But in the end, the disguise held and he left rather swiftly. Not wanting to be in such an area anymore. Once Grey had left the slightly grey area that slt like aphrodisia, he felt much better.
Not knowing where in particular to go, Grey entered a random pub to see if he could get any information.
The pub was old and slly! It slt of wine and was filled with mundane people. Grey chose a secluded sear and sat down.
The mysterious cloak did a great job to hide his features as no one could clearly see his appearance. His face was burly and his characteristics all seem illusionary.
The normal humans here knew that cultivators were in their midst, so they didn’t try anything with him. Leaving him alone in the secluded seat and table.
So ti later, another individual chose a seat next to Grey. He had a slender build and fair skin but his face was obstructed by a mask. When he spoke, Grey felt his spirit sea stir a little. Which imdiately made him wary of this slender fellow.
His instincts scread ’Danger’ to him. Grey realized that this person should be at the ninth level of Qi accumulation at the least. If not, he should be at the perfected level.
Foundation establishnt realm was just too noticeable and hard to miss. Even if soone tried to hide his Foundation establishnt level cultivation, so excess power would still seep out.
So with that quick deduction, he determined that the individual next to him should be only one step away from breaking through to the next realm!
’Perfected level of Qi accumulation!’
The individual on his left decided not to say anything until ten minutes passed when Grey was thinking about leaving. He suddenly faced him and said lowly.
"Are you here for the eting?" He said in a clear and sowhat lodious male voice. Grey felt his body tremble and his spirit sea stir up as if a huge wave had shaken the surface of the water.
He maintained his composure and replied calmly. "What eting are you talking about?"
The slender fellow was silent for a few seconds. Grey could imagine a frown on his face as the seconds counted down. Eventually, he spoke. "If you are not here for the eting that happens only once every decade, why are you here?" His voice was cold and nonchalant.
Next, it was Grey’s turn to be silent for a few seconds. "What is the eting about?" He asked warily. After deciding on the approach to use, he went with the most direct one.
"Once every decade south of the three major islands, a vortex fors near the edge of the Deserted blood sea! Cultivators found out that if you enter that vortex, you would be transported to another realm full of celestial energy and cold yin Qi. Only cultivators below the Core formation realm are allowed in! After three months, every cultivator would be expelled and the vortex will close and disappear within a few hours. The eting is held to decide how many Qi level cultivators and Foundation establishnt realm experts will enter. If you are not present in this eting, you will not be allowed to enter the vortex even if you mysteriously found it!" The slender cultivator said coldly. His gaze was in Grey for several seconds, clearly scrutinizing him.
"Were you here for the eting initially, or do you have other plans?" He said again coldly. Grey fell into an even deeper silence before he sighed.
"No, I was not here for the eting. But I am interested now in this vortex that leads to another realm! Are there any requirents for to join this so called eting?" Grey said.
"I’m glad so said the truth." After that, he said no more and made to leave. But Grey stopped him.
The slender man looked back in question. Grey did not dilly or dally and spoke imdiately. "Can I join the eting? I’m very interested in this event that only happens once a decade."
The slender fellow did not seem surprised. At most he was a bit stunned by Grey’s direct confrontation.
In the end, he laughed and spoke. His voice was lodious and his laughter infectious. "I like honets and direct fellows like you! Sure, I can show you the place. Be here tomorrow at this sa ti and I’ll bring you to the place. Don’t be late!" After that, he really left.
Grey sat down in the sa spot for a while before he decided to leave. He rented an inn close to the pub at the cost of two spirit stones.
Grey cultivated his cold yin energy in his small and cramped room within the inn. Grey woke up the next day, a few hours before the appointed ti.
He didn’t wait for the al that the inn normally served it’s custors and headed straight for the slly pub. Cultivators at his level could go for several days without food anyways.
Since Grey got there a few hours earlier, he sat down quietly and observed the people entering and leaving the pub.
From his secluded corner, he noticed that the main custors were usually mundane people. At tis, so low level pirates would enter to have a drink of two.
