Lin Mu expected hours of paperwork.
Instead, everything had already been prepared. Several administrative officials merely confirmed his identity before producing neatly organized stacks of jade slips.
One disciple politely explained each step. "Please provide one drop of blood."
This time they wisely skipped ordinary needles altogether.
Remembering earlier embarrassment, they directly produced a specialized immortal formation designed specifically for body cultivators. Little Bull placed one finger upon it and a faint pulse emerged.
One drop of blood floated upward and there were no bent needles, or damaged weapons this time.
Everyone present, visibly relaxed. "Excellent."
The registration proceeded smoothly as one jade slip after another recorded his information. Everything linked together through a surprisingly sophisticated formation network. Finally, one elder produced a rectangular disciple token crafted from dark jade.
Several tiny formation arrays continuously flowed beneath its surface.
He handed it respectfully toward Little Bull. "This is your disciple identification token."
Little Bull accepted it carefully. "It feels warm."
The elder nodded. "It has already been modified for your circumstances."
Little Bull tilted his head. "What circumstances?"
"You remain a mortal." The elder smiled patiently. "Ordinary disciple tokens require users to inject immortal or spirit Qi. But you cannot do that. So this token contains a specially prepared immortal Qi reserve. It will maintain itself for many years."
Little Bull looked impressed. "So I just talk?"
"Exactly." The elder demonstrated. "Simply speak your intended function."
The token immediately projected a small floating screen.
Little Bull gasped. "It listens!"
Several administrative disciples smiled. pared to arrogant young masters who constantly plained about procedures, helping someone genuinely fascinated by everything proved surprisingly refreshing.
The elder patiently demonstrated each feature. "This displays your merit balance."
Another mand changed the screen. "This accesses the sect map."
A detailed projection appeared and it was far more plete than Lady Kang’s version.
Lin Mu immediately memorized every visible detail.
"This section contains public notices. This one records your assignments. This allows munication with other disciple tokens. And here..." The elder continued patiently. "...you may locate libraries, repositories, marketplaces, dining halls and cultivation facilities available according to your authority."
Little Bull listened with plete attention and each new function earned another expression of childlike amazement. Internally though Lin Mu smiled as at last, he finally possessed official access to the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect.
The real exploration could now begin.
The administrative elder looked over the final registration documents one last time before stamping them with his personal seal. The formation hidden within the seal briefly flashed, confirming that every record regarding Little Bull had officially entered the sect’s archives.
Only after seeing every line settle did the old man finally nod in satisfaction.
"That pletes the formal registration," the elder said while placing the jade slips aside. "There is only one standard issue item remaining."
The four administrative disciples immediately straightened.
"The storage tool?" one of them asked.
The elder nodded.
"Every disciple receives one upon joining. Take him to the Tool Pavilion and have him issued the proper equipment." His gaze briefly lingered on Little Bull’s broad frame before adding another sentence. "Make sure they don’t hand him the standard version."
The four disciples understood immediately. "We will."
Little Bull scratched the back of his head. "What’s a storage tool?"
The elder smiled patiently. "It is something that allows you to carry your belongings."
Little Bull’s eyes widened. "Everything?"
"Within its storage capacity."
"Then I won’t have to carry sacks anymore?"
A few nearby disciples chuckled. "Exactly."
Little Bull grinned broadly. "That sounds really useful."
The elder could not help smiling to himself.
pared to many recruits who immediately asked about the value of their storage tools or plained about the amount of storage space they were given, this young man seemed genuinely delighted simply because he would not have to carry heavy bags anymore.
"Go on," the elder said. "The Tool Pavilion is only a short distance away."
The four disciples bowed before escorting Little Bull outside once more.
The Administrative Division truly lived up to its name.
Every building seemed connected through broad stone roads lined with ancient immortal trees whose leaves shimmered with faint spiritual light. Couriers hurried back and forth carrying jade slips.
Elders occasionally flew overhead while dozens of servants transported stacks of documents or sealed crates between different offices. Everything operated with astonishing precision.
After walking only a few hundred meters, another massive building appeared before them. Unlike the registration hall, this structure bustled with activity while a large sign hung above its entrance.
Tool Pavilion
Little Bull raised his head while looking at the enormous building. "So many people."
Indeed, disciples continuously entered and exited through several entrances. Long queues had formed before numerous service counters that stretched almost the entire length of the spacious hall. Every counter specialized in something different.
One handled weapon maintenance, another distributed standard robes, several issued mission equipment and others repaired damaged disciple tokens or exchanged worn out tools.
Despite the sheer number of people present, the atmosphere remained orderly. Everyone stood patiently in line while quietly chatting with those around them. No one pushed forward or attempted to skip ahead.
Lin Mu silently approved.
The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect truly possessed discipline befitting one of the greatest orthodox sects.
Little Bull looked toward one particularly long queue. "Do we have to wait too?"
"No." The four disciples shook their heads. "We’re handling a new disciple issue. That has its own section."
Little Bull nodded happily. "Oh."
They guided him away from the crowded public counters toward a quieter corridor hidden deeper within the pavilion. Here the noise faded considerably. Instead of dozens of service windows, only several isolated counters remained, each separated by elegant wooden partitions.
Most of them sat empty and only one counter appeared occupied. Behind it lounged a disciple lazily reclining in his chair while reading through a jade slip. Every now and then he yawned before lazily turning another page.
Clearly... This section rarely saw much activity.
The four administrative disciples approached together and Little Bull naturally stood behind them due to his enormous build.
The disciple behind the counter barely looked up. "What do you need?"
"Standard issue storage tool." The administrative disciple answered smoothly. "New recruit."
