"No, my lord. I don’t know," Alfred shook his head.
He had heard Julius use the word before, but he never asked what it ant.
Julius smiled and started explaining.
"A transmigrator is a person who gets reincarnated into a character from a novel. For better understanding... you love those romance stories, right?"
Alfred coughed awkwardly and scratched his cheek.
"Ahem... yes, my lord." He nodded, looking a little embarrassed.
"So imagine this," Julius continued.
"You are reading your favorite novel. You fall asleep or die suddenly. Instead of going to the afterlife, you wake up inside the novel you were reading. That is called transmigration. Do you understand?"
"Yes, my lord," Alfred nodded seriously. Then he thought for a second and his eyes suddenly grew wide.
"Wait... my lord... does that an our world is also a novel?"
"Bingo!" Julius said with a big grin. "You are smart, Alfred!"
He smiled at his loyal servant, then turned to Nickel with a cold smile that wasn’t really a smile.
"In my previous life, I caught one of these transmigrators. He told everything. But I never thought there would be another one here."
Nickel looked even more confused now.
Julius had just said he was a transmigrator, but his words also sounded like he was a regressor.
Nickel didn’t know what to believe anymore.
Julius stroked his chin and looked at Nickel’s scared face. "Now, let’s get back to the point."
His voice suddenly beca serious. His eyes narrowed as he asked, "Have you seen the ending of the story?"
Nickel’s mind was spinning from all the confusion, but he still answered weakly,

’So even he doesn’t know the ending,’ he thought.
The ending was pretty obvious, the hero would kill the villain and then live a happy life with his country sized harem, making babies until they could form another whole country.
Still, it would have been nice to know the exact details. Julius let out a small sigh and stood up.
He turned to Alfred and started to speak, "Do one thing. Tor—"
But before he could finish, he suddenly stopped. His eyes widened and his whole face filled with shock.
"You!"
Julius stared at Nickel. The words got stuck in his throat.
He quickly bent down and waved his hand wildly in the air right in front of Nickel’s face.
Nothing touched his hand.
His face twisted even more. He looked scared and excited at the sa ti.
"Hey," Julius said, his voice shaking a little, "do you... have a system?"
Nickel fell completely silent. He didn’t say a single word.
"Hey!" Julius shouted. "Speak up before I torture you! Do you have a system?!"
Nickel still stayed quiet.
Julius muttered under his breath, "Looks like he won’t talk so easily."
His eyes glinted with a cold, dangerous light.
He reached down, picked up a sharp dagger from the ground, and pressed the blade hard against the stump where Nickel’s left hand used to be.
Nickel’s face turned ghostly pale. His body started shaking uncontrollably.
His eyes were wide with pure terror as he tried to pull away, but he had no arms or legs to move.
With one swift motion...
"Chink!"
Julius pushed the dagger deep into the open wound.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"
Nickel scread at the top of his lungs. The sound was raw and broken.
His eyes bulged out like they would pop from his head.
Thick veins popped up all over his forehead and neck.
His whole body jerked violently from the horrible pain.
Tears and snot ran down his face as he scread again and again, unable to stop.
The pain was so bad that Nickel felt like his entire arm was being burned and ripped apart at the sa ti.
He had never felt anything this terrible in both his lives.
Fear swallowed him completely, he was sure Julius would keep cutting and cutting until nothing was left of him.
"I will talk!!!" Nickel spat out the words through his painful screams.
The mont Julius heard that, a big sigh of relief escaped him.
Ever since he had transmigrated into this world, his biggest headache was that stupid system.
It was a complete cheat. Want invincibility? Done. Want perfect mory? Super morization. Want to go back in ti? Regression!
To fight the hero’s regression, Julius had even created a saint.
But regression wasn’t the only overpowered skill the hero had.
"Speak up!" Julius ordered as he slowly pulled the dagger out. "What kind of system is it?"
Nickel took a few shaky, painful breaths.
His face was still twisted in agony, tears and sweat covering his pale skin.
"It... it isn’t like the hero’s..." he gasped.
"It’s not that strong. It just gives you so skills and stats, that’s all..."
He was telling the truth. His system was much weaker than the protagonist’s.
If it had been the sa powerful one, he wouldn’t be lying here screaming in pain with no arms or legs.
Julius stared at him intently. Nothing in Nickel’s eyes looked like a lie.
Julius knew exactly how those cheat systems worked... but he still couldn’t relax.
No matter what, he needed to find a way to destroy that thing.
"Alfred..." Julius said, his voice suddenly serious.
"Keep him alive. Experint on him and try to find anything different in his body."
"Yes, my lord," Alfred nodded calmly.
He didn’t fully understand what this "system" was, but he could tell it was very important.
Julius’s face looked more serious than ever.
Alfred looked around at all the dead bodies scattered on the floor. "What about these...?" he asked.
Julius stood up slowly. The playful glint in his eyes was completely gone.
Now his gaze was cold and empty.
"Clang!"
He threw the dagger away. It rolled across the ground with a loud ringing sound.
Julius turned around with a cold snort.
He had planned to torture them for fun, but he had lost the mood.
"Burn them!" he ordered.
