Elise was so furious at his reaction that she couldn’t help but laugh.

"The paternity test report is sitting right here in front of you, and you still think saying sothing like that isn’t ridiculous?"

Dylan looked at her anger-flushed face and let out a faint sigh, as though helpless.

He picked up the desk phone and pressed a button. "Bring the files in."

After hanging up, it wasn’t long before the office door opened again. Oliver entered hurriedly, a thin docunt folder in hand.

"Sir, everything is here." He stepped forward and handed it over.

Dylan leaned lazily against the back of his chair. "Show it to Mrs. Bennet please."

Oliver imdiately turned and offered the envelope to Elise.

"Mrs. Bennett, please take a look."

Elise didn’t accept it right away. Her eyes swept over the envelope as she frowned slightly.

"What is this?"

"You’ll know once you read it," Dylan replied evenly.

After a brief hesitation, Elise finally took the envelope.

The docunts inside were ticulously organized. There was another paternity test report, along with a stack of photographs.

The man in the photos had a face identical to Dylan’s. The only difference was a small blue mole at the corner of his eye.

As for the paternity report, the result once again stated that a biological relationship had been confird.

Sample 1: Father — George Bennett.

Sample 2: Son — Robin Bennett.

Elise frowned deeply, confusion clouding her mind. "Who is George Bennett?"

"He’s my identical twin brother," Dylan replied so carelessly as if he was telling her the current ti.

Elise froze. Not once in all these years had she ever heard Dylan ntion having a twin. Hell, no one had ever ntioned that!

"The other file contains my brother’s personal records," Dylan continued calmly. "From the day he was born to the day he died. His entire life—all twenty-seven years of it."

Born... to the day he died?

Elise’s brows knitted together tighter. "He’s dead?"

Dylan gave a quiet nod.

For a mont, Elise couldn’t find words.

"When my mother died during childbirth, my brother was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. My father’s first reaction was to give up on him." Dylan’s voice lowered slightly as he spoke. "It was my uncle who ignored my father’s objections and insisted on taking my brother overseas for treatnt."

He paused briefly before continuing.

"My father believed my brother wouldn’t survive, so he told everyone my mother had only given birth to . I didn’t even know I had a brother until my uncle contacted five years ago."

Shock rippled through Elise, her thoughts reeling.

She lowered her head and began flipping through George’s records.

After being sent overseas for treatnt, he had miraculously survived, though specialists still declared he would never live past twenty.

Yet against all expectations, he endured.

Thanks to his uncle Michael’s relentless efforts, George underwent a heart transplant at eighteen, and his condition improved dramatically.

Not only did he survive beyond twenty, he eventually t the love of his life at twenty-five.

Her na was Fleur Bonnaire.

The two fell deeply in love and quickly married abroad. But when George was twenty-six, Fleur beca pregnant... and tragedy struck.

He died in a sudden car accident.

The following spring, Fleur gave birth to Robin. Crushed by the grief of losing her husband and suffering severe postpartum depression, she eventually suffered a ntal breakdown and was admitted into a professional treatnt facility.

She could no longer care for the child.

Dylan’s deep, steady voice broke the silence and seeped into her thoughts.

"My brother and I were identical twins. dically speaking, we share the sa genetic makeup. So when you used my DNA and Robin’s samples for the test, a standard paternity test would naturally conclude that the biological relationship exists."

His gaze rested heavily on Elise’s face.

"Elise, I didn’t tell you the truth because at the ti, you had just miscarried. Your physical condition and emotional state were both unstable. If I had suddenly brought Robin ho and asked you to raise him, I was afraid you wouldn’t accept it."

"Afraid I wouldn’t accept it?"

Elise laughed again, this ti out of sheer disbelief and anger.

"So that’s why you adopted Robin under the na of our marriage? Everyone outside knew I supposedly had an adopted son, except —the so-called adoptive mother knew absolutely nothing!"

Her voice sharpened as she glared at him.

"And what about the fact that Robin calls you ’Dad’ and calls Quinn ’Mom’? What about the three of you living together at Orchard Residence like an actual family?"

"How exactly do you explain that?"
