With the bamboo stick now in his possession, Emrys turned and walked away without looking back. The air around them seed to relax as he left, and the oppressive atmosphere disappeared.
Andrea, Laura, and Caruso stood in silence for a mont, still shaken by everything that had just transpired. They exchanged glances. Finally, Caruso spoke up, his voice quiet but serious. "We need to be more careful. That man... he is not soone we should ever cross again. I have a bad feeling that when we et him again, we might end up losing more than just a bamboo stick."
