Julius kept thinking hard as he walked forward, still carrying Rosel in his right arm.
’These big jumps in spies... if I connect them all...’
He paused mid-step. His eyes suddenly widened so much it looked like his pupils might fall out.
’These spikes happened right after I did sothing big that wasn’t supposed to happen in the original story!’
The first jump to fifteen spies ca right after he proposed to Rosalina early.
In the original TST, the villain wasn’t even properly introduced yet at this point.
So proposing to her so soon was a change he made.
Then there was Rosel. He looked down at her.
She had finally found one long strand of his hair and was happily playing with it.
Her lips were pushed out in a cute little pout, making her look super adorable.
Julius smiled and gently rubbed her soft cheek with his free hand.
’She is the daughter of destiny. In the original story, she was supposed to stay trapped there, waiting for that trash hero to co and rescue her. She was one of the main reasons the hero survived later on.’
The more Julius thought about it, the more the pieces clicked together.
’By taking her away, I changed the plot in my favor.’
His expression grew more and more sure. His brows knitted together tightly.
After he rescued Rosel, soone sent fifty spies to watch him. Then ca sothing that wasn’t in the original TST at all.
’The Saint Trial.’
He had sent his avatar almost three months ago.
One month later, the avatar was announced as the Saint candidate.
And right after that announcent ca the biggest spike, sixty-five spies.
All of these big events were never in the original story.
’If I had transmigrated into another character, and the main villain suddenly started doing all these crazy things, I would definitely get suspicious too.’
Proposing to Rosalina early could maybe be explained away, after all, the original Julius wasn’t shown much at the start, and his relationship with the villainess wasn’t explored in detail.
But the biggest and most obvious change was when he took Rosel.
’If I were another character, especially one on the hero’s side, I would definitely keep a close eye on this Julius to figure out what was going on.’
’To check if he was a transmigrator... or a regressor with future knowledge.’
Julius’s eyes suddenly brightened as the answer he was looking for finally clicked in his mind.
’And how would I know if Julius was a transmigrator or a regressor?’
His eyes darkened with understanding.
’Because I know the full story. And whether soone is a transmigrator or a regressor would matter the most to .’
He looked up at the clear sky, thinking deeply.
’If I were another character, especially one on the hero’s side, I wouldn’t want the real Julius to have regressed. I would much rather believe he got transmigrated...’
A big smile spread across Julius’s face.
’The villain is like a gambling cheater who already knows every single trick in the book.’

His eyes sharpened with sudden realization.

"Haaa..." Julius let out a long sigh and looked up at the sky again.

He pieced it together in his head.
The first spy jump happened right after he proposed to Rosalina.
The second big jump ca after he rescued Rosel.
And the third huge spike hit after he created the new Saint candidate.
’I have to admit, whoever this is... they’re not dumb at all. Guessing that I made the Saint candidate and that I was after the divination board? That was pretty sharp.’
A playful smirk tugged at his lips.
’But you made one big mistake, lil bro.’
"Alfred," Julius called out.
"Yes, my lord?" Alfred answered right away. He had been walking quietly beside them the whole ti.
Julius kept thinking in his mind while still carrying Rosel comfortably in his arm.
’I know the other person probably brushed off my early proposal to Rosalina as nothing but coincidence.’
’But the mont they saw Rosel... they couldn’t hold back. They sent those fifty spies just two days later. That ans they’re watching from very close by.’
He grinned.
’For example, they sent a whole bunch of spies the very sa day I proposed.’
’That kind of fast reaction only happens when soone is right here in the neutral city of Agarta.’
’And as a transmigrator, this is the smartest place to be, especially since the hero is about to arrive and tons of big chances will pop up.’
Julius’s eyes grew more confident.
’Their reactions were super quick every ti, so it’s very likely they’re sowhere in this city right now.’
He looked straight at Alfred.
"Alfred, I want you to investigate every single person in the neutral city of Agarta who can afford to send at least a hundred spies at the sa ti."
"And check the two-kiloter area around the academy even more carefully. Give every little detail about the big shots who live here, and their families too."
Julius paused and stared into the distance with a sharp, dangerous glint in his eyes.
A small, excited chuckle escaped his lips.
"...A rat has appeared."
