Chapter 362: Telepathy

Oh, so the Old Ancestor just wants to learn alchemy?

Yun Baiyu lightly patted her chest in relief.

With such a dramatic entrance, she’d nearly thought the Old Ancestor was about to terraform Lingxi Valley again.

She’d spent the whole day and night adjusting her mindset.

Though she was desperate to save her daughter, she knew her own strength was insufficient.

She could only rely on this Sword Venerable Chen.

And since he wasn’t making a move yet, it likely ant the timing wasn’t right.

As long as her daughter was temporarily safe—confird through the Sun Soul Mirror—that was enough for now.

Since Venerable Chen had promised to help, he surely would. He just needed the right mont.

And now that he needed sothing from her?

She was more than happy to oblige—ten thousand tis over.

But…

A slightly awkward look appeared on Yun Baiyu’s face.

She clasped her hands together, a hint of helplessness in her gaze.

“Old Ancestor… You wish to learn our Lingxi Valley’s alchemy technique?”

“Our thod is built upon our sect’s core internal technique—the Jade Maiden Scripture.

To learn alchemy, you must first cultivate the Jade Maiden Scripture.”

She glanced at Chen Huai’an’s expression and quickly looked away.

Clearing her throat, she added:

“Uh… but the Jade Maiden Scripture was originally designed for won.

If a man wants to cultivate it…”

She hesitated a beat, then said solemnly,

“Well… they’d have to cut it off.”

Chen Huai’an: “…”

“…Goodbye.”

He cupped his hands politely and shot off on his sword with a boom.

Yun Baiyu stared at the hole left in the hall roof for a mont, stunned.

Then her expression returned to calm as she pulled out a sound-transmitting jade slip and summoned disciples to co repair it.

“Valley Master, was this hole made by that Sword Pavilion ancestor…?”

Several disciples quickly arrived with tools in hand and stared at the massive breach in confusion.

“What nonsense?!”

Yun Baiyu’s brows shot up, and she flicked her sleeve in annoyance.

“I had a nightmare and ran into the wall myself, alright? Stop dawdling—get it patched up!”

anwhile, Chen Huai’an soared through the air with a whoosh whoosh whoosh

and landed squarely at the Dan Sect.

He’d made up his mind.

If he wanted to learn alchemy, why not go to the Alchemy Saint herself?

Dan Yun still owed him a favor—she’d definitely teach him wholeheartedly.

As for borrowing alchemy tools?

Of course that was part of the plan.

He didn’t have ti to shop around for a perfectly compatible furnace.

Zhou Xuanzi was currently working on a newly cleared spiritual field,

not yet planted with spirit herbs.

Suddenly, a fearso sword aura ca crashing down from the sky.

A blast of mud splattered all over Zhou Xuanzi’s face.

But he didn’t get angry.

A wide grin stretched across his dark face, revealing rows of gleaming white teeth.

“Well, well! If it isn’t the Old Ancestor himself. What brings you here?”

“I want to learn alchemy. Get a furnace.”

“Oh? A furnace? What kind?”

“The best.”

“Uh, Old Ancestor, alchemy relies on technique—the furnace just helps a bit…”

“The. Best. One.”

Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly, emphasizing every word.

Two minutes later, Chen shot toward Luoxia Peak with another thunderous blast.

Shrinking into a black speck on the horizon.

Zhou Xuanzi’s smile vanished in an instant.

He knelt on the ground, looking at the wrecked spiritual field before him, nearly in tears.

“My precious field…

Good thing I hadn’t planted anything yet. Just gotta start over…”

“…And my furnace. My best furnace…”

That Sword Venerable hadn’t even said it was a loan.

So yeah, probably not getting that back.

He could only hope Venerable Chen was just curious—

that the novelty would wear off soon and he’d lose interest.

Zhou had seen this kind of thing before.

He was the Dan Sect’s leader, after all.

Plenty of ancient monsters from the Cangyun Realm had co to him to dabble in alchemy,

but most gave up quickly once they realized how complex and finicky it was.

Alchemy was brutal to beginners.

Even if you were a grandmaster in swordsmanship, it didn’t an you’d take to pill crafting.

Heaven opened a door for Venerable Chen with the sword. Surely it wouldn’t open a window for alchemy too… right?

anwhile, Chen Huai’an landed atop Luoxia Peak.

Next to Li Qingran’s little cabin, another small wooden hut had been built—

ho to Dan Bai and her daughter Dan Yun.

Back in the Cangyun Realm, the two had lived reclusively, dedicating themselves to the study of alchemy.

They’d only been captured by the Jade Pool Holy Land because of that.

Now, this pocket world was the perfect haven for them.

Peaceful, safe, and just populated enough to not feel lonely.

Luoxia Peak was Li Qingran’s ditation retreat,

so no one ca here to bother them.

Though Chen was in a hurry, he still slowed down and tiptoed toward the hut.

Before he could knock on Dan Yun’s door, however, the neighboring cabin creaked open a little.

Li Qingran peeked out, blinking her big eyes with curiosity.

When she saw her master, a bright glow lit up her face.

“Master!”

“I knew it was you, even without seeing. We’re connected, you and I~”

She blushed slightly, hands tucked behind her back, her teal dress fluttering like lotus leaves in the wind.

Telepathic connection, huh?

Chen Huai’an glanced at the Virtual Girlfriend Cultivation Log:

7:43 a.m. – Spotted Master descending at the window. Pretended not to notice, went out to greet him.

Ha!

He, Immortal Venerable Chen, had sharp eyes like a ruler’s.

Nothing slipped past him.

“Did Master co to see ?” Li Qingran asked, all hopeful.

“No.” Chen shook his head.

“Then… did you co to pick up your pants? They’re not ready yet.”

Li Qingran pouted. Her lips looked like they could hold a soy sauce bottle.

“Not that either.”

“Then why are you here?” she grumbled.

Chen turned and knocked on Dan Yun’s door.

“I’ve co to learn alchemy. Urgently.”

“Oh?”

Li Qingran’s eyes sparkled as her smile returned.

“Then I want to learn with you!”

As soone half-versed in alchemy,

Li Qingran knew how difficult it was to learn.

And the fact that her master wanted to learn ant—he didn’t know it yet.

That ant he was bound to stumble.

Alchemy didn’t always reward effort.

So when Master started hitting walls, she could comfort him.

Maybe even guide him a little—build that emotional bridge.

Sure, a Golden Core teaching a Void Fusion sounded ridiculous.

But in alchemy, cultivation realm didn’t an a thing.

Otherwise, wouldn’t all high-realm cultivators be pill masters already?

Why would anyone still need people like Dan Yun?

“Sure,” Chen said without hesitation.

A student’s eagerness was a teacher’s pride.

A while later, Dan Bai groggily opened the door, clearly still half-asleep.

She froze a mont when she saw Chen Huai’an and Li Qingran standing outside.

Then her brain woke up real fast.

“Old Ancestor? Qingran? What brings you here?”

“Where’s your mother?” Chen asked bluntly.

“My mom… she’s still asleep.”

“Asleep? What does a cultivator need sleep for?”

Chen looked up at the sky.

Judging by the sunlight projecting into the pocket world from Cangyun Realm, it was clearly morning outside.

Morning ant rush hour.

And as the boss, what was wrong with squeezing a little more out of the staff?

He pulled his gaze back, full of righteous indignation:

“Go wake her up. Tell her—

This Venerable wants to learn alchemy!”
