The next star that Grey ca across took him nearly one week of travel. By the ti he reached it, his spirit body was already dispirited, and his eyes were dull and lifeless.
After taking so ti to recover, Grey continued onward and soon arrived before the huge black mass. It was no less than seven tis his height and continuously emitted faint traces of laws into the surroundings, like an invisible tide spreading outward.
After recovering, Grey did not waste any ti and imdiately flew toward it at a speed that the eye could barely follow.
Having already grown accustod to the resistance of the black stars, Grey did not have much trouble getting close to it.
When he did, he noticed that it was not much larger than the previous star he had tried to suppress.
Hence, Grey landed on it, and after a few seconds, he completely released the aura of the purple crystal and pressed down on the star.
His actions were fluid and precise, almost as if they had been practiced many tis before.
As soon as his suppressive intent filled the black star and rushed inward, a scene gradually appeared in his mind.
That scene depicted a completely pitch-black space. A ripple suddenly appeared, followed by the eruption of a purple aura. As soon as it manifested, it carried with it a domineering suppressive intent.
The laws within the black star trembled as they resisted Grey’s suppression. But after a few monts, the laws were temporarily overwheld and brought to the brink of submission.
This was what had happened last ti. The mont the laws were about to be completely suppressed, a seal suddenly shone into existence.
The seal appeared as though it had just manifested, but in truth, it had always been there from the very beginning. It was simply hidden and would only reveal itself when the laws were threatened.
The instant the seal appeared, cracking sounds reverberated as though it were on the verge of shattering.
The mont this scene ford in his mind, Grey imdiately understood what would happen next. Without hesitation, he redirected his suppressive intent toward the seal instead.
He wanted to... suppress the seal first and take control of the laws.
The mont the pitch-black runic seal ca into contact with the purple crystal’s aura, it trembled violently, and the rate at which it cracked seed to accelerate.
However, Grey was already prepared and ready to seize control over it. Before the seal could completely shatter and reveal what lay within, the purple light shone across its surface, covering it in a thin veil of energy.
This thin layer of light prevented the seal from shattering. At the sa ti, it suppressed both the seal and whatever was contained within it.
All of this occurred in less than ten breaths. Yet within that short span, Grey had already gained initial control over the black seal. He would still need so ti to completely suppress it, and the entity hidden inside.
As four minutes passed, the seal wrapped in the thin veil of light trembled as it slowly began to turn purple.
The purple crystal’s suppressive aura had already pushed the seal to its weakest state, rendering it completely passive. In this state, Grey was able to claim ownership of the laws and beco the master of their rules and structure.
When Grey opened his eyes, his spirit body shuddered slightly as he watched the massive black star slowly turn purple. In a short span of ti, it had completely changed, and a faint suppressive intent now emanated from it.
Sitting atop the newly transford purple star, Grey felt an overwhelming sense of control. The laws that once resisted him and sought to expel him now bent smoothly around his presence.
In the blink of an eye, he had obtained control over the laws of this black star.
"So this is the... feeling of the laws," Grey muttered as he experienced their power firsthand.
With the power of the laws, Grey felt as though the entire surrounding region was under his dominion. At the sa ti, he could sense faint connections to several other clusters of laws scattered throughout the space. These laws were similar in nature, but unlike this one, they remained unclaid, belonging to no one.
This was his first succes in taking over a portion of the laws. And for him to achieve that, he had to repeat many mistakes and he had failed multiple tis.
But at this mont, Grey felt that it was worth it as he felt the faint power of the world rolling around his finger. It was not much, but it made him feel powerful.
"A pity... the power of these laws... although they feel spectacular, compared to the powee needed to take control of the stairs, they are incredibly weak. And this is only a remnant portion. I have yet to obtain the true authority that governs those stairs," Grey said in a low voice as he looked into the distance.
Slowly, he stood up and stepped off the purple star beneath him. The mont he left, the laws trembled as if trying to call him back.
After all, once the purple crystal had suppressed them and he had claid ownership, the laws had temporarily acknowledged him as their master.
Grey could feel it as well, a faint but persistent connection linking him to the purple star. It did not want him to leave.
But Grey rely glanced at it coldly and continued to create more distance between them.
"I need to claim ownership of many more stars before I can even begin to usurp true authority. I need... more stars."
With those words, Grey shot forward in the direction where the faint connection guided him. The laws of the purple star he had controlled continued to call out to him, but he ignored them and pressed onward.
After taking control, he no longer needed to worry about losing ownership of that star. This allowed him to continue searching for others and expand his dominion.
As he flew, Grey stared at his semi-transparent body with a blank expression. After gaining control, he felt that he had acquired sothing new, sothing that could be used within this strange space.
Suddenly, his speed increased, and a lofty pressure spread outward from him. This pressure was different from the purple crystal’s suppressive aura, it originated directly from the laws themselves.
Wrapped in this lofty pressure, Grey’s speed increased severalfold as he crossed vast distances in an instant.
"Although this pressure is not true authority, it is like a manifestation of that authority within this place," Grey murmured as he looked at his hand.
The pressure gathering in his palm continued to grow and accumulate, becoming increasingly overwhelming, far surpassing the pressure radiating from the rest of his body.
