Capítulo 1080: Chapter 419: Crow Bun Shop_2

Lu Xingzhou listened, laughed heartily, and said, “Great sir, you’re so straightforward. However, you ntioned wanting to investigate a mysterious event from the past, but I’m not sure what that might be. Perhaps I could be of assistance.”

His tone was sincere, and Zhou Xuan couldn’t reject him. Besides, he did need so “locals” to help him clear up so mysteries, so he said,

“Mr. Lu, have you heard of Master Lu Xue?”

“Of course I’ve heard of him. Though Master Lu Xue has been gone for several centuries, his Buddhist na is widely known within Yellow Origin.”

Lu Xingzhou continued, “But the most famous event in Master Lu Xue’s life was when he revived his family twenty years later, breaking the iron law of Yin Yang Rebirth. Sir, have you suddenly co to investigate this particular mysterious event?”

This “Fish Head” Lu Xingzhou may seem shocking at first glance, but after exchanging a few words, Zhou Xuan found him rather likable.

His first impression was one of elegance; both his speech and deanor revealed a high level of cultivation.

The second impression was his cleverness; with just a few words, he had guessed Zhou Xuan’s purpose almost completely.

Zhou Xuan liked dealing with people like this.

He did not hide anything, saying, “Indeed, I’ve co for this mysterious event.”

“This matter is truly a mysterious event.”

Lu Xingzhou said, “Several centuries ago, among the Bitter Ghosts, soone visited Master Lu Xue’s Buddhist sect and discussed scriptures over tea with him.”

“What was the result of discussing scriptures?”

“Nothing out of the ordinary.” Lu Xingzhou said, “According to the Bitter Ghost disciple, Master Lu Xue’s understanding of Buddhist Law was quite poor. For the principles of the Ancient Buddha, he figured out seven of the six aspects… completely clueless about one aspect. For other Buddhist sects’ principles, although he had so contact, he didn’t possess much cultivation.”

Lu Xingzhou’s words hit the nail on the head.

That Master Lu Xue often ntioned to people—he revived his family relying on his dedication to Buddhist Law.

Hearing Mr. Lu speak like this made the Buddhist Law seem not so devout, after all.

“So, reviving his family must not have been based on Buddhist Law.” Zhou Xuan said.

“Naturally, but what thod was used to revive the family remains an unsolved mystery.”

When Lu Xingzhou reached this point, Zhou Xuan asked again, “Mr. Lu, can you tell in which year Master Lu Xue lost his relatives and in which year they were revived?”

“This matter requires so investigation. How long will the great sir stay in Yellow Field Prefecture?”

“Until Master Lu Xue’s mystery is resolved.” Zhou Xuan said.

“Then I’ll first have my disciple inquire about it, and once it’s clarified, I’ll have the disciple give you the years, sir.”

“Thank you very much, Mr. Lu.”

At this point, Zhou Xuan took his leave and said, “Mr. Lu, as you’re busy with official duties, we wish to proceed to Yunlu Mountain to investigate. So, let’s say goodbye here. When there’s a leisurely ti, I’ll co to Huangyuan Water Village to drink with you.”

“The great sir speaks directly; I won’t drag on. Let’s part here. Please.”

“Please.” Zhou Xuan and the others bid farewell and left.

After taking leave of Lu Xingzhou, Zhou Xuan, Li Changxun, and Yun Ziliang entered Yunlu Town.

Yunlu Town is at the foot of Yunlu Mountain. The town’s size is larger than typical towns and can be compared to so thriving county cities, truly a busy town.

At this mont, dawn had just broken, and an inn had opened its doors.

This inn also served breakfast, offering lamb soup, spicy soup, various noodles, buns, mutton dumplings, and more.

The scent whetted the appetites of Zhou, Yun, and Li.

“Want to eat?” Zhou Xuan asked.

“Obviously, I just heard Master Ancestor’s stomach growl.”

“The aroma is indeed enticing.” Yun Ziliang did not deny.

Thus, Zhou Xuan entered the inn, called for the shop boy, and ordered three rooms; he picked out so food tokens.

Before long, the shop boy brought trays: three bowls of hot lamb soup, three baskets of buns, three trays of dumplings, and a pot of hot tea.

“This pot of tea helps clear the palate; it’s a gift from our establishnt.”

After setting the tea and food, the shop boy handed Zhou Xuan three keys and said, “Sir, the rooms are ready; on the third floor are the Water and Land, True Understanding, and Clarity, the keys are yours. If you need hot water or bedding, just ask .”

“Water and Land, True Understanding, Clarity—all are phrases from Buddhist Scriptures. Do you na guest rooms using Buddhist Scripture terms?” Zhou Xuan asked.

“Sir, we’re in Buddha Town. The renowned Mahayana Temple on the mountain; the townsfolk are laypeople who worship Buddha from various regions. This inn receives them every day, so naturally, it needs so unique features.”

Zhou Xuan nodded, gesturing for the shop boy to carry on with his work, while Li Changxun and Yun Ziliang at the table were eating heartily.

Mutton dumplings, one in each bite!

Beef fennel buns, juices bursting with every bite, making it exceedingly savory.

Yun Ziliang focused on eating, while Li Changxun urged Zhou Xuan to eat: “Great sir, the dumplings and buns are both delicious!”

“Are they really that tasty?”

Though Zhou Xuan didn’t eat, he detected a “stale sll” from the juices splashing out when the two elders ate heartily.

The sll was distasteful; when food possesses such a sll, no matter how delicious, how good can it taste?

“Really delicious, with a hint of… an Immortal Pill flavor.”

Li Changxun’s description piqued Zhou Xuan’s interest, so he grabbed a bun, ready to eat.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of “drinking water,” identical to the “drinking sound” he heard earlier in the Secret Realm.

His body imdiately reacted with alarm, and the bun in his hand appeared grotesque all of a sudden.

“Not eating, not eating. I’ll go upstairs for a nap first. If you finish eating, call upstairs.”