As Grey sat down silently, he counted the number of people and counted about seven Qi accumulation cultivators, while everyone else- excluding the bar attendant, was ordinary.
Soon, the appointed ti ca and the dilapidated door swung open. The slender youth walked inside a mont later. His eyes were cold and his face which could not be seen was expressionless.
He caught sight of Grey’s illusionary disguise from the corner of his eyes and walked over with great strides. Soon, he was before Grey. He sat down silently by the side and spoke a few monts later.
"Are you ready?" His voice despite being lodious and calm was very cold and detached.
’Much like my own...’ Grey said inwardly. And with a curt nod, the two left only monts later.
In silence, Grey followed directly behind the slender youth. With a detached expression, they passed through several streets and brick houses before finally reaching a tall, wide building.
Grey looked at all of this in silence. His intuition told him not to speak at all and keep quiet. His intuition was correct as the slender youth took a quick glance at Grey when he did not ask any sudden questions.
He nodded his head subtly as they went deep underground under the building. After walkinh down several flights of stairs, they exited into a weird underground cavern that was lit by only so dim lights.
Grey had not let down his guard even one bit. His vigilance and caution was still as high as ever. He subtly circulated his spirit energy and cold energy in case he was suddenly attacked!
But that did not happen. Instead, after walking for a couple of minutes, Grey saw a dim blur inscription in the ground. There were also so other inscriptions floating in midair around the single blue inscription on the ground.
The other inscriptions were of various colors and Grey could vaguely make out so symbols he recognized.
He suddenly rembered what the inscriptions in front of him now was. They were teleportation inscriptions!
Yes! When they wanted to head to the Shadow sect through Glorycity, they entered a teleportation inscription which was similar to this one but on a larger scale. He quickly recognized so of their symbols because they inscriptions left a deep impression on him at that ti.
As if in alignnt with his thoughts, the slender youth spoke even though his mouth was covered. "This is the teleportation inscription to the eting place. These other ones in the air are connected to other buildings that are far away! When you enter a similar building as this, you would be teleported here shortly!" His voice was cold and nonchalant.
Grey nodded in understanding. Shortly after explaining so things to Grey, such as not exposing his identity, and so other things, their figures turned hazy and soon disappeared in the inscriptions that were now shining blue.
They disappeared shortly after!
Grey felt a familiar feeling of being pulled apart. He recalled this feeling as he was being warped through space and tried to get used to this feeling, but it was over before he could quickly rember it.
When his eyesight was no longer blurry, and the feeling of being stretched through space stopped, Grey found himself in a room full of hundreds of cultivators.
Each had their own disguises that varied from magic artifacts, mysterious items like Grey’s mysterious cloak, and even transformation talisman. They all looked at the new cors in cold silence. Grey felt a chill go down his neck under the silent scrutiny of over one hundred Qi accumulation cultivators and a few Foundation establishnt realm cultivators.
Under their cold gazes, Grey felt as if he was naked before them. He quickly checked his disguise and gave a quiet sigh of relief when he felt it was still on.
Grey had the impulse to look beneath their disguises but rembered one of the rules of this gathering. Do not try to pry into the identity of others, neither shall anyone pry into yours!
The purpose of this gathering was for everyone to remain anonymous and unidentifiable to avoid unforeseen problems. There was a strong cultivator in the Nascent Soul Transformation realm that overlooked this gathering and a very imposing array so whoever tried to ignore this rule would imdiately be identified and kicked out of the gathering!
Just the ntion of a Cultivator in the Nascent Soul Transformation was enough to put that thought away from Grey’s mind.
The area was sparse and spacious, with each cultivator with a respectable distance from each other. Most cultivators did not like to be in close proxity in probably potential enemies, so they all tried to remain as far away as possible from each other. Grey included!
Grey did not want his aura rembered by anyone, so be retracted his perception and aura into his body while still circulating his spirit energy and cold energy bases.
