Julius went down on his right knee.
He reached out his right hand toward Rosalina and said, "Marry , Rose.
His eyes were full of love and honesty.
"....."Rosalina just looked at him.
No one spoke.
Three people were in the room, and all of them stared at Julius. Even the girl who was arguing with Rosalina looked shocked and silent.
"This....." Rosalina opened her mouth to say sothing, but when she saw his clear, kind eyes, she stopped.
Julius spoke again, his voice calm but full of feeling.
"You don’t know how much I love you. My days begin with thoughts of you. My days end with thoughts of you."
He looked straight at her.
"If you say yes, I want to be with you forever, my Rose."
"...."
Ti passed. No one said a word.
Rosalina’s face kept changing. One second her eyes looked soft, the next they turned hard.
Her lips pressed tight, then relaxed, then pressed again. It was impossible to guess what she was feeling inside.
Finally, she took a slow, deep breath. Her face beca calm and cold again, just like before the proposal.
She stared down at Julius with icy eyes. With a sharp, cold snort, she spoke.
"What nonsense are you saying, Julius Augustus Hayes?"
"Is this a new trick to beat in our fights?"
"Or are you trying to make look foolish in front of everyone?"
Her words were sharp and freezing. But they did not touch Julius. He stayed on his knee. He kept smiling gently, full of love.
"Be mine, Rose," he said softly.
"And I will be yours forever."
"Stop embarrassing yourself!" Rosalina snapped. Her voice cut like a blade.
"Is this so new plan from your family?"
"I’m warning you....if you keep this up, then..."
She did not finish her threat with words.
Instead, her hand moved fast.
She grabbed her sword from the desk nearby. With one strong pull, she drew the blade out of its scabbard.
Rosalina held the sword steady. The sharp tip pressed right against Julius’s neck.
"Don’t force ," she said. Her voice was low and dangerous.
Her black eyes changed. They turned bright red. Not like anger words. Literally red. Glowing red, like fire inside them.
Julius looked straight into those red eyes.
He did not flinch. He did not move.
’Rose petal eyes...’ he thought for a second. The thought ca and went fast.
He slowly lifted his hand. His fingers touched the cold tip of the blade. "Rose..." he said softly.
"Stop calling Rose!" Rosalina shouted.
She pushed the sword forward just a little more. The point now touched his Adam’s apple. One tiny move and it would cut skin.
"Who are you to call Rose?" she asked.
Her voice shook with rage. "Not even my family calls that."
Julius kept his gentle smile. But now a small shadow of confusion showed in his eyes.
"I’m your husband, Rose," he said quietly.
"What are you saying? Don’t you love too?"
"....."
The room was dead silent. The other two people did not breathe. They watched, frozen.
On the other hand, the girl who had argued with Rosalina earlier suddenly burst into loud laughter.
She held her stomach, bending over as she laughed hard.
"Ahahahaha!"
Her laughter broke the heavy silence.
Everyone’s eyes turned away from Julius and the sword at his throat.
The girl wiped a tear from her eye.
She looked at Rosalina with a grin. "It seems this guy really likes you, Rose... Oops, sorry, Rosalina."
Rosalina turned her head slowly. Her eyes were cold ice. A spark of real anger burned behind them.
The girl kept smiling, not scared at all.
"Why don’t you just say yes? He might really like you..."
Before she could finish, Julius’s golden eyes locked onto her. Sharp. Focused.
Like a predator spotting prey.
This girl was very beautiful. Long brown hair flowed down her back. Warm brown eyes that hid sothing sharp.
Her body was full and curvy, with a natural allure that drew eyes. Her beauty felt dangerous, like a sweet trap.
Julius muttered under his breath,
"So you were the one."
Earlier, he had not seen her face clearly. Now he did. And he rembered.
The description matched perfectly.
From the novel "The Severed Thread."
The first mber of the protagonist’s harem. Alia Ruth.
Also the winner of the student council president election.
Julius’s eyes turned cold. Very cold.
He slowly stood up from his knee. The sword tip slid away from his throat as he rose.
He stood tall now. Calm, but the air around him felt heavier.
Rosalina lowered her sword a little, surprised by his sudden movent.
But she did not speak.
Julius looked straight at Alia.
"Earlier, I heard you talking nonsense.
Saying this and that about my Rose.
Right in front of her."
Alia’s expression did not change. She stayed calm. Her lips curved into a mocking smile. She tilted her head slightly.
"What are you going to do about it?"
Julius said nothing at first. He just smiled.
A calm, evil smile.
He stepped closer to Alia. Very close.
His voice dropped to a whisper only she could hear.
"Rember one thing..."
He paused. Let the words hang in the air.
"If you ever try to get in my Rose’s way..."
Alia stood still. Julius rembered who she was. The girl who stood for justice.
No matter what. She had no rich family.
No easy life.
Yet she dared to stand against Rosalina.
She survived every fight. Every challenge.
But Julius knew the truth. She survived only because the author wrote it that way.
But what happens when soone stops following the story?
"I will make your life so miserable," Julius whispered, "you will beg for it to end."
Before he could finish the last word, Alia swung her hand fast. A sharp slap aid at his right cheek.
Julius caught her wrist. In mid-air. Right in front of his face. His grip was firm.
Alia’s calm mask cracked. Her eyes widened. "Let go!" she snapped.
Julius looked at her. "Careful now, you are a woman," he said quietly.
"But that doesn’t an you can raise your hand at anyone."
His golden eyes changed. The veins on his eyes turned red. Blood appeared inside them.
For the first ti, Alia’s confidence shook.
Her eyes wavered. She pulled hard.
Struggled. But Julius held steady.
He did not hurt her. He slowly opened his fingers. Let her wrist go. Then he turned his back to her. Facing Rosalina again.
"Wait for your turn," he said. His voice was calm and cold.
Alia stood frozen. Her hand still raised halfway. Her breathing quick. For once, she had no quick reply. No mocking smile.
Rosalina watched everything. Her sword still in her hand. But now pointed at the floor.
Her red eyes slowly faded back to black. She looked confused. Angry. And sothing else.
Julius’s face softened again. The cold edge in his eyes faded. Truthfully, he had no real plan to hurt Alia. Not yet, anyway.
He knew how much that "trash" protagonist loved her in the original story.
If he killed her now, it would not hurt the protagonist at all. They had not even t yet.
So Julius decided to leave her alone....for the future.
Rosalina’s expression was hard to read. It was very complex however she wiped that look away instantly.
"You should mind your own business, Julius," she said.
Her voice was sharp and final.
"And don’t ever co near again."
She gave one last cold snort. Turned on her heel. Walked straight out of the room.
Her steps were fast and angry.
The two other girls followed her quickly.
One glanced back at Julius for a second.
Then they were gone.
Julius stood alone now. He watched their backs disappear through the door. A small frown appeared on his face.
Alia was the last to leave. She stopped at the doorway. Turned around slowly. Looked straight at him.
"I will rember this, Julius Augustus Hayes," she said. Her voice was calm, but full of promise. Then she walked out too.
The door closed behind her. The room beca very quiet.
Julius stood there, thinking. "This is strange," he said to himself. "Is it too early for her to acknowledge as her husband?"
