Chapter 363: Chapter 213: Stealing the Heavens and Switching the Days_2

An old man drank two jars of wine—this was truly a sight to behold. People are naturally curious, and before long, a crowd had gathered tightly around the old man.

“Wow, he’s really drinking it all… that whole jar is gone in one go.”

“This old man, he might just be the god of alcohol.”

While many watched out of curiosity, so expressed concern for the old man’s health. One person advised, “Old man, don’t drink so much. This wine has a strong aftereffect. You’ll end up in Shande Hospital if you keep this up.”

The old man chugged, jar after jar, gulping it down. By the ti he finished the second jar, he slamd the empty container on the counter, and his consciousness began to slip away. He burped incessantly, his breath reeking of alcohol.

The innkeeper, being kind-hearted, instructed a worker to prepare a bowl of sour soup noodles to help the old man sober up.

“No one should drink like this,” the innkeeper murmured.

After giving the instruction, the innkeeper brought over a bench for the old man to sit on, gently patting his back to help ease the alcohol through his system.

“Ah, old man, I respect your drinking capacity, but you can’t keep going like this. There’s a long life ahead to live, you know,” the innkeeper said, still patting his back.

After several pats, the old man suddenly leaned forward and vomited onto the ground.

“Blegh!”

The wine he had just ingested ca spewing out like a mountain flood breaking through a dam, pouring out in a torrent.

The inn’s main hall was imdiately filled with the stench of alcohol. Not minding the ss, the innkeeper’s wife rushed to the kitchen, fetched so coal ash, and sprinkled it over the foul remains.

The other drinkers in the hall didn’t mock him. They were all regulars, used to the humiliation that ca with drinking too much.

So even offered hangover dicine to the innkeeper, asking him to administer it to the old man.

“Blegh!”

The old man continued gagging and vomiting,

but this ti, what ca out wasn’t just liquor—it was a massive piece of liver.

The liver, dark red and solid like coagulated pig’s blood, was forced out of the old man’s mouth.

Plop!

The liver hit the ground, and everyone around was struck dumb with horror.

“Blegh!”

This ti,

the old man regurgitated an entire stomach sac,

followed by his spleen, lung sacs… his internal organs spilled out one after another. As soon as they hit the floor, they began to rapidly expand,

turning the inn into a blood-soaked ground that spread like fast-growing moss. The crimson tide surged uncontrollably,

and anyone whose feet made contact with it found themselves trapped. The blood-soaked ground emitted a highly acidic liquid.

The liquid enveloped people, quickly dissolving their flesh and blood…

The people in the inn, once living, breathing individuals, were reduced to skeletons as their flesh was eaten away by the acid.

The skeletons collapsed into the blood-soaked ground, where even more corrosive acid enveloped them, making the bones hiss as they dissolved.

Large bones dissolved into smaller fragnts, and the smaller fragnts turned into slimy, foul-slling sludge.

The blood-soaked ground, ford from the old man’s organs, continued to spread. It crawled up the wooden beams, surged along the walls, and even clung to the ceiling.

The once-grand inn was now a grotesque mass of purple-red flesh. To Zhou Xuan, it now resembled a colossal stomach, its searing acid dissolving everything inside.

“You bastard ‘Hunger,'” Zhou Xuan growled, his tone laced with hatred. “Such a kind-hearted innkeeper and his wife, and every one of these innocent diners—you consud every last one of them without hesitation.

A beast that will never grow a conscience.”

Zhou Xuan rarely felt anger—he typically found little worth the emotional energy—but in this mont,

a fire ignited within him, blazing from his dantian up to his throat.

“Bang!”

Zhou Xuan smashed through the temporal crack with the force of his fury.

Though the horrific scene before him stoked his wrath, he knew that anger would not solve anything.

Only by capturing the ‘Hunger’ and taking out all his rage on it could justice be truly served.

Zhou Xuan took several deep breaths, working to calm his emotions.

Now was the ti to stay cool-headed—only then could he uncover the clues leading to the ‘Hunger.’

Raising his Wind Lamp, Zhou Xuan activated the Wash Away Injustice Talisman, rewinding ti back to 7:00 PM.

He needed to unravel the mystery of “Li Chengfeng, the night watchman” and his disappearance from the inn.

Old Li and the rest had been in the inn at 8:00 PM. But at so point… they vanished without a trace.

What ti did they disappear from the inn, exactly?

Rewinding to 7:00 PM, Zhou Xuan moved through each private room in the inn,

and everyone was accounted for.

Old Li, Yun Ziliang, and Qing Feng were in the private room nad “Peony Pavilion.”

The remaining six night watchn were in three other private rooms.

Every one of them sat there with solemn expressions, awaiting the appearance of the ‘Hunger.’

Zhou Xuan settled into the “Peony Pavilion” to observe Old Li, Qing Feng, and Yun Ziliang.

Everything in the Peony Pavilion seed normal.

Li Chengfeng and Yun Ziliang were deep in discussion about the intricacies of Dragon Seeking,

while Qing Feng sat in ditative focus, clutching a “Ceramic Ear” in his hand.

The Ceramic Ear, a Magic Artifact used for surveillance,

allowed Qing Feng to amplify his Perception, monitoring every movent within the inn.

Everyone’s behavior appeared completely ordinary.

But then,

in an instant, Qing Feng, Li Chengfeng, and Yun Ziliang all vanished from the Peony Pavilion.

Zhou Xuan hurried to the other private rooms, only to discover that the other night watchn had vanished as well.

Everyone had disappeared, as if they had been erased from this world.

Zhou Xuan pulled out his Pocket Watch,

a device reliable across ti fissures and the Totem Hall, always showing the correct ti.

The watch hands pointed to “7:40.”

Before 7:40, Old Li, Qing Feng, and the others had all been present in the inn,

but after 7:40, they had suddenly vanished.

“What kind of trickery is this?”

Erging from the temporal crack, Zhou Xuan carried the Wind Lamp and conducted another inspection of the inn. He noticed that while the rest of the inn was heavily corroded, certain private rooms remained almost untouched.

“Let’s ask Old Li about this.” Zhou Xuan activated his horse armor and exited the inn.

Li Chengfeng, Yun Ziliang, and the Painter were waiting anxiously at the inn’s entrance. The mont they saw Zhou Xuan step out, they rushed over to ask eagerly, “Young Master, did you figure anything out?”
