"Laine!!!" Veronica and Teresa's voices rang out one after the other, as Teresa unleashed six Arcane Missiles in a fury, beams of energy chasing after the Blood Red Duke.
The Blood Red Duke's enraged face was suffused with boundless madness. Filled with hatred, he glanced at the burning siege camp, pulled the reins of the Zombie Dragon, and dodged the energy beams.
He had rushed here riding the dragon after receiving a ssage from the Vampire Lord, but he was still late! The siege weapons were destroyed, and they couldn't take Turis quickly!
Thinking of this, the Blood Red Duke's face twisted entirely. He hated, hated all the Brittania Knights. He once was the Duke of Aquitaine and was supposed to beco the king of Brittania.
Pulling the reins, the Blood Red Duke charged once again towards Laine, who landed amidst the fires, roaring like a beast in response. Holding the Warhamr, the Blood Red Duke drew the Aquitaine Sword from its scabbard in response.
Laine strode forward aggressively towards the Blood Red Duke, knocking aside a Tomb Evil Ghost with a single hamr strike, then taking arrows to the face continuously. Half-Elf Estelle shouted, "Laine, go deal with the Blood Red Duke; we will cover you."
"Oh!" Feathered arrows rained continuously behind Laine as two Rangers diligently shot arrows, clearing all obstacles in Laine's path. Laine fiercely drew the Goddess of Revenge, launching a fearless challenge towards the Blood Red Duke, who did not retreat. Consud by hatred, he swore to slay this Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Pseudo-God.
The Aquitaine Sword no longer held the glory of centuries past; now it had transford entirely into the Sword of the Dead. The Blood Red Duke, clad in black armor, swung his pale form, launching an attack against Laine.
The Zombie Dragon opened its maw wide, spewing foul Dragon Breath, which Laine imdiately shattered with Spiritual Storm. Spiritual Lightning tornted the Blood Red Duke's senses, distracting him, allowing the Goddess of Revenge to leave a deep, bone-exposing wound.
"Ugh!!!" The purifying fla on the wound scorched the Blood Red Duke's nerves, leading him to howl in agony. To rid himself of the purifying fire, the Blood Red Duke ripped open his flesh, throwing chunks of burnt, green rot and dark red blood into the air. Through self-mutilation, the Blood Red Duke barely rid himself of the purifying fla that clung like a bone tumor.
Seizing this opportunity, Laine leaped onto the Zombie Dragon's back, smashing the Blood Duke's Dragon Wing Pointed Helt with his Warhamr, nearly crushing the Blood Red Duke's skull. The Blood Red Duke countered with the Aquitaine Sword, forcing Laine to dodge hurriedly, and he barely grabbed a spike on the Zombie Dragon's back, hanging onto its body.
Determinedly, Laine attacked the Zombie Dragon relentlessly with the Goddess of Revenge, thrusting the blade into its abdon ti and again. The Zombie Dragon roared loudly in agony, flailing wildly in the air and struggling to maintain stable flight. Rampaging slashes tore the Dragon's back into shreds.
The rapid attacks filled the Red Duke with anxiety. He seized a chance to violently jerk the reins, causing the Zombie Dragon to move left and right, then thrust the Aquitaine Sword towards Laine's face.
Laine imdiately released the spike, calmly falling back down to the camp.
By this ti, the battle within the camp had mostly concluded. Jerald, Abel, Ju Le, and Veronica bore a few superficial wounds but were largely unhard. The atmosphere in the camp was eerie, so places were ablaze, while others were frozen, suggesting Teresa had recently unleashed Blizzard.
It's truly an ice and fire world.
Laine sowhat understood why the Blood Red Duke held Musillon as an absolute fortress, yet fought fruitlessly with Brittania for two hundred years.
Because the Blood Red Duke's strength, compared to Laine's, had waned. Laine, who could evenly match Manfred, now stood poised to suppress the Blood Red Duke with sheer power. Without the Zombie Dragon's aid, the Blood Red Duke would struggle compared to the Black Chalice Knight Richter, whom Laine had confronted before.
Thus, it's not that the Knight Kingdom could not defeat Musillon's vampires, but rather, the entire Kingdom was incapable of uniting as one.
The Zombie Dragon desperately flapped its wings, its abdon burning with purifying fire, leaving the dragon with deadly wounds from the Goddess of Revenge. Pus and black blood poured from above as the Zombie Dragon turned and again charged at the people within the camp.
"Ice Barrier!" Teresa raised a sturdy Ice Barrier. "Everyone, co to quickly!"
"Hide." Everyone took cover behind the Ice Barrier. Seemingly due to injuries, the Zombie Dragon's Dragon Breath beca thin, failing to breach Teresa's defenses. With unwilling rage, the Blood Red Duke cried out, powerfully pulling the reins to urge the Zombie Dragon to climb into the sky.
He wanted to escape.
Ranger Des, seeing this, reached into his quiver. Pulling out a specially crafted arrow, its tip was not sharp iron but tied with string to a large black sphere.
"Whoa!" The compound bow was drawn to its fullest. Power of Starfire infused the arrow, filling its shaft with green and blue starfire energies.
"Kunos' Arrow!" Ranger Des shouted, empowered by the Hunting God's Divine Power, granting the Rangers boundless strength. Feathered Arrow climbed into the sky, trailing points of starfire in a graceful arc against the night sky.
Starfire Arrows held divine blessings, granting them tracking capabilities. It drew a luminous arc like a blue-green rainbow, targeting only one thing—the Red Duke's head.
"Trivial trick." The Red Duke sneered, extending his hand and directly catching the Starfire Arrow, then crushing the entire arrow.
re mortals are still re mortals, how could they possibly defeat ?
Not only did he crush the arrow shaft, but the black sphere burst open as well, releasing a torrent of Church Holy Water. Five hundred milliliters of Holy Water drenched the injured bodies of the Red Duke and the Zombie Dragon. Plus of steam erupted, engulfing the Red Duke and the Zombie Dragon in fog, with the Red Duke's screams echoing across the entire Kingdom. Frenziedly, he clawed at his body while the Zombie Dragon suffered serious injuries, unable to stop its wailing. The Holy Water burnt deep holes into its flesh, one of its wings outrightly severed.
The Red Duke and his Zombie Dragon crashed from the sky, landing in the field not far from the camp, raising a cloud of dust.
"The sa trick won't work on a second ti." Laine chuckled derisively as the Lake Fairy's Divine Chosen Champion wielded the Goddess of Revenge, with Alfred grinning mischievously. "Threefold concentrated Holy Water, threefold pleasure."
"The Red Duke and his story will end today!"
