Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master! Chapter 390: If There’s Nothing Else, I’ll Hang Up
Thea listened to these high society secrets, and it wasn’t that surprising.
She had seen even more outrageous things, but she did reject Warren Ford, who indeed had so kind of ntal problem.
It was also clear from listening that Zia really admired Landon Ford.
After Zia said all this, he suddenly changed the topic: "You’re going to be a secretary, but you don’t even know how to use spreadsheets, right? Brother Landon isn’t hiring you to be a secretary, but probably a mascot, huh?"
Zia was telling the truth, and Thea responded smugly, "Are you jealous?"
"..." Zia was sowhat incredulous: "If I went to Ford Group, would Brother Landon hire ?"
Thea: "I’ll decide for him, no, he won’t."
Zia: "..."
Before he could start complaining, Thea asked him first, "By the way, when exactly are you going to repay the money you owe ?"
Zia hung up the phone.
Thea was furious.
Sooner or later she had to tell her parents that Zia borrowed money and didn’t pay it back!
Thea had a computer in front of her watching a movie; Landon wasn’t in the office, he’d gone to a eting.
She couldn’t do much anyway, so she just sat there watching.
Suddenly, the phone on his desk rang.
This was an internal line, as most offices were equipped with these.
Though she recalled Landon had ntioned that if soone called this line, it must be an especially high-ranking executive, and if Thea was there, she could pick it up and take a ssage for him to handle after his eting.
Even if he hadn’t said it, Thea would answer.
Otherwise, she’d feel guilty for earning that million!
So Thea picked up the phone, trying to make her voice sound a bit sweet: "Hello, hi there."
The other party seed startled for a mont and asked directly, "Landon Ford isn’t in?"
The tone and voice sounded sowhat familiar.
Thea naturally replied, "Yes, the deputy director is currently in a eting. If you have anything for him, I’ll pass the ssage along once he gets back."
The caller didn’t hang up nor ntion what the matter was. After pondering for a while, he suddenly asked, "Are you Landon Ford’s secretary? When did he hire you?"
The more Thea listened, the more familiar it sounded, she just replied, "I was hired today."
The caller unexpectedly asked, "What’s your surna?"
Thea thought this person was checking the household register, but she still patiently replied, "My surna is Shaw, Thea Shaw."
"..."
Thea suddenly heard a heavy sneer: "So it was you, huh? I thought he finally wised up and got himself a female secretary."
This voice finally triggered so mory in Thea, she paused and then tentatively spoke, "Uncle Ford?"
"You couldn’t recognize my voice for half the day? What kind of secretary are you?" Warren Ford remarked bluntly, "A lot of leaders might not state their identity. What are you going to do if you can’t recognize them?"
Thea thought for a mont and seriously replied, "I won’t answer the calls next ti."
Better not to answer than not know who it is, after all, before Thea ca, there were others handling these matters.
Warren Ford: "..."
He seed to take a deep breath, after a while he sarcastically said, "You even went to be a secretary next to him. Are you worried about him? Watching over him every minute?"
Thea felt quite innocent, "Landon was the one who asked to co, right, Uncle? Your car accident happened quite so ti ago, I haven’t had the chance to ask, how’s your health now?"
Warren Ford sneered, "It’s fine, no need for your concern."
Thea: "That’s good, Uncle, anything else you need? If not, I’ll hang up now."
Warren Ford: "..."
