PS: A new week, asking for votes! There should be another update tonight! I hope everyone speaks up!
"Hey, young brother, what's going on? Aren't you concerned about your own weapons?" Clark the Harsh's tone wasn't pleasant: "A warrior who doesn't respect his own weapon will eventually pay the price."
"Didn't I co over as soon as I heard the news?" Laine quickly offered a smile. The tempers of these Dwarf Rune Master Artisans were famously stubborn and obstinate because the rune power was deeply ingrained in their souls. Dwarf Rune Artisans wouldn't accept any threats; they would only do things the way they like.
"Hmm, I added three runes to this pair of War Axes, naly 'Return,' 'Tear,' and 'Bloodthirsty.' As for your Warhamr... we nad it Mjolnir as per your request." Clark was rely complaining out of habit, a common trait among the long-bearded dwarves, who, in their old age, loved nothing more than to complain and prattle on.
The entirely silver Warhamr was handed to Laine. This Warhamr was about 1.8 ters long, adorned with a variety of golden patterns and many Dwarven symbols. The head of the Warhamr was blunt on one side and sharp on the other, with lightning wings on both ends, and the handle was inlaid with three rune stones.
Upon holding it, Laine could feel the huge weight and the explosive energy surging within the Warhamr. He gripped the handle tightly, channeling his spiritual energy into the hamr, causing the golden patterns to light up, filling the entire hamr.
"Your needs are obviously different from your brother's. His weapon focuses on lethality, whereas you clearly want your weapon to focus on armor-breaking ability and defensiveness, so I provided runes for you that are completely different from those given to at Cutter and Tearer." Clark indicated for Laine to put the Warhamr down: "I have added three runes to your Warhamr."
"First is 'Glarni's Endurance.' Unlike a War Axe, a Warhamr's important trait is durability. The Endurance Rune can ensure that this Warhamr can endure long battles without much need for repairs. A typical example is the Emperor of the Empire's symbol, the Gail-Malaz Warhamr, which also has such a rune, and the user never has to worry about repairs."
"Excellent." Laine nodded continuously with satisfaction.
"The second is 'Grimnir's Courage.' It's clear that you possess a special force. Dwarves are not a race adept at magic, but for thousands of years, we have bound the power of the Magic Wind and engraved it on weapons. The sa goes for you. You just need to channel your energy into this Warhamr to achieve energy absorption and energy cutting effects."
"Finally, there's the 'Demon-Banning' rune. In battle, we are bound to encounter enemies with strong magical abilities, so I added a Demon-Banning Rune to the head of the Warhamr to deal exceptional damage to those enemies who use magic defenses."
Laine was profoundly shaken. Only a race like the dwarves, who have dedicated themselves to forging for tens of thousands of years, could integrate rune enchantnt and demon-banning together.
"The weapons you brothers sought our dwarf help to make are complete, and we owe you nothing more, but I have to say, this collaboration was quite pleasant. If you have similar blueprints and Oath Gold next ti, I am willing to make another trip." Looking at his work, Clark finally smiled, as it had been a long ti since the president of the Rune Craftsman Association had smiled.
After more than five hundred years, Clark finally mastered two brand-new weapon manufacturing thods and also rediscovered a lost rune. Clark had every reason to be happy, having gained substantial rewards from Laine with the 100-plus long-bearded dwarves he brought. Proud as dwarves were, they wouldn't directly express gratitude but saying "pleasant cooperation" posed no issue.
"Master Clark, please don't rush to leave. Be sure to attend my wedding; I will treat you as honored guests and let you taste our human food and wine." Stowing away the Warhamr, Laine bowed politely, extending a grand invitation to the dwarves.
Laine held a significant position in this country, with his fa spreading far and wide. His invitation was a great honor for the dwarves, prompting the long-bearded ones to discuss among themselves.
"This human does have so sincerity."
"Long-bearded ones appreciate such polite humans."
"To have taken down 'Red Eye' Egil, he must have so skills, and he's quite a hamr star."
"My beard tells this young brother is sothing special."
Rune Artisan Clark the Harsh had planned to stay longer because, during his visit, he found Delong Feinson, a young rune artisan (over 300 years old), quite promising, intending to spend so ti teaching Delong to master deeper rune engraving techniques. Since Laine had extended the invitation, Clark found a step down, and the rune artisan with a full white beard said accordingly, "Since Count Laine has graciously invited us, we dwarves will do you this favor!"
So this group of long-bearded dwarves stayed on. As Laine had already successively accepted two Dwarf Clans (the Angland Clan of Dugen the Ironman and the Novigrin Clan of Sven Novigrad), the dwarves had already established a fairly large settlent here, so this group of long-bearded dwarves was not worried about finding a place to stay.
The days that followed were relatively leisurely for Laine. There were no wars in the whole kingdom; the nobles were busy with recuperating and tending to their wounds, with no ti to initiate court intrigues. This war had exhausted Brittania.
