The numbers in the points balance column continued to rise.

Thirty million.

Not thirty thousand.

Thirty million points.

Wu Fan stared at the screen for several seconds, making sure he wasn't imagining things.

The walkers burned to ashes in the mines.

The walkers blown apart outside the walls.

Even the crippled walkers that could still crawl after being "killed."

Millions upon millions of walkers had been converted into points, all added to the rapidly growing total.

Taking a deep breath, Wu Fan leaned back in his chair.

Thirty million points.

What could he do with that?

He opened the clone interface.

UBCS — Umbrella Biohazard Counterasure Service

A full deploynt of 10,000 rcenaries required only 500,000 points.

Without hesitation, he also spent another 180,000 points to exchange for nine additional Osprey helicopters.

After pressing confirm, his balance dropped from 35 million to 34.32 million.

Ten thousand soldiers.

Ready within twenty-four hours.

Wu Fan closed the panel and picked up the phone.

"Send HUNK and Lupo to my office."

Ten minutes later, both arrived.

HUNK stood silently before the desk. His gas mask concealed his face completely, while the red lenses glowed beneath the fluorescent lights like burning embers.

Lupo stood beside him without a mask, revealing sharp features and cold gray eyes.

Wu Fan pushed a map of Atlanta across the desk.

"How many walkers are left in the city?"

HUNK glanced at the map.

"Satellite surveillance estimates approximately two hundred thousand."

His voice ca muffled through the gas mask.

Wu Fan raised an eyebrow.

"Enough for training?"

HUNK paused briefly.

"Enough."

"Good."

Wu Fan leaned back.

"Take ten thousand n tomorrow and clear the city."

He tapped Atlanta on the map.

"Jackie's team will cooperate with you. Build a defensive wall around Atlanta."

His gaze hardened.

"I want that city habitable again."

HUNK picked up the map, folded it neatly, and slipped it into a pocket.

Without another word, he and Lupo turned and left.

The sound of synchronized footsteps echoed through the corridor before fading into silence.

Wu Fan rose from his chair and walked toward the window.

Lighting a cigarette, he looked down at the empty training grounds below.

Every available person had already been dispatched to battlefield cleanup operations.

Far beyond the walls, black smoke still rose into the sky, though far less than the day before.

He flicked away the ash.

Another idea was already forming in his mind.

When Jackie arrived, she was carrying a asuring tape.

Her helt sat crookedly on her head, and dust covered her face.

She stopped in front of the desk, breathing heavily.

"Boss, you wanted to see ?"

Wu Fan spread an aerial photograph across the table.

"Atlanta."

Jackie looked down.

"I'm going to build a wall around the entire city."

He paused.

"Sothing like Raccoon City's periter wall. Or better yet, a dieval city wall."

He pointed at the map.

"I think you already know how thick it needs to be."

Jackie froze.

Her eyes slowly traced the city's periter.

From the northern hills.

To the southern river.

From the eastern marshlands.

To the western highways.

Her lips moved silently as she calculated distances and material requirents.

Finally, she looked up.

"How long do you want it completed?"

"How long will it take?"

Jackie thought carefully.

"If materials and manpower are sufficient..."

"One year."

Wu Fan nodded.

"Materials will co from the Port of Savannah. We'll use shipping containers first."

He continued.

"Additional manpower will arrive soon."

His finger tapped another location on the map.

"Out of HUNK's ten thousand n, assign one hundred to Savannah."

Jackie listened attentively.

"They'll activate the transit station and restore the rail network."

Wu Fan's eyes narrowed.

"There are too many containers to transport by truck. Rail transport needs to be restored imdiately."

Jackie opened her mouth as if she wanted to say sothing.

Then she swallowed her words.

Instead, she rolled up the map and tucked it beneath her arm.

"I'll start drafting the plans imdiately."

Before Wu Fan could respond, she turned and ran out of the office.

Her helt slipped from her head and rolled across the floor.

She didn't even notice.

Wu Fan watched it spin to a stop.

The corner of his mouth twitched.

Bending down, he picked it up and placed it on the desk.

Outside the window, Jackie was already disappearing into the distance.

Savannah Square

People wearing black leather coats continued organizing the evacuation effort.

Despite the crowds, everything remained orderly.

Nobody cut in line.

Nobody argued.

Nobody tried to steal extra food.

The remaining Crawford loyalists had already been loaded into transport vehicles.

A few continued shouting curses until rifle butts convinced them to stay quiet.

Lee held Clentine's hand as they stood among the crowd.

In his pockets were four loaves of whole wheat bread and four bottles of milk.

A man in a black uniform had handed them over earlier.

