Buddha is also an ancient Buddha, and demons are also ancient Buddhas.
Zhou Xuan asked Wu Ya Zen: "Did you ntion earlier that the ancient Buddha once committed acts of killing that ignored human ethics?"
"Great Master, after entering the Dream of the Celestial Venerable, did you see how the Four Heavenly Lords were born?"
Wu Ya Zen shifted the topic to the Dream of the Celestial Venerable,
Zhou Xuan shook his head and said, "I only guessed the rough outline, but I did not see the specific scenes."
In that great dream, the role played by Zhou Xuan was the "Will of the Blood God," and according to the predetermined developnt of the dream—a primordial battle would unfold between the Will of the Blood God and the Supre Will.
The victorious side was, of course, the "Supre Will." After winning the great battle, he used the power of the Will of the Blood God to appoint the Four Heavenly Lords and later gave birth to the nine great Heavenly Gods, with nine Ancient Heaven Ancestor Trees growing in the mortal world.
"The original hearts of the Four Heavenly Lords were pure. Like the Supre Will, they revered civilization and order, and they were once followers of the Supre Will,
but they were not appointed by the ’Supre Will.’
After a brief pause, Wu Ya Zen said, "If it were truly as the rumors suggest, that the Heavenly Lords were appointed by the Supre Will, how could they possess such extraordinary power to divide the sea for the Supre Will?"
Zhou Xuan thought about it, and it indeed seed reasonable.
The power surging to the extre, rising from the seabed, left a deep impression on Zhou Xuan.
But in retrospect, this impressive force could not have been achieved without the combined efforts of the Four Heavenly Lords dividing the sea.
Based on the scenes at the ti, it was inferred that the Four Heavenly Lords already possessed unparalleled divine skills.
Wu Ya Zen said, "I do not have the mories of the ancient Buddha, but after seeing your cloud patterns, I had a great dream in which I seed to gain so insight."
"Please speak, Zen Master," Zhou Xuan said.
"The Will of the Blood God, though subdued, is an immortal existence, and must remain immortal. His task is to serve as the source of power for the world of Jing Country.
As long as he exists, Jing Country will not perish. But if he ceases to exist, Jing Country will wither away without the need for Buddha Country to strike, akin to an old man on the verge of decay reaching the end of his lifespan."
Wu Ya Zen said, "Therefore, Jing Country cannot allow the Blood God to die, but neither can it allow the Blood God to gain freedom.
A Blood God who reveres chaos and slaughter, once he attains the freedom he desires, will plunge the entire Jing Country into endless darkness."
"Then what? How does Jing Country respond?"
Zhou Xuan asked Wu Ya Zen.
"I can only speculate. I conjecture that the Four Heavenly Lords beca the prison for the Will of the Blood God."
Wu Ya Zen, with slight agitation, said: "The Four Heavenly Lords consud the Will of the Blood God, using their bodies to serve as his prison."
"From then on, the Blood God beca the new heart of Jing Country, providing Jing Country with boundless vitality and hope."
Upon hearing this, Zhou Xuan said, "Does this an that, in the present Jing Country, it is uncertain whether it belongs to the Supre Will or the Four Heavenly Lords?"
The Four Heavenly Lords harbor the "Blood God" within them, aning they hold the source of Jing Country’s power—perhaps they are the true rulers of Jing Country.
"It is not all that glamorous."
Wu Ya Zen said, "The Four Heavenly Lords imprison the Blood God, but it is also as if the Blood God imprisons them—whenever the Four Heavenly Lords recklessly overuse their power, the Blood God has a chance to break free,
imprisonnt is mutual,
and the Blood God constantly resists, polluting ancient Buddhas, the Tao Ancestor, the Blood Well, and the Witch God,
this pollution, even for the Heavenly Lords, becos unbearable over the years.
Therefore,
each of the Four Heavenly Lords has had periods of frenzy."
Wu Ya Zen continued, "For instance, an ancient Buddha once transford into a nine-winged golden roc and devoured tens of thousands with one gulp...
As for the Blood Well, during the Laba night over sixty years ago, a blood dream consud one-tenth of the disciples of the Incense Fire Divine Dao into the well."
"The Four Heavenly Lords are becoming increasingly irritable."
After hearing Wu Ya Zen’s speculations about the "greatest secret of Jing Country," Zhou Xuan’s expression turned slightly heavy, realizing Jing Country’s internal and external troubles were more severe than he imagined.
Outwardly, there looms the ever-watchful Buddha Country, and internally, the Blood God constantly threatens to break out of the "Heavenly Lord cage."
Wu Ya Zen further said, "The most frenzied Heavenly Lord at that ti was the ancient Buddha, sotis losing control for months, devouring tens of thousands,
but one day, the ancient Buddha, unable to bear the Blood God’s pollution, conceived an ingenious plan."
"Segregation!"
Wu Ya Zen said.
This segregation thod involved the ancient Buddha finding "twenty-one idiots" in the mortal world, infusing them with his power and engraving "Supre Secrets" within their bodies using divine skills.
Zhou Xuan, upon hearing this, recalled Ziliang’s previous teachings on the "infusion ritual."
It was after this infusion that the ancient Buddha formally beca the Twenty-One Zen Masters.
"Exactly, that is the Infusion Ritual."
Wu Ya Zen continued, "After the infusion, the ancient Buddha entered eternal slumber.
With fools having no heart or consciousness, they would not be swayed by the Blood God’s temptations, and with the ancient Buddha in a deep sleep, he too would not be easily swayed.
These twenty-one fools beca unconscious human cages, deployed throughout the nine provinces, becoming the Twenty-One Zen Masters.
Moreover, because the bodies of these fools contained the ancient Buddha’s ’Supre Secrets,’ under normal circumstances, they would grow, age, and eventually pass away like ordinary people, entering the final phase of life,
