed him on one knee, proposing to Rosalina.
It was exactly the sa day he had transmigrated into this world and gone straight to her.
"Yeah..." Rosalina nodded softly. "I drew it right after I went ho that day."
Julius covered his mouth with his hand.
"How was I so oblivious?" he muttered to himself.
Now that he was really looking, it was obvious she had been giving him hints the whole ti.
The way she would quickly look away when their eyes t, the way her cheeks would turn red for no reason...
Even just a few minutes ago, when her whole face and neck had turned bright red after the kiss, he had completely missed all of it.
He looked back at her, still shocked.
"You... loved for such a long ti?" he asked quietly.
