Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master! Chapter 267: Family Dinner
Landon Ford wisely decided not to discuss this issue with Thea Shaw right now.
Even though they usually talk freely, after all, Thea is only twenty, and discussing this now is aningless.
Chloe Shaw had a busy day at the office and ended up in a big argunt with soone she considered a close friend. Exhausted, she went back to her room to rest for a while.
Thea saw Mr. Shaw put the gift from Landon Ford into the room and couldn’t help but ask curiously, "What exactly did you give?"
Landon glanced at her and replied calmly, "Two strands of Buddha Beads."
Common gifts don’t convey much thought, so Phillip Lane spent two days finding genuine Buddha Beads imported from overseas temples.
The small details like price weren’t necessary to ntion.
Thea didn’t ask about it either.
She was thinking to herself that the next ti she t Old Mr. Ford, she should choose a gift for him.
She couldn’t keep receiving from Landon without giving anything in return.
What would that make her look like?
Just taking and never giving.
Seeing Thea lost in thought, Landon seed to have guessed sothing and teased her, "Are you feeling guilty for not buying us a gift?"
"Not guilty, just a bit embarrassed."
"I didn’t notice."
Thea: "..."
Can this person even talk properly?
The aroma from the kitchen grew stronger, and Mr. Shaw started helping to bring out the food.
While tidying the table, he glanced at Thea.
Thea remained still.
Until Lauren Blair brought out a dish and saw Thea sitting idly by, she scolded playfully, "Why are you so lazy? Hurry up and help bring out the dishes and tableware. Do I have to put it in your hands?"
Thea felt a wave of nostalgia.
It had been decades since she’d heard such playful scolding, making her miss those monts of being asked to help.
Landon reacted faster. Knowing Thea was hopelessly lazy and that he’d do everything when he cooked for her, he naturally offered, "Auntie, let help you."
"No, no, no, it’s your first ti here, and there’s no reason to make you work."
Then she walked over to Thea, pinched her cheek.
Thea: "..."
Only then did she jump up to help in the kitchen.
She hadn’t been ordered around like that in ages and simply didn’t react imdiately!
It’s not fair to call her lazy; after living a privileged life for decades, anyone would get lazy.
After helping with a few bowls, she walked out to see Landon seated at the table with a knowing smile.
Thea rolled her eyes.
Lauren went to Chloe’s room to get her for dinner, and the five of them sat down at the table to eat.
Ever since Landon Ford could rember, he had never enjoyed a family al like this.
Not to ntion Warren Ford. There were tis when Old Mr. Ford joined him for als, but the large table usually ant they sat far apart.
With friends outside, he seldom had an appetite because those etings were more about business than enjoying als. Family gatherings like this had a certain warmth that was different.
Landon didn’t long for this, but he found the family al experience refreshing.
In the short ti since he t Lauren and Mr. Shaw, he understood why Thea could grow up unaffected in the countryside.
Lauren wasn’t one to pry too much, only briefly asking how many people were in Landon’s family.
