At this mont, a peasant girl from Leonais claid she had received a revelation from the Lake Fairy. She had seen the Goddess appear, and the Goddess instructed her to eliminate the invading enemies and defend the land given by the Goddess to the Brittania people!
The peasant girl was only a seventeen-year-old girl, and a peasant at that, but her devotion perhaps far surpassed that of many knights. Upon hearing it was the Oracle of the Goddess, she imdiately stripped the armor off a dead knight, grabbed the reins of a frightened warhorse, smashed open the Holy Artifact box in the village's Holy Grail Church, found a sword inside, wrapped her cavalry lance with a tapestry (which was actually a banner blessed by the Lake Fairy), mounted the horse, and called on the knights of Leonais to unite against the enemy.
Seeing a peasant girl dare to smash open the Holy Artifact box and single-handedly confront the Chaos Army, the retreating knights, mired in disappointnt, felt deeply ashad. The Light of the Lake God upon the girl indicated she had received the blessing of the Lake Fairy.
The Lady has not abandoned us!
The reinvigorated knights imdiately turned their horses around, rallying once more under the girl's command, and finally defeated the marauding Chaos Army, lifting the siege on Kulona, relying on the sacred light of the Lake Fairy to temporarily blind and the sharp sword's special effects to directly (stealthily) behead the Chaos Lord dazed by the Goddess's bright radiance.
This peasant girl was Huaisi. After the war, the new Knight King, the "young man" Louis, officially signed the King's Order, elevating her from peasant to knight and bestowing upon her the Duchy of Leonais, thus making her the Duchess of Leonais.
The sword she found in the Holy Grail Church is the one now held by Surya, called the "Leonais Sword." Besides its powerful strength, this sword can negate all magical effects from opponents, except those of Magic Weapons. In battles with enemies, this sword can pierce through all enemy magical defenses and render the enemy's Magic Armor ineffective.
This is the story of Huaisi, Duchess of Leonais, a legendary figure well-known across Brittania.
"Lady Huaisi... So were Lords Dalheid and Aldred her descendants?" Laine held Surya in his arms, letting her sit on his lap, embracing her waist, enjoying the shyness of the female knight. She was his wife, and they were on their honeymoon, what's wrong with a little intimacy?
Duchess Huaisi lived five hundred years ago. Five hundred years is a long ti for humans, and even if she was a Holy Grail Knight, she couldn't live that long, especially since she was not. Laine didn't know why Huaisi couldn't beco a Holy Grail Knight, but he could vaguely guess.
The Lake Fairy wasn't as concerned about this "Brittania Jeanne" as she appeared. At the ti, she rely needed soone who could help the knights reverse the battle, and Huaisi happened to be chosen, that's all. This peasant girl was even illiterate. Once the Chaos Army was repelled, Huaisi received ample rewards (from peasant to Duchess), and the Goddess would no longer make her a Holy Grail Knight.
"No, Huaisi had no descendants." The Lake Fairy shook her head lightly, speaking calmly, "Even if she did have descendants, they couldn't inherit the duchy."
"Why?" Laine asked curiously, wondering why her descendants couldn't inherit the title upon being elevated to nobility.
Just then, Surya, leaning against Laine, spoke: "Laine, Brittania's nobles and peasants are not as simple as you think."