"If you don't want to join, take the food and water and go your own way."

Lee hadn't asked questions.

He simply accepted the supplies and left.

Clentine's small hand gripped his tightly.

"Lee, are we really not joining Umbrella?"

Lee looked down at her.

"We're going to find your parents first."

He smiled slightly.

"Don't you want to see them again?"

"Of course I do."

Clentine nodded.

She didn't ask any more questions.

Together, they headed toward the hospital.

The streets were quiet.

Very few walkers remained.

Whenever they spotted one, they simply circled around it.

The hospital doors stood open.

Inside, darkness filled the lobby.

Even the ergency lights were dead.

Lee pushed open a side door and entered.

The pharmacy shelves had been stripped clean.

Empty dicine bottles and faded prescriptions littered the floor.

After searching for several minutes, he found half a bottle of iodine and an unopened package of gauze.

Both disappeared into his backpack.

Clentine remained near the doorway, clutching one of the straps.

Suddenly she spoke.

"Lee, soone's here."

Lee imdiately stood.

His hand moved to the knife at his waist.

A group of people erged from the opposite end of the corridor.

n and won.

Young and old.

So carried makeshift weapons.

Others carried nothing at all.

Leading them was a gray-haired man with deep wrinkles and surprisingly bright eyes.

He examined Lee and Clentine carefully.

"Who are you?"

"Refugees."

Lee's voice remained calm.

"And you?"

The man hesitated.

A young woman stepped forward.

"My na is Brie."

She glanced at the others.

"We're survivors living in this hospital."

After a brief pause, she asked,

"What's happening with those helicopters outside?"

Lee explained the situation.

Crawford had fallen.

Umbrella had taken control of the city.

People could either join or take supplies and leave.

When he finished, the group's reactions varied dramatically.

So laughed.

So cried.

Others simply stood there with trembling shoulders.

"That bastard finally got what he deserved."

A bald man spat the words into the empty hallway.

Brie slowly approached Lee.

"Would they accept people like us?"

Lee frowned.

"What do you an?"

Brie's eyes lowered.

Her fingers tightened around her clothing.

"We all have cancer."

Her voice shook.

"Late-stage cancer."

She looked up again.

Her eyes were red.

"We know we're a burden."

"We know nobody wants us."

"But we just want sowhere safe."

"A place where we can quietly wait for the end without spending every day afraid."

The others lowered their heads.

So crossed their arms.

Others clenched their fists.

Nobody spoke.

Lee didn't know how to answer.

Clentine squeezed his hand.

After a long silence, Lee finally replied.

"I don't know."

He pointed toward the city center.

"You can ask them yourself."

"They're distributing food in the square."

Brie gave a bitter smile.

"I'd rather not."

She turned away.

At that mont, another middle-aged man stepped forward.

Vernon.

"Lee."

He adjusted his glasses.

"It's too dangerous to travel by land."

"You're heading toward the Florida border, right?"

Lee nodded.

"Then go by sea."

Vernon pointed toward the coast.

"It's faster."

"And much safer."

Lee considered the suggestion.

"Do you know where I can find a boat?"

"I do."

Vernon gestured for everyone to follow.

They crossed several streets before arriving at the harbor.

The docks were deserted.

Moss covered the wooden piers.

Only a handful of vessels remained.

Half-sunken fishing boats.

A tugboat trapped in the mud.

An overturned sailboat.

The cancer patients stared out across the empty water.

Several sighed.

So sat down.

Others turned away.

Vernon stood at the end of the pier, holding the railing.

"The boats are gone."

His voice was quiet.

"But I know where so are still waiting."

He turned toward Lee.

"Rich people built vacation hos along the rivers."

"Most have speedboats docked outside."

"The owners are dead."

"The boats are still there."

"The keys should be inside the houses."

Lee t his gaze.

"Lead the way."

Vernon nodded.

The group left the harbor and headed north.

Halfway through a nearby street, gunshots suddenly echoed in the distance.

Everyone instinctively dropped behind abandoned vehicles.

Lee peeked over the hood of a car.

Several n in black leather coats were advancing down the road.

Each carried a rifle.

Each shot was precise.

One bullet.

One headshot.

Every single ti.

One of them glanced toward Lee's hiding place.

Their eyes t briefly.

Then the man looked away and continued forward.

The squad marched past without saying a word.

Their footsteps gradually disappeared.

Brie slowly rose from behind the vehicle and brushed dust from her knees.

"They saw us."

Lee nodded.

"I know."

Brie hesitated.

"They ignored us."

Lee remained silent.

Taking Clentine's hand once more, he followed Vernon deeper into the city.
