After agreeing to this request, Laine and his companions naturally settled down in the village. Since Blood Knights usually appear at night, the village elders and villagers specifically cleaned a room for Laine and Veronica to rest.
Laine was not in a hurry to rest; instead, he continued examining the corpse of the deceased Mission Knight.
Veronica pulled over a wooden chair and sat down: "Blood Knights? I’ve heard of them, but never t one. Darling, do you know about the Blood Knights? Just how powerful are these Knights that only Holy Grail Knights can confront them?"
Laine sighed softly. He arranged the Mission Knight’s body, placing his broken sword in his hands over his chest, removed his family crest and so valuables, then signaled the villagers to take the body away for cremation. Only then did he have the leisure to answer Veronica’s question: "Yes, the Blood Knights are more powerful than one can imagine. To this day, few ordinary Knights have been able to defeat Blood Knights. It is said that any Mission Knight who can defeat a Blood Knight stands a good chance of receiving the Lady’s favor."
"I understand what you’re saying. What I want to know is, why are Blood Knights so powerful? Why do they keep appearing in Brittania to wreak havoc, but appear less frequently elsewhere?" Veronica arranged her clothes and crossed her long legs, clad in black high-heeled boots, cradling her sweet face as she continued to ask with interest.
"This matter dates back several hundred years," Laine walked over to Veronica, lifted the Witch onto his lap, gave her enchanting cherry lips a kiss, then continued: "Hundreds of years ago, Brittania was founded, and the formidable combat power displayed by the Holy Grail Knights amazed the Empire. Thus, to showcase their strength to allies and also assert that Empire Knights were no less capable, the Empire commanded the assembly of elite Knights on the side of the Gray Mountain Range near the Empire. This gave rise to a Knight Corps called the Blood Dragon Knight Order, with a castle known as Blood Castle. These Knights were organized strictly according to Holy Grail Knight standards—few in number but highly skilled—and they were powerful and warlike, having claid many honors, serving as capital to oppose the Holy Grail Knight Order."
Veronica extended her jade-like arms around Laine’s neck, signaling him to continue.
"Things changed on one particular night a century ago; a person of great presence, dressed in noble attire, appeared at the gates of Blood Castle and requested entry. He claid to be Alboim Wallace from the Halken family. After demonstrating imnse strength, Wallace was permitted to enter Blood Castle, thereby opening the path of destruction for the Blood Dragon Knights."
"Alboim Wallace was not human; he was a powerful Holy Sanctuary Vampire Knight with a lifespan spanning thousands of years. The Blood Dragon Knights were no match for him, so those who exhibited courage and honor in battle were transford into Vampires by him. Thus, Blood Castle turned into a Vampire stronghold, and they began to call themselves Blood Knights."
"This matter was eventually discovered by the Empire, and three Prince-Electors of the Empire assembled tens of thousands of alliance forces to defeat and destroy Blood Castle. So Blood Knights fled to the Empire and the Southern Realm, but most escaped to Brittania."

Laine squinted his eyes and sneered: "If I’m not mistaken, not only are the villagers waiting for the appearance of the Holy Grail Knights, but that Blood Knight won’t stray far either, for he is also waiting for the arrival of a Holy Grail Knight. Ordinary Knights are too weak for these Blood Knights; only Holy Grail Knights are their true targets. Only by defeating Holy Grail Knights can they achieve the honor they desperately seek."
